Hello loves!
I hope you all had a fantastic weekend filled with delicious food, good company, and of course a healthy dose of R&R…because those are the things good weekends are made of!
Although it went by faster than the time it takes a nut-butter addict to put away a jar of gourmet peanut butter*
*No, I’m not sitting around fantasizing about jars of creamy, buttery, stick to the roof of your mouth spreads…pshht! What gave you that idea?I’d have to say this past weekend was pretty great!
Delicious Food:
I know what you’re thinking…and I told you guys I’d be thinking up new ways to use avocado during my nut butter-free Lent! I’m serious guys…nothing’s off limits…
Wonder how it would taste on ice cream?
BB and I went to Kentucky this weekend to visit some of his family and one of the things I love most about traveling with him is trying some of the restaurants that he likes.
Those fajita nachos were by far the best nachos I’ve ever eaten…and that steak?
Oh laaaaaaawd!
Tender…juicy…melt in your mouth deliciousness!
Good Company:
Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you guys, BB joined a band…
The Hairy Sprouts
I’ll be sure to let you know when they go on tour…maybe they can hook up with The Black Eyed Peas and The Red Hot Chili Peppers for one nutritionally balanced totally rocking concert! 😉
Rest & Relaxation:
On our way back from Kentucky, the weather was nice so we decided to take the scenic route…
We happened to find a great little spot with a large pond.
Perfect for fishin’…
And picture takin’ 🙂
You guys have no idea how good it felt to be behind my camera again…it feels like it’s been MONTHS since I’ve taken a REAL picture!
Of course there was also a bit of dish cleaning, laundry doing, and errand running, but it’s not so bad when you mix it up with movie watching, outdoor exploring, and gumbo making (more on THAT tomorrow!)
Did you balance out your weekend?
Tell me two things you treated yourself to over the last two days….one food and one activity.
We headed to TN this past weekend to hang out with Tony’s family for his birthday. It was absolutely beautiful! Looks like you had an amazing weekend. I’m glad you got a chance to relax and enjoy some down time. I hope you have an incredible week!
Well happy birthday Tony! You definitely deserved a well-balanced and relaxing weekend m’dear! Hope you are having a great week too!
As much as I’m into the avocado cereal thing, I just can’t support giving up butter for lent 🙂
Looks like a fun weekend! I definitely made an effort to balance things out – I don’t know if you saw my Philly post, but holy hell, I didn’t eat anything on Saturday after that bender (for work, of course). A run and a fast on Saturday balanced things out.
As for your second question – what food haven’t I treated myself to lately? Ha. Activity-wise, I went grocery shopping in Chinatown on Sunday, one of my favorite errands, and really took my time – brought my camera, took in the sights, and walked for about 4 hours straight. Basically took myself on a date with Manhattan!
Ahh, that sounds like the PERFECT weekend to me! I’ve done the same thing in Nashville at the huge year round farmer’s market. Just being able to savor the sights and smells and not having any time restraints does amazing things for the soul!
I didn’t see your post, but it sounds like it was quite the weekend! I’ll have to check it out!
photography is like riding a bike 🙂 you can always pick it up again! looks like you still have that killer eye of yours – the pictures are beautiful!
p.s. avocado cereal? you’re crazy. I like it 🙂
Awww, thanks Jenny-poo! That means so much to me coming from you! I’ve seen what you can do with a camera! 😉
I’m crazy and I know it! (to the tune of LMAO) Lol

Oh you did not stick avocado on cereal! Different strokes for different folks…right?
I like both your pretty lake pictures and BB’s hairstyle. I’d see that tour 😉
Those fajita nachos look awesome! And avocado on cereal? Now THAT’s something I’ve never seen before! You’re hilarious. 😀
This weekend I treated myself to fro yo and a new magazine!
