Things I’m Loving This Christmas

Hello my little elves!

Only 3 more days until Christmas! Is everyone finished with their shopping?

Well guess what! I AM!

Ha! How’s that for the world’s worst procrastinator? In less than an hour and a half, I had presents for everyone on my list…and a few extra just for me! πŸ˜‰

I’ve been excited about so many things this week (besides my record-breaking Christmas dash), that I figured it was about time for a Β “Thursday Things” post…so, in no particular order, I present to you:

ThingsΒ Im Loving this Christmas!

Decking the halls my scrubs and breaking out the Christmas accessories!

I’ll have you know I drove my co-workers crazy while flicking my jingle bells all day long.

Festive DIY manicures

I’ve been wanting to do this for a while but hadn’t been able to track down a good green color until just the other day…

Wet ‘n Wild’s SaGreena the Teenage Witch and Essie’s Jag-u-are

I’ve gotten so many compliments! πŸ™‚

Lights, lights, and more lights!

I’ve actually driven out of my way a handful of times this week, just to see this one house…the picture really doesn’t do it justice…each and every aspect of the architecture is outlined in lights making it look like a little gingerbread village!

I would LOVE to hang lights on my house, but the weather never seemed to act right whenever I found the courage to actually step foot on my roof…I do not have a fear of heights…I have a fear of falling…and I do that rather well.

Perhaps you’ve seen the shirt that I was the inspiration for?

Feeling the Love

I can honestly say that even though we’ve been pretty busy at the hospital this week (everyone trying to get all their medical needs taken care of before the end of the year aka “We’ve met our deductible honey, looks like we can finally take Timmy to the hospital for his broken leg”), it’s been a week of good laughs, Christmas spirit, and well, you already know about the cookies! πŸ˜‰

Just this morning, I had the sweetest little old lady in for a CAT scan. She was extremely nervous since she had no idea what to expect. I did my best to help ease her worries and by the end of the procedure, she was smiling and laughing saying, “I can’t believe I thought you were going to stick needles in my head!”

On the way back out to the front lobby, she turned to me and said, “Honey, I hope you have a very Merry Christmas” and gave me one of those characteristic grandmotherly hugs…with the back rub and everything! I went back to the department and told the guys I wanted to put her in my pocket!

The Saga of Good vs. Evil

Evil…

Meet your destiny!

If I didn’t know any better, I’d swear I was sweating sprinkles…”swinkling”?

I have not missed a single workout ALL week…I even got up this morning for a run and went back to the gym after work for Bodypump!

Woo hoo!

Oh and just so you know, I’ve been cookie free for 2 whole days now…I honestly feel like a different person (you know, the kind of person that doesn’t start twitching at the mere mention of “dough” or “bark”). Of course, I wouldn’t have been able to do it without this little healthified treat…

So good, that it’s appeared more than once this week!

Oh and obviously, there’s one more thing left to mention…

My love for holiday-themed dishes!

Look, it matches my nails! πŸ˜‰

We’ll just ignore the fact that this is one of like 6 or 7 other festive mugs that I keep finding in a box labeled “Christmas miscellaneous”…bought most of them last year after the holidays and forgot all about them…so it’s like Christmas each morning…because of course I’ve been drinking out of a different one every day…duh!

What are you loving this Christmas?

Do you buy gifts for yourself for Christmas?
I blame my sister…she’s so much like me that anything I get for her I want too! haha!

when I was younger I used to want to be a school nurse just because I loved their cool scrubs! Despite the fact that blood makes me queazy and I still don’t know how to use a thermometer correctly πŸ˜‰ All about the fashion, right?

This christmas I’m loving the fact that my family is home!

  6. I LOVE your nails and your accessories!!! Omg that yogurt looks amazing. I love pomegranate arils! Merry Christmas almost! πŸ˜€

  7. I am definitely loving the manicure! Too cute. We gave ourselves some NY time this year for the holidays and now we have to pack up for a whirlwind trip to TN and back for a mere 24 hours…yikes. I’m gonna just get all festive and not worry about the fact that I haven’t started packing and I now have to buy gifts I wasn’t expecting to have to buy! Let the festive time begin! Merry Christmas my friend! I hope you have an amazing holiday!

  8. Ha love those jungle bell earrings! Ugh I dread the day I get my own house and have to put up Christmas lights. I’m definitely getting a guy to do that one for me! I’ll just hang back and put ornaments on the Christmas tree haha. Pumpkin yogurt looks delicious and so pretty! πŸ™‚

  9. Hahahahaha swinkling is my new favorite term. That’s exactly what I’m going to be doing too!

  10. I looooove your nails!! I totally buy myself Christmas gifts. I’ve bought myself raw honey, a Lollihop box of treats, and totally upgraded and bought a Jade yoga mat the other day (life changing event, right there!). And yay for little old ladies spreading sweetness to strangers… my “what country are you from” lady and your CAT scan lady! πŸ˜€

  11. This year I bought a gift for myself and asked my parents to contribute whatever they can. It’s a new camera and I absolutely love it!

  12. Love your nails! Just reading this post got me into the spirit! (Not that I wasn’t already πŸ˜‰ haha). Have a wonderful holiday weekend, Heather!!!

  13. Lou says:

Oh you are so festive! Too cute.

I must be scrooge as I have nothing festive going on – it’s too hot, I’m living in swimmers and shorts.

Don’t even have a tree as it would be far too tempting for my Misty to pull down, Ha.
