Sometimes I forget that I’m a bit peculiar.

Sometimes what sounds like a perfectly sensical idea to me can furrow the brow of others.

But then, as I quaff my piquant Blueberry Watermelon Mint Smoothie, I realize that I am in fact a genius and must now bestow my abundant knowledge upon you laymen (or women). πŸ˜‰

Blueberry Watermelon Mint Smoothie.

Because quite frankly, my dear friends, this flavor juxtaposition is far too titillating not to share.

Let it be known that while my GENIUS abilities flourish in the skullery, my grammar skills are practically nonexistent as one can observe from the three out of five fragmented sentences in this publication. But hey (yep, there’s another one), I can make farcicial use of a lexicon!

Not to be confused with a MEXICAN…that was yesterday’s recipe! πŸ˜‰

This looks beautiful! And that’s a lot considering I don’t even like watermelon. I’d consider trying this for the fact that I know blueberry and mint works surprisingly well together. I only know that for the fact that I randomly tried a flavored water in that flavor.
    I like this….a lot:)

  2. Does it seem like there should be some alcohol thrown into this recipe somewhere? Or is that just me? πŸ˜‰

  3. Tara says:

Food blogs can be such a tease while living abroad…this has been immediately bookmarked under “Must Try When I Have Access to Enormous American Supermarket.” (As have many of your recipes!)

Love your blog; keep the good and #strangebutgood eats coming! πŸ˜‰

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Haha, awww! But totally worth it with all the sights, sounds, and flavors you’re getting over there in Korea…just checked out your blog and I’m drooling all over myself! Lol So cool that you got the opportunity to teach abroad! How long will you and your man be there?

  4. Well hello summer deliciousness! Perfection my friend!

  5. lindsay says:

you said titillating. Which makes me thinks of tits, which makes me think of laura. hehe

  6. I love the word titillating. Hee hee.

You could totally make this Mexican with a little tequila. πŸ˜‰ I may do so… love your oddness. xoxo

  7. Yum that actually sounds like a very winning combo in my book! I will have to give this one a go πŸ™‚

  8. I don’t think this is weird at all! Holy deliciousness!

Nowwwww.. Can I move in for the summer? Because a watermelonless winter here in Aus is not fun! πŸ˜‰

  9. All it needs now is some rum. πŸ˜‰

  10. I’ve never tried watermelon in a smoothie! Although…I think I second Chelsea’s suggestion πŸ˜‰

  11. You make me laugh, Heather. I love playing around with a Thesaurus but sometimes some of the words really don’t work. Do you remember that episode of Friends where Joey writes a letter and instead of saying heart he says pumping arortic something or other. Lol.

I love the flavour combo in this. It looks super refreshing. Your glass is purdy too.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Hahaha! Omg, I must’ve missed that episode! Totally sounds like something Joey would do!

Thanks for the sweet comment! It really was a great combo…I’ve been dreaming of it ever since! Good thing I froze extra watermelon! πŸ˜€

  12. To be honest, it has never even occurred to me to put watermelon in a smoothie and adding vanilla protein powder sounds like a really different combo too, but now I was to try it so badly! Creamy, minty watermelon sounds bomb.

  13. You peculiar? Why that’s just absurd. I like you just the way you are. I also like watermelon and mint together too. Throw in a jalapeΓ±o and you’ve got yourself a fresh and fiery summer salad.

  14. Definitely an intriguing combination! Watermelon, mint and vanilla protein powder . . . interesting! I’m definitely not afraid to try it though. I love trying new and different flavor combos.

  15. Rach says:

Haha! Reading this made me laugh! Love your word-choices. πŸ™‚ And I wouldn’t think to make this combination, but it DOES sound really good!

  16. I think this sounds amazing! I love mint during the summer especially when paired with watermelon. So refreshing!

  17. I think that sounds really good! I’d be willing to try it!

  18. Oh my GOSH, Heather, that looks Sooooo good! I love watermelon in anything, and with mint, it’s delicious! (Watermelon + feta + mint = sooo good!) Have an amazing rest of your weekend!

  19. Heide M. says:

    I’ll have to try this.

  20. Okay I don’t even like watermelon (I know, gasp!!), but maybe I could learn to love it in this smoothie?? Dave loves the stuff so I should probably try this…AND we are going back “home” this week and grabbing the blender we forgot! Perfect timing!

Also I got really excited when I saw my button on your sidebar! Which you are on the blog again this weekend! (<–that is not really a sentence…fragments are fun!)

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Oh girl, you’ve GOT to give it a try! The taste of the melon pairs PERFECTLY with the blueberries…I really couldn’t believe it!

Aww, so happy I made you happy…and now you’ve made me happy again…I have to go check your post! Fragments and wordiness are skills that have taken me YEARS to master! πŸ˜‰

  21. I like peculiar. I have been looking forward to this recipe for DAYS! Is it weird I’m about to go freeze some watermelon now??

  22. Titillating always sounds like such a dirty, sexual word to me. It’s like “tit” and “tickling” and “licking” all put together. Sounds like fun, actually. As does this amazing smoothie creation. FEED ME.

  23. Allie says:

I am so impatient for blueberry season to hurry up and get here already, I want blueberries in everything! Like smoothies! Or just a big bowl of fruit salad, topped with some mint. And maybe some black pepper…

Hah, would you believe I had frozen watermelon cubes up until about a month ago? I had saved them from a watermelon thinking they’d make a great snack…they don’t, but I bet they’d be delicious in here! πŸ™‚ P.s. I loooooove your lexicon. I used to read dictionaries for fun, so I like to think I can hang, but Citrullus lanatus definitely threw me!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Haha! I have to say this was a fun post to write! And yeah, I learned that frozen watermelon isn’t exactly a tasty snack…thanks for reminding me that I STILL have some in the freezer! Time to make another frosty refreshment! πŸ˜‰
