Not that I need anymore!
You guys are so sweet! Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes yesterday!
No, what I’m really here to talk about is:
L.O.V.E
I’ve fallen…
inΒ loveΒ with…
What did you think I meant, silly?! π
A couple of months ago, a lovely lady by the name of Laura sent me some samples of a new-to-me-granola…ever heard of Love Grown Foods before? If you read many food blogs, I’m sure you have.Β I swear I felt like the only blogger on the planet who hadn’t tried these babies!
I got three full-sized varieties:Β
Sweet Cranberry Pecan, Raisin Almond Crunch, and Apple Walnut Delight
And three minis:
Most importantly, the Cocoa Goodness π
I knew from the moment I opened the package, which flavor I would be trying first!
Oh my gosh you guys, I cannot even begin to express how delicious this flavor is…hands down, my favorite one!
It has the perfect amount of sweetness to it and it totally jazzed up a bowl of Almond Dream Praline Crunch (which by the way is equally amazing) and was the perfect compliment to my Pumpkin Bread Pudding Pancakes!
Next up, my second favorite:
Since I was a kid, I’ve always been a big fan of raisin bran.
Ok, maybe I was a weird little kid at times…but don’t worry, I also had my fair share of Lucky Charms, Fruit Loops, and Sugar {Coma} Smacks π
Anywho, what I’m getting at is this:
Raisin Almond Crunch + puffed kamut + Kashi Heart to Heart =
childhood nostalgia!
Definitely took me back! π
And for more of a substantial breakfast, it added just the right amount of crunch to my pumpkin stuffed French toast!
Love pumpkin and raisins together…and look at those HUGE coconut flakes!
Moving along…
I was a little disappointed that the apple flavor didn’t shine through a bit more in this one, so my idea was to pair it with some apple infused oats to amp up the flavor a bit.
It worked!
Tasted like a warm bowl of apple pie…and um, can we just take a moment to appreciate the size of that walnut?
Oh yeah!
And last but not least…
I was disappointed the most in this flavor. I’ve heard a lot of great things about it, but it just didn’t do it for me. I’m not a chocolate fanatic but I can appreciate a good dark chocolate flavor, but this was a lot more bitter than I anticipated.
Can’t win ’em all I guess…
But I’m totally over it…because you know what? There’s still plenty of LOVE to enjoy!
I only wish the bags were still that full! π
Please note that while Love Grown Foods did send me these samples free of charge, I was not compensated in any way for the above review…
But I’m totally using it as a shameless excuse to plug myself! π
As you may or may not know, I’m in the running to be the next Love Blogger…basically a title that will give me the opportunity to spread the LOVE every day here on the blog. And you know what that means?
C’mon, it’s not that hard…
More LOVE filled recipes from your favorite broccoli kisser! π
So do me a favor and pop on over to Love Grown’s facebook page and like my picture show me some LOVE!
HAPPY (slightly belated) BIRTHDAY!
And I’ve already liked you. I’ve actually liked you for a long time π
Yum… so jealous of all the delicious Love Grown Granola…. see it on lots of blogs. such a tease, sigh.
Bummer on the cocoa flavour – I reckon I’d totally dig the raisin almond one too – anything with raisins is OK with me (I get my Mum to send over bags from New Zealand of the Sunmaid variety… for some reason you can’t get them here in Australia – so dumb! I grew up being bribed with those little red boxes)
The cranberry one is my favorite too! Best granola ever. I “liked” your picture! π
I wish Love Grown had some nut-free versions of their granolas. They sound so good!
Haha I liked Raisin Bran as a kid too. But it was mostly just for the raisin part. And the raisin to flakes ratio was always WAY too low for my liking. My solution? Buy raisins in bulk and dump them in the cereal box. π
And that my friend makes you a GENIUS! Haha! I actually started buying bran flakes and raisins separately and mixing my own at home!
I was definitely a lucky charms, cinnamon toast crunch, frosted flakes kind of gal. I did enjoy a good ol’ bowl of Raisin Bran (the kind in the purple box with extra raisins and clusters!) when I was trying the be “healthy”. I think the raisins accounted for 99% of my fruit intake for the day. Unless fruit snacks count…
You’ve got my vote π Good luck Heather!
i love love grown granola! π i’ve been waiting and waiting for it to come to our whole foods & i still don’t see it there…. i might have to suck it up and order some…
oh yeah, and i already liked you on facebook for the love grown thing!! good luck!
i already “liked’ your photo a few days ago! I was so excited to see you on there π
happy late birthday!
i am such a bad blogger friend!
i hope you had a wonderful day!!
and i am so eager to try that granola! i haven’t yet.
oh and last but not least.
you.are.the.cutest.ever.
<33
Aww, no worries Deb! You’re a GREAT blogger friend…tis the season to be crazy busy! π How’s school? Are you finished for the semester yet?
I hate all you stinking good-for-nothing scumbag bloggers who talk about this all the time! I’ve heard so much good stuff about these, and i am SUCH a granola freak, that it just kills me to hear about a product I can’t get here π
But on the upside, I did take some kind of perverse pleasure in some of the varieties leaving you underwhelmed… ahaha. Made me feel a lil better π
Hahaha! Well then, maybe you should start posting about stuff you can only find in YOUR area! Then you can be a scumbag blogger too! Lol!
Hahahah, you raise an excellent point. Know what I think we should do??! Have some kind of awesome snack/cereal/whatever swap! If you’re ever interested, let me know! I’d love to force some of my fave goodies down your throat π
Good luck with the contest!! I’ll try to remember to vote π The Love Grown Granola is so good. I was so sad though when i ate all of my samples they sent me. Not sold in the area=sad me. Luckily my Aunt knew and got me some for my birthday. Haha. And speaking of birthdays, happy belated birthday!!
Thank you Lauren! And hooray for foodie gifts! When my mom asked me to give her some ideas on what I wanted for Christmas, I actually told her to just go to TJ Maxx and buy anything from the food section that looked “unique” to her…chances are I’ll love it! Haha! π
The cocoa goodness rocks my face… so if you ever get any in the future, you can send those babies my way for sure!! (And while it’s on my mind, I would totally do another TJ’s swap with you in exchange for kale chips, homemade PB, other assorted random homemade goodies, etc…. maybe after the holidays? Let me know!) π I wish I could like your photo a 100 times – I would! <3
Aww, Christin, you are such a sweetheart! And funny you should mention another swap because I was JUST thinking about asking you the other day when I bought some kale! I’m going to attempt to make some of my own, but I know they won’t be as good as yours! π We’ll definitely have to do it soon!
