Eggcellent Entertainment

Happy Friday everybody! Got any exciting plans for the weekend? Do tell since I have no life and would like to live vicariously through each one of you! 😉

I realized today (ok, I’ve actually known this for a while) that I’m a little weird. Well, at least to NORMAL people anyways. Let’s face it, we food bloggers are a rare and misunderstood breed! Am I right, or am I right?

Some of my “weird foodie quirks”:

Most of my food revolves around the color green

I get THISEXCITED over a nearly overflowing bowl of oat bran
And now I am craving oat bran!

I have started a heated romance with Kombucha
It’s seriously all I want to drink now! Good for my body…bad for my wallet! :-/

I think a butternut squash stuffed with tofu, chickpeas, and chocolate peanut butter is totally sexy 😉

I make smoothies with mixed salad greens because I’m all out of spinach
Btw, you can’t tell the difference at all!

I think beans make a perfect dessert

Just say the word “hummus” around me and see what happens!

But one thing that certainly is NOT weird: recording my first Cadbury Egg experience! Nope, not weird in the slightest keeping in mind the steep price of this little creme filled nugget! 😉

So what did I think of the creamy goodness that has people raving the moment Easter season approaches? Well, you’ll just have to watch the video!

What are your plans for this weekend?
We’re supposed to have great weather tomorrow before it starts raining again on Sunday so I hope to get out and enjoy it!

  1. My obsession with kombucha is going to make me homeless!! It’s dangerous. At first I read “heated kombucha” and got a little scared haha

Bahahaa! I couldn’t agree more– us food bloggers are in our own little tribe of some sorts that no other normal person seems to understand. I don’t even want to try mentioning nutritional yeast, coconut butter, chia seeds and so many more exotic foods that us foodies can’t live without. When I started blogging and found other bloggers who spoke the same food language as I did, I was utterly gleeful 🙂

Currently I’m craving green pancakes. And oat bran. And coconut roasted bsquash. And hummus. Don’t even get me started on kombucha 😉 I blame it all on YOU

    • I know exactly what you mean! When I realized that this is what I’m passionate about and that there were other people out there like me, I was ecstatic! Like I said, totally not weird to us “abnormal” foodies! 😉

  3. Haha, I love your video! I can’t believe you didn’t love that egg- I am kind of obsessed with them 🙂

I think food bloggers are a weird bunch- but in a good way! Let’s face it- most people probably don’t get as excited as we do to go grocery shopping, or squeal with excitement when eating nut butters, or put spinach in everything… but that’s why we’re so AWESOME!

green is definitely up there, along with kombucha in a wine glass. Wallets are not happy, but my body sure is!!
Love this Heather, we are rare breeds!

  5. I remember loving Cadbury Eggs….but I think at the price you paid for it I wouldn’t be too impressed, either 😛 Now; if it were a kombucha that you paid that price for…that might be livable. If only I was classy enough to drink mine out of wine glasses!
hah, I love that what is “weird” amongst most people is totally normal among bloggers. that coconut cake thing I posted the other day isnot your typical cake, but I’m obsessed…though I think the best reaction I’ve gotten was when I had eggplant “bacon” with lunch yesterday. We have this high school-aged girl who comes in to work to help us out/learn about the lab on Fridays. She sees my plate and goes “WHAT are you EATING?!” with this priceless look on her face. Normally I’d feel embarrassed but it was just kind of funny 😛
Now….could I please have one of everything pictured here? Pretty please?
    Enjoy your weekend, Heather!

    • Oh my gosh, I get the same thing from my co-workers! I just give up trying to explain what it is or what’s in it since they probably won’t even understand half the ingredients! Haha!

Geez! I almost forgot that I want to make your coconut bake! Thanks for the reminder!

  6. gahhhhhhhh droooooollll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Ma Ma Megan says:

I’m so scared to try kombucha. If I fall in love with it I’ll have to pay for it! and that stuff is expensive!!

Your stuffed butternut squash is totally sexy. I want a bite! Just one? 😉

  8. This post made me feel normal! I LOVE it! I could totally eat every meal with you and be completely happy! We are heading to the eye doctor for Max today…UGH, that means money I don’t want to spend. Oh well, the price you pay for having kids. Gotta love em. Have a great weekend!

  9. Vivianne says:

I feel like every foodie has some really interesting quirks (; I always love colorful meals.. if you are going to pick one color though, green is the way to go!

I love trying all different kinds of hummus… I just ate some roasted red pepper hummus with carrots & cucumber earlier (:

  10. Jenny says:

Oh man that’s right I forgot how much that little egg ended up costing you!! How insanely $$! 🙁 I would have licked it until it was all gone haha the longest cadbury egg eating experience ever 😀
And that is one humangous bowl of oats :O
