I don’t always think of myself as a writer.
Heck, if you told High School Heather…or even College Heather that she would one day start a blog and spend a big percentage of her life writing…for FUN…she’d have slapped you silly. Still, most days, I consider myself more of an artist. An artist who cleverly arranges and REarranges words until her little perfectionist eye is content. I’m sure there are a lot of bloggers out there who can just sit down and pump (I seriously just started to type pumpkin) out paragraph upon paragraph of enlightenment, and there are very odd occasions that I get a moment of clarity like that, but I confess that most of my ideas are sparked by my visual senses.
Whether it be a recipe post (what are THOSE??) or a random update post, I like to look through my photos for a bit until all of a sudden…
EUREKAAAAA!*
*Please tell me I’m not the only one with the theme to Eureka’s Castle stuck in my head. Please tell me at least ONE of you know what I’m even talking about!
Obligatory sassy selfie after registering for Blend 2015 on Sunday Night. I may or may not have been on the clock when I did it. I may or may not have illegally worn my Blend 2012 t-shirt instead of a scrub top. I may or may not give a shit about any of that because…
I’M GOING TO BLENNNNNNND!!!
Who’s coming with me…to the land of mountains, microbreweries, and minor changes in your ability to taken in oxygen which I could swear make you get drunk faster…even though it’s all just a myth (ie, high altitude)???
My faithful Camelbak. Ya know, I wouldn’t be surprised if one day I wake up with it permanently affixed to my hand. I’m more than a little proud of myself for upping my water intake in recent weeks…I’ve been averaging FOUR of these a day! 😯
The AMAZING sunset that I got to witness after a fantastic walk at the park in SIXTY FOUR DEGREE (that would be ~18ºC) weather! Oh if only every week could start out this way. I woke up a bit earlier than planned on Monday afternoon (remember, I go to bed around 8am), but after seeing how beautiful it was outside, I had my SHORTS on and sneakers laced within minutes.
And hey, I finally…excuse me… I FINALLY finished my book! Yep, and I only had to check it out THREE times…the last time selecting the large print copy to help boost my slow reader self-esteem a bit. I swear I flew through the last half of the book. Hmm, maybe I’m onto something here… 😉
A moment of awe. Yep, I’m talking about that moment when you unwrap a Quest bar and are face-to-face with some mouth-watering #chunkporn and there is no one around to help you appreciate it. No way you’re not sharing that! The moment…not the bar…
get cho own, beeeeetches! 😛
A simple dinner at home after a lonnnnng day of errand running. May not look like much, but I’m telling you, I’ve been craving this scrambled egg (with lettuce and mayo…yes, you read that right) sandwich for over a WEEK! There’s just something so mentally and physically satisfying about squashing a craving after that long. Amiright?
The fruit of my labor. Hey, just because I said I had a lot of errand-running to do, doesn’t mean I can’t get a little something out of it. GNC must’ve known when they lured me in with they buy three get one free sale. Yeah, I know…I really needed more bars. And those Quest chips. And that cute little PINK pill box! But hey, I gave myself props for getting out there under $40! 😀
Now be sure to hop on over to Spoons, give my girl Amanda (who is going to Blend!) a shout, and see who else is indulging in a bit of randomness this week! Maybe it will be Purple Yellow Red AND BLUE! 😉
If you could assign ONE color to this week, what would it be and why?
Who’s coming to Blend with me?!
SO I’m super glad that you ended up deciding to go to Blend because… uhm… one weekend of Spoon to Broccoli action in 2014 was nowhere near enough. Aaaaaand now we have to figure out a way to make the next FOUR months go by faster. I know time is flying and all, but still… it seems like way too far away.
Right?! I’m definitely in need of some spooning…er, I mean… 😉 I can’t wait! Things are a lot closer in Boulder too so I think it’ll be much easier to do things as a group and omg, the hiking trails! If I ever go missing during the weekend, that’s where I’ll be! Lol
I am coming to BLEND!! I will teach all of you nasty Swiss words. While I straighten your hair.
