Overrun

I know what you’re thinking…

“Awww, isn’t he the cuuuuuuuuuuuutest?!”
(yes, that is pronounced with 47 u’s)

While I can say my little photogenic man IS quite the cutie, I think it’s time I show you guys what goes on behind the scenes at Casa de Broccoli…

The floors

The coffee table

My poor couch!

And yep, that last pic would be ME covered in hair!

Yesterday I decided I needed a plan. With a quick trip to the store, I came home on a mission!

To brush his hair?

Oh no, this isn’t just any old brush…

this is the mac daddy of all de-shedding brushes!

Notice the cat shaped pile of hair in the background?

Yeah, this puppy (pun intended) is totally going to save my house, my wardrobe, and my sanity!

And the best part?

He likes it! This is the face I got when I stopped brushing!

I guess while I was brushing, he got to thinking of some tricks for entertaining you guys…

“Look Ma, I can stick my tongue to my nose!” πŸ˜‰

And well, I couldn’t let little man have ALL the fun…

While at the store, I picked up something for a little trick of my own!

Mwahahaha!

  1. Cute cat! πŸ™‚ The video is marked as private though?

  2. Amy says:

Awww he looks like my little man Toby (and between him and Charlotte who’s black AND white) nothing is safe. We also get those kitty fur tumbleweeds that roll up the hallway whenever the front door is left open :s

Perhaps I should invest in one of these brushes! We’ve owned a few but nothing has ever managed to stop the onslaught of fur!

And I’m having the same problem with the video πŸ™

    He IS adorable though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Amber says:

    He is so cute!!!
My cat also loves to be brushed… he will actually start licking you while you are brushing him, then nudge you when you stop until you start again πŸ™‚

  4. same vid problem :\
haha, that brush looks like the same thing I use on my Teddie. I’m sure it’s much softer, though. Now that he knows you have that, though, you might be in trouble. He’s never going to leave you alone! lol. what a cutie πŸ˜‰

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Are you serious?? It shows up just fine on my computer. What is the frickin deal?! I swear I’m not THAT computer illiterate! Grr!

  5. Meg says:

Hahaha, my dog is the same way – espec in the summer πŸ™‚

    They’re worth it πŸ˜‰

  6. AWWWWWW πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

My doggy is a major shedder, too. He is a 100 pound golden with probably half his wait in golden fur!

  7. Yeah…. We have a German Shedder…..

Our house is CONSTANTLY covered in dog hair. Black has been Banned from the house and we keep lint brushes in every room.

We have actually been thinking about shaving her!!!

Do you have a swiffer sweeper vac? Its about the best thing that has ever happened to us! SO much better than sweeping!!!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

I’ve thought about getting one of those! All I have is the original Swiffer. It does a fantastic job of pushing the hair around yet failing at actually picking it up! :-/ I’ll have to check out the vac! Thanks for the tip!

  8. Megan says:

Haha we are currently having the same problem with our kitty and DOG. Only neither of them like the brush which is the bad part πŸ˜›

  9. PB&Jenny says:

I’ve never had a pet (well, unless you count Fresca. The fish that I got in 5th grade that lived all of 4 hours. RIP, bud) so I can’t relate to your shedding woes. That precious face though more than makes up for it though, huh? Such a cutie!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Aww, poor fishie! So small…so short of a lifespan! Can you believe I once had a Beta fish that lived for over 2 years?!

  10. Lee says:

My dog always tries to bite the brush for about 3 minutes before realizing that he actually likes being brushed.

  11. awww- my dogs love to be brushed. i have a collie mix and she has sooooo much hair (we have to shave her for the summer she gets too hot) but once i brushed her literally for 2 hours. you should have seen all the hair that came out and she loved every second of it

  12. Hahahahahahahahahaha! Brilliant πŸ™‚

  13. Chelsea says:

I’m the same way with my dogs! Their hair gets everywhereee but they love love to be brushed πŸ™‚

  14. Mrs. Fish says:

Hilarious! Doggie Fish would have walked away, she is not easily amused by toys. πŸ™‚

  15. That brush must be awesome! We don’t have any pets atm but we had a cat for a while and there was hair everywhere! That brush would have been awesome. Love the video πŸ˜€ We used to play with our cat with a laser pointer on the ground and walls. So fun!
Your kitty is so cuuuuuuuute! πŸ˜€

  16. Allison says:

HAHAHA I have a cat with white fur so I totally feel your pain. I am alwayyyys getting his fur all over my clothes. It’s awful! He sure is cute, though πŸ™‚

  17. Our house looks exactly the same (since your sweet kitty and mine could be brothers)–we now have a daily routine of brushing in the morning to keep hair down with just a regular brush. Now I’m going to have to look for a comb like that in stores here; looks so much less harsh than those Furminator things πŸ™‚

Woods has the same toy–sadly he broke it within the first few days of ownership. Here’s hoping yours lasts longer!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Oh yeah, I actually checked out the Furminator, but it seems to be so rough on their skin and I figured if I had any chance in this world to get him to hold still while I was brushing him, I needed to consider a little TLC!

  18. elle says:

I hear ya with the cat hair..my cat sheds like crazy too. I’ve found the best solution was to brush him at least once, or sometimes twice a week. The one I have is awesome, it’s called the Furminator!
