That KIND of Week

T.G.I.T!

Thank GOD it’s Thursday!

That’s right folks, I know most of you still have one more day to squeeze out before welcoming in the weekend, but today is my Friday and I’ve definitely EARNED the right to celebrate it!

Forty hours FULL of dashes back and forth to the emergency room, squabbles with belligerent drunks who think it’s a good idea to hop on a motorcycle after TEN beers, and more scans for “I’ve been hurting for like a month” than I care to even count!

Needless to say, after I clocked out this morning, I immediately flipped into weekend mode starting with a quick and DELICIOUS breakfast:

Vanilla casein protein mixed with peanut flour and water and topped with vanilla blueberry clusters and the last of my farmer’s market blueberries!

Whoa, hold up…back that thing up a minute…what KIND of granola?

Only the KIND that makes you literally SWOON over your bowl!!

I randomly picked up a bag at TJ Maxx a week or so ago thinking I’d save it for one of my future Foodie Pen Pals, but something just told me this morning that I “needed” it in my bowl and…

OMG, I’m in LOVE!!

So much in love that it might’ve KINDa sorta made another appearance for once I woke up this afternoon…

Microwaved sweet potato, cottage cheese, TJ’s Valencia PB, chia seeds, and granola….I the sweet p was a little dry from the micro nuke so I ended up drizzling a bit of  maple syrup over the top and then it definitely hit the spot!

Just the KIND of fuel I needed to get me through the rest of today!

As usual, I haven’t had ANY time to get things done around the house this week (I’m actually shocked that I’ve managed to post every single day) so after I polished off my bowl-o-yum, I decided to push up my sleeves and knock out a task I’ve been putting off for a while now…

After THREE MONTHS of sitting in the box in my garage, I FINALLY broke out my new lawnmower!

I couldn’t believe how simple it was to “assemble” (since it was pretty much 95% together straight out of the box)…I also couldn’t believe how many bajillion calories I probably burned once I mowed the front and back yards AND swept off the sidewalk and driveway!

Nothing like a good sense of accomplishment to start off the weekend!

But that wasn’t my only reward for a job finally well done…while I was working in the yard, I noticed a package on my doorstep!

The other day, I managed to find a few minutes to take Laura’s advice and check out the Healthy Heart Market. I was looking for one thing in particular (sodium-FREE baking powder) but of course, I couldn’t help myself and tossed in a few more things!

They carry a bunch of different things, but specifically low sodium, no sodium, and gluten-free products. And if there is ONE thing I look for in prepackaged foods, it’s is ALWAYS the sodium content.

Did you know you should consume no more than 2300mg of sodium per day…1500mg if you have certain health conditions? Sodium sneaks it’s way into a LOT of the foods we love…even if you’re not much of a salt-lover (like myself), you’d be surprised what your favorite cereals, granolas, and snack bars clock in at!

Btw, the KIND granola only has 20mg per serving!*

*I swear they’re not paying me for this review…they don’t even know who I am!!

I accidentally bought two packages of the chips, but after I cracked open a bag and had a few with my favorite salsa, I’m actually KIND of glad that I made that mistake!

And I couldn’t help myself…I’m a sucker for new snackage…so I might’ve dunked a few in the mustard too 😉

HOLY TROPICAL OASIS! This stuff is a mustard-lovers dream come true!

Now if only the jar was like 10 times bigger…so I could fit my face in there!

But anywho…before this post gets any more random…or I find any more places I can possibly place a pun…I’ll bid you all a good night!

Plus it’s getting KINDa hard to type with one hand shoved into a bag of granola! 😉

i KINDa love this post. It’s adorablee! Way to get out & break a sweat girl. Now go and enjoy your weekend!!

  4. Man oh man, everybody raves about this granola.
I love mowing the lawn and the visual sense of accomplishment you get at the end.

  5. Gah! I do NOT miss cutting grass. When I still lived at home, it usually fell to me to mow the lawn and… *shudder*… probably one of my least favorite things to do. Granted, our lawnmower was kinda old and wonky, so that might have contributed to it. But these days it’s nice to not have to worry about mowing grass or shovelling snow… especially that last one… Up here in Canadaland, we get -tonnes- of snow, and I prefer to get my exercise in other ways 🙂

    Happy Friday!!