Ohmagoooooood, getting soooo excited!!!
Hahaha! Sign.me.UP!! You should see the size of the goofy grin on my face right now! 😀
I am … MAYBE coming to Blend. Unfortunately I really, really need to lock down a sponsor this year prior to buying my ticket. Or win the lottery. Either will do.
So, hopefully see you there???
Well then, consider my fingers, toes, and eyeballs crossed for you girlie! 😀
eureka is such an awesome word, people should use it more often…
So jealous re- blend – want to go soooo badly! But Scotland to Colorado is one pricey vacation!!
And also totally lusting after your bar haul – quest bars are my guilty pleasure but we can only get them online and they are sooooo expensive as they have to be shipped in from the states. That’s it, I need to win the lottery and then I can go to blend and eat quest bars all day and night – sounds like a plan!!! 😀
That’s it…will start a eureka movement! And sounds like you’ve gotta plan…just pack an extra bag to load up with Questies! Lol. Also, you should know I’m jealous of YOU living in Scotland! I really hope to travel there one day!
I’m so sad to miss you guys at Blend this year… but… Greece doesn’t suck as an alternative.
Your eye make up looks amazing in the first pic.
Aww, thanks love! I’ve been PRACticin’! One day I’ll be as good as my little sister! Lol
You will definitely be missed…like, no way in hell it’s gonna feel right not having you there. Looks like you’re just gonna have to take a shit-ton of pics in Greece and make me all kinds of jealous because I’m still a little mad at you at the moment. 😉
hahah. I would’ve typed pumpkin too…..
I wish I was going! I’ll make it one of these days. It’s just most likely my house will fucking explode if I venture that far and leave my children in the care of lehubs that long 😉
And I can’t believe you can read and walk! That’s amazing. I can read and pee. Does that count for something? No shame.
Bahahaha! Totally counts. And yeah, I can only imagine the shenanigans that would ensue soon after your departure…with a hunch that lehubs would be the instigator. Lol
I BOUGHT A TICKET TO BLEND. In other news, I’m pretty sure I’m going to be broke by the end of May, but whatever.
Heather, do a review on those GNC buys. Please! Especially those quest chips.
Ask and you shall receive! I’ve finally managed to polish them all off. I’ll get to work on a review post for next week! 😀
Ughhhh I think Blend is the weekend of my RD exam! 🙁 I swear I’m thisclose to planning a road trip down south just so that we can finally hang out!
That.would.be.AHHHHHHHHHHHHHMAZING!!! Girl, we’ve known each other for TOO long not to have met in person. Just prepare yourself…I’ll probably pick you up and swing you around! Lol
I seriously want to come to Blend soooo bad! Cross your fingers that some American company hires me and you bet I’ll be dancing my way over!
I totally shared that chunkporn with you, probably while you ate it 😉
Fingers, toes, and EYEBALLS crossed! Lol. I can see it now, the King of Blend! You and Travis will definitely be outnumbered!

I’ll see you at Blend!
YIPEEEEEEEE!! You and Amanda gonna try to match again this year? 😉 Lol
So wish I was going to Blend this year so we could enlighten the blogging world with the Eureka’s Castle theme song!
..ANNNNNDD now it’s stuck in my head.
Haha! Yes!! Oh girl, one of these days we’ll hopefully talk the girls into hosting a Blend on the east coast so it won’t be so far for us to travel! Would love a chance to meet you! 🙂

I’m thinking of Blend. Maybe? I don’t know. I went to Colorado twice last year and while I love it I was really hoping for a reason to use my miles for somewhere else. Going to think about it for a week and decide then.
Totally understandable! When they had the first one in Colorado and the second in Utah, I was really hoping they’d continue to switch it up each year so I could mark some new places off my travel list (which is embarrassingly long)! But it really is a lot of fun…and the trails are absolutely amazing!
