Hey guys!
I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!
I’m gonna go ahead and get right to it, I have something incredible that I want to talk to you guys about. It’s actually something that I’ve been pretty excited about over the last couple of weeks:
It’s a super green superfood powder that is made up of 35 different (vegetarian) “super” nutrients…
It comes in an easily mixable and digestable powder that is mildly sweetened with Stevia…
And it tastes FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC!
Ok wait, let me back up a minute…
A few months ago, the creator of Incredible Greens, Jonathan Bechtel, vegetarian, marathon runner, and all around “good” guy, contacted me about doing a review of his brand new, hot off the presses dehydrator green superfood powder.
Here’s a sweet face to put with the name…doesn’t he look so proud of his HUGE bowl of hummus?
After reading through the email, perusing the website, and checking out Jonathan’s blog, I decided Incredible Greens sounded like something I would definitely be interested in. Throughout my many adventures in the world of supplement powders/liquids, I’m sad to say I’ve never tried a green foods supplement before.
And I’ll be honest, it wasn’t due to a lack of accessibility…no, it was due to fear…fear of the dreaded
“Oh my god, I’m drinking dried out grass clippings!”
So obviously I jumped at the chance to try one for free…
I was so stoked that when it first arrived on my doorstep, I ripped open the box, peeled open the label…
Screwed the lid back on and put it in the pantry.
I’m like, “Ohhh no, who does he think he is trying to market this stuff?…it looks like dehydrated pond scum!
In the words of Michelle Tanner, “I donnnnnn’t think so!”
Then, a few weeks ago, I just came around to it was reminded that it was hiding in the pantry when I received a follow up email from Jonathan.
So I went to the kitchen, poured myself a glass, gritted my teeth…
And about fell on the floor by how incredible it tasted!
Corny I know, but I’m totally serious!
But don’t take my word for it, I asked BB to let me borrow his taste buds JUST for the benefit of this post:
He obsequiously agreed and then quickly became a fan.
After his initial taste, I decided we should put it up against some other contenders for an unofficial “green foods taste off”:
Oh look at that, some samples that I’ve been saving too afraid to try! 😉
The Greens First is a sample I got from my chiropractor MONTHS ago, it tasted pretty good, but had a strong mint flavor to it…not good for anything other than drinking straight…and freshening your breath?
The Amazing Grass GREENSuperFood tasted exactly how I imagined a green drink to taste…definite yard clippage. 🙁
And finally, we had our winner…Incredible Greens!
Cheers!
So I figured, if it tastes THIS good by itself, I wonder how it will taste mixed in everything I like to eat for breakfast?
So in went the Incredible Greens into protein pancakes, yogurt bowls, oats, and smoothies…all with hardly a noticeable difference (besides the obvious change in hue).
But the BEST breakfast?
This morning’s “Green Eggs & Jam” 🙂
I simply whisked a scoop of Incredible Greens into 5 egg whites and scrambled them upas usual…let it be known right now that I HATE egg whites and refuse to eat them unless they are made into some sort of omelet, breakfast pizza, or covered in cheese.
Wanna know what I added to these?
Absolutely NOTHING!
And oh yeah, remember that Kalamata Olive Hummus?
Couldn’t tell a difference AT ALL!
Ok, so here’s the scoop (haha, get it?)…I seriously want you guys to try this stuff! Jonathan has been working diligently with his marketing crew and manufacturers to get Incredible Greens available for purchase and it is finally ready!
He already has some pretty sweet discounts set up for bulk purchasing, but you guys have definitely hit the jackpot as he was gracious enough to set up a coupon code for Kiss My Broccoli readers.
Just type in the code kissmybroccoli for a total of:
40% OFF!!
50% OFF!!*
*My mistake…the deal is even BETTER than I thought!!
Edited 3/27/12 @ 11:05am
But get this…if you’re curious and that price is still too far out of your budget, head over to this page and name your price!
Reasons You Should Try Incredible Greens:
1. It tastes great…I’m sorry, but I can’t stress this enough!
2. It’s convenient for on the go, traveling, and with the mild taste can be added to just about anything!
3. Everyone could use a little “oomph” in the vegetable department every once in a while.
4. You get to be a part of helping a young entrepreneur make his way into the market.
5. And finally, you love me and you know I would NEVER steer you wrong!
All of the statements above are based on my own opinion and I was in no way compensated for the review of Incredible Greens.
Peace, love, and greens! 😉
I’m a freak and actually like the taste of regular “green” powders (spirilina, wheat grass etc) BUT this sounds awesome 🙂 Great review!
How cool!!! I’m definitely going to look into it 🙂
Definitely checking this stuff out! Not quite sure why…. but I bought a Vegan protein powder a while back and am forever turned off… but I have faith in your taste buds. BTW, you are such a good writer, hilarious, talented photographer, you get where I’m going… You rock 🙂
Aww, thank you Courtney! You just brought the biggest smile to my face!