Ugh, I had my first experience with shoveling snow a few years ago…we had our first big (like really big, not just 3-4 inches like we usually have) snow storm and my driveway was COVERED! I knew I had to get out there and shovel it if I planned on getting my car out of the garage for the next couple of days so I got out there…with a regular shovel! Omg, it was a sight to see! Thankfully, my neighbor didn’t let me suffer too long before he came out and offered up his snow shovel. Then I thought I was in the money! Oh yeah, I’m shovelin’…look at me go…20 minutes later I had maybe 1/8 of it done! Luckily, my OTHER neighbor came by about that time with a shovel arm attached to his tractor and saved me, but I STILL couldn’t lift my arms for like 2 days after that! Haha!

  6. Uh, yeah- you need to enter my KIND giveaways, lady! There’s one every month!
Imagine this – KIND sends you 12 bags of granola, in 6 different flavors. EVERY one of them is good- but the peanut butter is TO DIE FOR. I gave 6 bags away and kept 6 for myself (one of each flavor) but had to eventually hide them in a box in my pantry, because having all of them open on the shelf allowed for WAY too easy access for a handful every time I walked in there.
    Whew!
I am SO IMPRESSED by the lawnmower. Seriously. You’re my hero.

THEY HAVE PEANUT BUTTER?! Omg, you’re right…I DO need to enter your giveaways! Of course I just missed the most recent one (bummer), but I will definitely keep an eye out! None of the stores around here carry them, so finding some at TJ Maxx was a major score!

And thank you! I have to admit, I’m pretty proud of myself! 😀

  7. Ugh I hate mowing the lawn! I’m so glad I live in an apartment now so that I don’t have to do it anymore! 😛

Also… key lime mustard?! That sounds amazing!

  8. I so need to try this Kind granola!! GF granola… I’m in!! I so need to cut back on my sodium. I have been feeling very swollen lately. More water…less sodium!

  9. I am a chips and salsa addict and I agree finding low sodium products is important and sometimes tricky.

And oh my that key lime mustard looks amazing. I’m glad I’m not the only one with a mustard addiction. And you know me and my random combinations haha.

    Foodie twinkies <3

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Um, I may or may not have ended up with 2 more things of mustard after this past weekend (5 if you count the fact that 1 of the packages is a small 4 jar sampler!)…oops? 😉

      Foodie twinkies for life!

  10. Considering how awesome KIND bars are, I’m not surprised their granola is equally as tasty. I’ll have to keep an eye out!

  11. Kendra says:

That KIND granola looks so delicious; I am a huge granola fan, so I may have to search out this brand…Those chips also look great–I have found that fried tortilla chips don’t always agree with my stomach, so I prefer baked ones:) I would love to try that mustard as well; it looks like such a unique and delicious flavor. In my opinion, mustard is about 100 times better than mayonnaise–especially spicy Dijon mustard (SO good!!).

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-MEN! Spicy dijon is where it’s AT! It’s hard to believe that I used to hate mustard as a kid…I would put ketchup on EVERYTHING, but let any of that yellow stuff touch my food and it was OVER! Lol

Oh my gosh, I am a granola fiend! This one is definitely worth searching for…with stats like these you don’t have to feel bad for shoveling handfuls into your mouth multiple times a day…not that I’ve done that or anything! 😉

  12. Brittany says:

KIND granola is delicious. Once I open a bag I have to portion out a bit and hide the rest on a top shelf in my pantry so I don’t eat way too much in one sitting. It’s like crack. lol 🙂

  13. Meg says:

WHAT!? I need that mustard in my life right now. I have mustard ALL OF THE TIME and that stuff looks and sounds UNREAL babe!!!!!!!! WOW 🙂 yummy yummy yummy! I know it already 🙂

A huge congrats to you and putting your lawn mower together by yourself baby girl! I was going to give you a high five for that yesterday, but I thought I’d show off your muscle instead muahahahahahha!
