Ta-Ta-Ta-Tasty Tuesday!

Sorry, I just couldn’t help myself! πŸ˜‰

Tasty Bite Review

A few months ago, the people over at Tasty Bite contacted me about trying some of their Β all-natural vegan and vegetarian entrees. I’d seen a few of the packages in stores here and there (Costco and World Market), but never had a chance to look into them. So after I received their email, I hopped on over to the website to see what they were all about.

I don’t typically buy pre-packaged meals because they usually have a mile-long ingredient list filled with things you can’t pronounce and of course there’s always a TON of sodium, but I have to say, after perusing the site for a bit, I was impressed with what I saw…quick fix meals in convenient pouches with only a handful of ingredients and a sodium content that wasn’t outrageous! WHAT?!

So I decided what the heck and agreed to put my TASTES to the test!

I never expected the company to be so generous, so I was super excited to receive SIX packages (each with two servings) of their top sellers! I’ll admit, I hoarded them for a while, but I’m actually glad I did, because over the last couple of months with the hustle and bustle of the holidays, these little packets were absolute LIFESAVERS!

Tasty Bite Asian

Being the NUTTY girl that I am, I couldn’t help but start with the Asian noodles first!

Tasty Bite Kung Pao

I added some broccoli, carrots, and chicken to “beef” up my bowl (haha!) and thought it made a nice-sized meal…perfectly satisfying! While I would have liked to have had a bit more sauce, I thought the flavors and texture of both the Kung Pao and the Pad Thai were great! The noodles weren’t mushy at all and the peanuts added the perfect crunch!

Tasty Bite Indian

Next, I was really curious about the flavors of the Indian entrees!

I’m usually pretty wimpy when it comes to spice so I was a bit nervous at first, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that neither one of them were too much for me to handle. After trying out the warmed lentils on top of a colorful kabocha salad…

Tasty Bite Madras Lentils

I took the other serving and made some flatbread tacos!

Lentil Taco with Oat Flatbread

With a consistency somewhere between refried beans and salsa, they made for a bit of a messy meal, but it was definitely TASTY! The Chana Masala was eaten on its own in the mere minutes between coming home from a night shift and faceplanting into bed…so yeah, no picture proof…but that was actually my favorite of the two! I loved the sweeter spices and it was really filling!

Tasty Bite Rice

I saved the rice for last since I’m not normally a huge fan. I haven’t gotten around to trying the Thai Lime just yet, but if it’s HALF as good as the Ginger Lentil, then I may have to consider myself a rice-loving convert!

Tasty Bite Rice with Egg, Guac, & Salsa

I’ll admit the spice in this got my nose running a bit, but let me just say I was more than grateful for this meal after coming in from some arctic Tennessee temperatures
a couple weeks ago!

Yeah, I’d say it was pretty ta-ta-ta TASTY TASTY! πŸ˜‰

I can tell you right now that I will most definitely be looking into getting more of these…I’m loving the look of theΒ combo kits they have available online!

Disclaimer: Tasty Bite sent me these products free of charge, but I received no compensation of any kind for this review. All of the above opinions expressed are my own.

Have you ever tried any Tasty Bite entrees or sides?

What’s your favorite pre-packaged quick-fix meal?

  1. I haven’t seen these yet but they could be beneficial when you’re in a pinch for time!! As always I like the runny egg! πŸ™‚

  2. I tried these too and they are SO good! I was surprised because I mean, you can usually tell when something comes out of a package but I couldn’t even tell from this one.

  3. I’ve never seen these before – maybe they’re not available in Canada? They sound good though, and that’s awesome they’re not crazy high in sodium.

My favourite pre-packaged meal would have to be frozen pizza!

I seriously need to give frozen pizza another chance…I used to eat the crappy cheap stuff when I was in college, but I remember that it CAN actually be tasty! Hmm, I might pick some Amy’s up on my next shopping trip!

  4. Pua says:

I’ve had the Indian flavors before and they’re really good! Great for a quick meal.

  5. I have not tried these products, but I see them all the time at Costco. I will have to snag a few packages the next time I go. πŸ˜‰

You take the best food pictures. Seriously.. I just.. Top notch, drool worthy quality. πŸ˜‰

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Awww, thank you so much, Natalie! And yeah, definitely pick some of these up…they’re great to have when you don’t have much time (or energy) to be creative for dinner!

  6. it’s great to know that the texture of the noodles were good for these packages! not many are! what a fun review! πŸ˜€

  7. I haven’t seen these, but they look SO good! My favorite quick-fix semi-pre-packaged meal would probably be Aidell’s pre-cooked Italian sausages mixed with some veggies and a sprinkle of feta cheese!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Ohhhh, I’ve seen those at Costco! I was like thisclose to buying them, but considering the dent that needs to be made in my freezer right now, I talked myself out of it. Good to know they’re worth a try though!

  8. LOVE Tasty Bite! I had a chance to sample some a few months back as well and I was definitely impressed! They were super tasty for pre-packaged food and I was super impressed with the ingredients list – I could actually pronounce everything! My favorite was the Madras Lentils.

  9. You ate noodles!! That totally counts as pasta. Put it on the calendar. We’ll celebrate every year. It’ll give us a reason to get together. I’ve never tried this brand, but I love the Seeds of Change grain blends. They go great with a bowl of sauteed veggies. I’ll keep an eye for these at the store though.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Haha! Yes indeed…I ate pasta…and I LIKED it! 😯 I can’t say I’m an absolute noodle hater…anything mixed with peanut sauce is bound to get my attention! πŸ˜‰

  10. Sarah Pie says:

Flatbread tacos AND yolkporn!? Great post πŸ™‚ I’ve seen lots about these Tasty Bites , haven’t tried them yet but if everyone keeps raving about them I may have to hunt them down!

  11. Never seen these before! You def make them look delish though πŸ™‚

  12. I have always been curious about packaged Indian meals like this, I am constantly trying to get my mom to try these since she likes the not-so-real-food frozen ones so much. Aaaand now I am craving Channa and eggs.

  13. I THINK we have this product here in Australia- well definitely the lentils ones! Can’t say I’m a fan of packaged grains because they need to be massively beefed up….just like you did with the noodles! I can understand how useful they’d be in a second though!

We have this blend of rice/peas/curry here which tastes ‘just like an Indian curry.’

It did not taste ‘Just like an Indian curry’. It tasted like lies.
