Hey guys!
Thank you all so SO much for all the sweet comments on my
first 10 miler!
Yesterday was definitely a rocking day for sure! After my “celebratory” pancake brunch, I drove into Nashville to meet up with my good friend Heather…
aka HEAB ๐
After nearly five months of not seeing each other, with her just getting back from a long vacation in Michigan and me not far removed from the California shore, we knew there would be a lot to catch each other up on. And what better way to do it than over a nice big trough bowl of fro-yo?
My very first bowl ofย Sweet CeCe’sย fro-yo!
At first I was impressed by the variety of the flavors (nice change of pace to the boring rotation here in Clarksville), but then…then I had a sample, and…
Oh my gosh, it was the thickest, densest, BEST frozen yogurt I’ve ever had!
After I tried about half of the flavors and was pretty disappointed in the cake batter flavor (totally just tasted like an extra sweet vanilla), we both decided to go with a mix of the
Original Tart and Strawberry Banana.
Topped with granola, almonds, and shredded coconut!
Then we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and enjoyed our fro-yo/chit chat al fresco!
Wow, is it just me or does my hair look really red in this pic?
And Heather, being the sweetheart that she is, also brought a little “present” for me:
Which I already put to good use in tonight’s dinner!
Whole wheat toast with scrambled cheesy eggs and hot pepper preserves
And you better believe those pieces of toast came together to make one of the best sweet/savory and smooth/spicy sandwiches yet!
Oh and FYI, I made these eggs with a little tip from one of mine and Heather’s favorite bloggers! If you want perfectly light and fluffy scrambled eggs, hop on over and see Sarena’s secret!
What a fun outing with Heather! I blame her for getting me hooked on coconut flour pancakes a year ago…I was addicted to those things! But clearly it was a healthy addiction. ๐ I think I may need to bring HEAB’s ‘cakes back into my morning rotation…stat.
Your froyo bowl looks incredibly delicious! And hot pepper raspberry jam? I need to find this!
We love Sweet CeCe’s! ๐ Glad ya’ll had a great time! And yes, congrats on the 10 miler. Jealous here. We’ve been out of running for almost 2 weeks due to working on a trailer (and the resulting soreness) and then both of us sick with sinus infections. Tried for our mile today since we’re still building up, and I couldn’t do all of it ๐ Granted, since then, I’ve been coughing up gunk out of my chest, so that may have been it.
Oh yeah, endurance is always the first thing to go, but what’s important is that you guys get better first! Miss you two! We need to get together sometime soon! Maybe do another Trader Joe’s tour? ๐
Fun outing! And those preserves sound really interesting. Perfect combo with the eggs for that sandwich :] You never fail me, my favorite sweet-savory egg sandwich maker! hehe. Saw Sarena’s trick the other day, but haven’t tried iit yet. The woman’s genius, though, so I have no doubt in my mind that they’re perfect!
How fun! Heather is so awesome! I mean I never met her , but I know she rocks, I can tell by reading her blog! She is such a beautiful person!
Yay for a fro-yo date! The combo you got looks good!
Oh wow, that present she gave you, I think I would like that, yum!
Happy Tuesday! love U!
That’s funny – I’ve always added water to my eggs – my grandmother told me milk made them too hard and she was right! But it is a good trick.
So neat you got to see Heather! Was Summer with her? I love seeing her!
And yes, your hair does look more red in that picture – but it’s not a bad thing. You always look great, even if your hair was in a towel ๐
Glad you got the jelly too, it sounds just like you!
Aww, Missy! You are so sweet! And that’s exactly what Sarena said about the milk! I never knew it weighed them down…you learn something new everyday, right?
Summer stayed with her daddy this time, but I’m hoping I can see her next time we meet up…can you believe she’s almost a year old already?? My does time fly!
How fun that you got to see Heather again! And I love those preserves – we have them at home:)
I’m a big fan of Sweet CeCe’s…it was the first fro-yo place I went to in Nashville! ๐
Also, the eggs and jam look deelish!
just playing catchup here after a weekend away…congrats on the 10! such a milestone!!
Thanks girlie! I hope you’re having a fantastic time in NYC! I’ve got some catching up to do too!
My two favorite Heathers in one!
I am so stinking jealous of that meet up! I bet you two lovely ladies had a blast! Your eats look perfect! I bet that was a killer combo!
Aww, we love you girl! If you ever come back to Tennessee, we three definitely need to get together!
looks like so much fun!!
the only downside about being a vegan, is not being able to eat froyo! i want to try some soo badly!!
aww you and the-other-heather look beautiful!!! ๐ And that froyo looks FANTASTIC.
Thank you Nicole!!
Your hair does look red in that photo and absolutely beautiful just like you. ๐
So good to see my favorite Heather in all of Nashville. You know there’s practically a Sweet CeCe’s on every corner now. We should do a tour.
Love you! Congrats again on the 10-miler, and now I’m off to check out Sarena’s egg secret. Still sad she moved back to Atlanta. Really wanted to meet up with that girl.
Oh, and happy to hear you liked the jam. I’m addicted to that stuff!
Sweet CeCe’s road tour…complete with complimentary spoons throughout and antacid tablets at the last stop! ๐
I’m so jealous there was a strawberry & banana flavour! Aside from mint & chocolate, that is the ultimate flavour pairing!
I’m so intrigued by your sandwich… I’ve always been too scared to try the sweet/savory combo! ๐
I love sweet and savory combos! You should definitely give it a try…after I saw Julie (Peanut Butter Fingers) try a cheese, egg, and jam sandwich, I knew I had to try it and I’ve been hooked ever since!
you and heather look adorable!
and yes your hair is really red and it looks great!
so does that jam…wow.. hot pepper + raspberry preserves. NICE!!! I want it! I have a thing for TJ’s mango chutney which is mango + red/hot pepper flakes. So good!
Thank you Averie! And yeah, I’ve seen that chutney, but wasn’t so sure about it…I’ll have to give it a try!
