Confessions of a Wanna-Be Coupon Queen

So it seems I’m not the only one who gets excited over finding a good deal! I loved how vocal you guys were regarding Thursday’s couponing adventure. Many of you asked where I get my coupons and also mentioned how discouraging it can be to try to find the “good ones” so I decided to throw together a little coupon post featuring my favorite websites and links!

Mambo Sprouts:

I discovered this website a few years ago and it is now one of my “go-to” resources when it comes to bargain hunting. If you sign up for The Messenger which is sent out five times a year, you get a little e-book full of product information, healthy living articles and e-coupons!

Money Saving Mom:

This is a new-to-me blog. I have named it the “motherload” of all money saving info! You can find just about anything here…shopping tips and tricks, coupons, freebies/giveaways, and even recipes! Oh yeah, Crystal really knows what she’s talking about!

Sample Stuff:

Speaking of freebies, this site is one of my favorites when it comes to scoring free samples! Plus, if you like them on Facebook, you never have to worry about missing a deal!

All-You:

The BEST resource for free samples! If you sign up for their daily email notification, you get one email a day for samples ranging anywhere from foodstuffs, to beauty aides, to dog food! I can’t tell you how many products I’ve been able to try by using this!

Coupons.com:

You kinda have to weed out the pointless coupons featured on this website, but every now and then they surprise you! Like right now, you can get coupons for Voskos yogurt, Athenos feta cheese, and Starbucks Natural Infusions coffee (which by the way is INCREDIBLE)!

Favorite Brands:

And last but not least, don’t forget that most of the companies out there have coupons available on their websites. Here are some of my faves:

…just click AND print! 🙂

Hope this helps some of you to get out there and score some deals! Oh, and I have absolutely NO idea why this post decided to be half black and half green…just think of it as a theme based on all the money you’ll be saving! 😉

If you guys have any other websites you’d like to share, feel free to include a link in your comment!

I’m like a wannabe coupon queen. I have all the intentions of being one, but I never get myself to actually do it. But I’m a cheap jew so I always hunt for sales and stuff.

And dont get me started on “groupon”! I wrote a whole post about my beef with it.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Haha! I think we’ve all got a little Jew in us sometimes!

I’ve never gotten into Groupon…but I know some people are flippin obsessed with it!

Thank you for your tips! I am a college student, and saving money and eating healthy at the same time are hard to manage sometimes. I am trying to only spend about 25-30 dollars a week on groceries. Just produce gets me up to 20. :/ I am going to have to be a frugal, frugal shopper!!! Eek! Any tips? I eat a lot of non-perishables that are inexpensive: oats, pb, and beans. And, I try to get creative with ingredients, that way I don’t waste half a can of this or that. But, I am going to have a tough time only spending about 25 dollars a week. And, I don’t really love to meal plan because I eat what sounds good to me that day. I have thought about just buying my usual items, but only buying one or two of each category. For instance: one protein source (tofu, veg. burgers, etc.), two types of fruits, one bread item, and so on…

I understand where you’re coming from Katie. It IS hard to eat healthy on a budget…especially without meal planning. But I’m with you on that one. I’m not a big planner, I like to just “go with what I’m feeling.” I think your idea for categorizing your eats and only buying a few per category sounds like a great strategy. I’m not sure if you have thought about it, but bulk purchasing of non-perishables is always a good idea too. It may cost a little more up front, but when you figure how much you’re saving per week/per month, it really is worth it! Also, when purchasing organic produce, I be sure to reference the “Dirty dozen” list…if it’s not on the list, I usually don’t purchase the organic variety. It can really save you quite a bit!

  3. Great tips! I always try to remember to check mambo sprouts and specific brands before i go shopping…but half the time i can’t think of any brands to check! lol. Definitely going to be adding the others, as well. I’m always looking for ways to save, so thank you!

The biggest problem I run in to is that a lot of the coupons are for brands/products that I can never seem to find in stores around here. Or, I might be able to find, but I’d have to go to one store for that, another store for this, etc.
And then, of course, I have to remind myself that JUST because I have a coupon, doesn’t mean I need to buy something that I don’t really want, haha. Kinda like spending extra money just so I can say I saved money 😛

    Love the info coupon queen!

I never use coupons, and last week Mike actually gave me a coupon he wanted me to use, ends up it was expired, lol! Guess we are not good at the coupon thing ; )

  6. Missy says:

It’s sad when the people ar WalMart call me the coupon lady! I ALWAYS use coupons and I always price match at WalMart. I use all sites u listed but also I like SouthernSavers.com. My niece writes a Kroger (Delta) ad special for Moneysavingmom – her blog is Bigredpot.com.
I’d use Groupn maybe if my town had it, but we are too rinky-dink!
I love going to the company sites and printing, but some stores are tooty about Internet coupons.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Missy! I’ve missed you doll! And what are you talking about? Sad? Nooooo, those people are just sad that they aren’t as savvy as you are! Haha!

I know what you mean about stores being iffy on the internet coupons…I’ve had a run in or two at my local Walmart!

Hope you are doing well and having a great week! 🙂

  7. Priyanka says:

Have you tried the krazy coupon lady, I have heard it is quite good. Thank you so much for putting all the links to your favorite couponing sites. I am a newbie and it can get a bit overwhelming sometimes.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

I totally understand! I’m guilty of being overwhelmed and just paying regular price for stuff when just because it’s faster/easier! That’s why I wanted to do up one of these posts…share the love if you will! 😉

I’ve heard of the krazy coupon lady, but I’ve never looked it up. I’ll have to get on that!

  8. Alexis says:

All you is the best!!! I’ve been getting tons and tons of free samples from them. I love coupon sites thanks for the other ones 🙂

  9. Mrs. Fish says:

We love coupons over here! A mom at my school contributes to a savings website and a columnist there matches up sales and coupons, which I love. Especially because they have links to printable coupons, which I love. Whenever I am running out of certain staples like buffalo sauce, Tabasco, etc…I always google for a coupon.

Mr. Fish’s grandpa has a huge suitcase of coupons. Whenever we are there and have to run “down the hill” to the grocery store, he always has to check the box for a coupon. 🙂

  10. Awesome, thanks for the links. I just found Money Saving Mom and I’m so glad. I’m loving it so far. Can’t wait to check out some of these that you’ve posted. I always need ways to save on groceries 🙂

  11. Kelsey says:

this is awesome–thanks so much for sharing! you’re so savvy 🙂

  12. Love this! I really need to start doing more couponing!

  14. PB&Jenny says:

yup, this post confirms it – you are officially my soulmate. I’m obsessed with couponing, BOGOs, free samples..essentially, getting the most bang for my buck.

Off to do some serious coupon printing. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

  15. whoa! So many deals here! Haha, I’m not great at collecting them, but if there’s something right on the spot and I happen to already wanna buy it, then I’ll use it. If not, I’ll lose it! 😛

  16. This is the most useful post I’ve read in…forever! Thanks SO much, girl! I’m definitely going to hit up all each of these sites right now and start saving myself some serious moolah. <3

  17. Thank You Thank You!! I’ve been saving the coupon adds for 3 weeks now from the Sunday paper (I met a ‘coupon queen’ that says she can teach me everything I need to know about couponing in trade for a ‘healthy grocery store tour’. I’m hoping we can find a happy balance between saving money and buying REAL food!)

Now I just need to find the time to play around on all of these sites!