I don’t blame you on being turned off by the vegan powder…it’s really really hard to find a vegan protein that’s not gritty and gross. Actually, I have a few in the back of my cupboard now! Lol
gonna give it a whirl…..just purchased 🙂
Awesome! Payday isn’t until Saturday, but I’m on this. Thanks so much for sharing! How long does the coupon run?
Just kidding … Barley. Can’t do that. 🙁 Gluten. I wish I could find a gluten-free greens powder.
Awww! 🙁 Jonathan did say that after he gets Incredible Greens off the ground and builds up the company a bit, there are plans to look into making a gluten-free version so don’t lose hope!
I’ll be buying because I’ve been wanting a greens superfood! But I’ll need to wait a few weeks to catch up on moola! Thanks for review!
Well jeez, Heather! I’m blushing.
Needless to say….I’m glad you liked it 🙂
For any and all interested: the coupon code is actually for 50% off….not 40%….that got changed.
Given the feedback from this post, I think we should let the coupon run for a while….you guys can decide how long, to be honest.
And like Heather said, if $25 is still too much, go to the page she mentioned and decide how much would be good for you and we’ll work something out.
Man oh man……..I feel so proud! Thanks Heather! Thanks for reading guys!
Here’s to our health!
Jonathan
I know this is another comment, but I really can’t thank you enough for this positive review. You’d almost think someone was paying you for it.
I can’t even say it looks delicious because it’s an unnatural shade of green BUT the way you describe it sounds very good! This is coming from a girl whom is slightly weirded out by green monsters as well..
That’s because you’ve never tried one…I know that because I was the SAME way until I tried my first green monster. I swear to you, as long as you put a banana in it, you will NOT taste any of the spinach. Promise.
You didn’t like Amazing Greens? It does smell like grass. LOL. but I thought it tasted good. But I never thought about cooking with it! Hello?! I am such a knuckle head sometimes! Well, I will need to finish my bottle of this up before I try out Incredible Greens. I dunno… your green eggs and jam… looks kinda scary. Now drinking it… yum.
I swear they tasted amazing! It’s the same frame of mind you have to use when trying a green smoothie for the first time…couldn’t taste the greens at all (if anything, they were actually a little sweet)!
Of course I only tried the AG straight, and while I didn’t really prefer it, I think it might be good mixed into some hummus. You should totally give that a try!
Ok, I’m definitely going to try this! Since I suggest greens to my clients for supplementing, I need to know what I’m suggesting. I know I get plenty of greens, but most people would freak out if they ate as many vegetables as I do. I do think I was a rabbit in a former life. Thanks for the review Heather!
Haha, I think the same thing about myself…especially last night when I put away a quarter of a head of cauliflower dipped in a mix of spicy mustard and Greek yogurt. I think I found a new favorite dip!
Just ordered some. Can’t wait to try it!
Woo hoo! I really think you’re going to like it…and you HAVE got to try it in some scrambled egg whites! Soooo good!
I like you, love crazy concoctions. I think I will love it. Green smoothies are my favorite – and I normally make my eggs with some mashed in banana and protein powder, cinnamon, nutritional yeast, whatever else I can throw in (I call them pancakes). So I’m definitely down for some green eggs in the end. Will report back with what I think. Thanks for scoring us all such a great deal!
Oh wow! I’ve made something like paleo pancakes before that were just mashed banana and eggs, but all your other add-ins sound great! I may have to try a few new combinations like that!
And you are VERY welcome!
Hmmmm…. you may have sold me on it. Pay day is here soon so I will head on over and buy one 🙂 Worth a shot. Looking forward to trying it and giving it my own review.
Awesome! Let me know what you think! I’m excited to hear another point of view…BB is a pretty good sorta-non-biased test subject (he likes green shakes and wheat grass shots)…the real trick will be trying to get my mom or dad to give it a go!

Great review! I’ve been looking for something like this to add a boost to my smoothies — and it’s always nice to have a good recommendation.
I’ll never forget the first time I tried a green juice — it took me an hour of toying with my glass and eventually closing my eyes to make it through. Sometimes it still does because I’m perpetually afraid of the “yardage” taste — even if it’s for no good reason 🙂

So, I’ve been reading through your endorsement of the greens and something called “Green Vibrance”. Have you tried this yet? It’s supposed to taste pretty bad but be wonderful for you. How does the Greens compare/contrast with this?I would love to find something that is just as good for me as the Greens but doesn’t taste so nasty.
And could you tell me how I can reach/email Jonathan Bechtel?
Like I said in response to your other comment, I’ve not heard of the Green Vibrance, so I can’t say how it compares, but it makes a HUGE difference to me how a product tastes. I mean, it can be really REALLY good for you, but if it’s a struggle to get it down, why do it? I’m not sure if Jonathan would mind me sharing his personal email, but if you have questions about the product, he’s always up to date on the IG Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/HealthKismet OR you can contact Health Kismet’s customer service! http://www.healthkismet.com/help/ 🙂
Thanks very much!
You’re welcome! 🙂
I’ll have to give Incredible Greens a go! I’ve had several different green superfood powders, but I’m always looking for something new to try 🙂
