Why Zombie’s Don’t Make Breakfast

Soooo…

Remember that scene in Look Who’s Talking where a sleep deprived Kirstie Allie gets up in the middle of the night to fix a bottle for Mikey and ends up pouring coffee into it?

Yeah, that was me this morning when I got off work.

Notice the differences in these two containers.

One is light brown, where one is more yellow in color.

One has a BLACKΒ top and the other is RED.

Cinnamon Maple Sprinkles” vs “Garlic Powder

Guess which one I sprinkled on my PB toast?

#fail!

Luckily, for the sake of my sanity AND my taste buds, I’m off night shifts until next week. After I got up from my little nap this afternoon, I redeemed myself…

P28 Protein BreadΒ

with farmer’s market sweet potato butter,Β Banana Nut Crunch PB, and

CINNAMON MAPLE SPRINKLES!

A great flavor combo…and not quite as shocking as PB and garlic πŸ˜‰

While I had some downtime at work last week, I decided to get online and do a little foodie shopping. I already showed you the protein powder loot, but check out my goodies that came in from netrition.com yesterday:

Vermont Peanut Butter, Teeccino, Byrd Mill PB flour, Protein Plus PB flour,
and 3 different flavors of Kay’s Protein cereal

And of course, the bread

Check out those nutritionals!

The nut butter is ok, but a bit underwhelming…the banana flavor seems a bit forced, whereas the bread went above and beyond my expectations.

The slices are HUGE and it’s soooo fluffy!
*insert voice of Agnes*Β

There was much research involved before this peanut flour purchase…I’ll be sure to keep you guys updated on how they fare against my beloved Trader Joe’s brand. I’m also super excited to try the Kay’s cereals since Katie’s always talking about how good they are!

Along with my foodie sabbatical, this week, I also put Pinterest to work for me in the car shopping department:

Now if you’ll excuse me, a handful of SUVs & crossovers await my test driving at Carmax in Nashville

Wish me luck!

Have you ever had an experience with MSI (mistaken spice identity)?

If you could have any car in the world, regardless of price, what would it be?

Call me old school, but I’ve always had a soft spot for vintage Mustangs!

You will like it girl!! I love their cereal!

I was so out of it today too, I put something in the microwave for 40 minutes instead of 40 seconds, lol! I caught it before I lit our place on fire!!

    xoxo <3

Oh no! It’s a good thing you caught it! Haha! I once put a frozen dinner in the microwave for 10 minutes (like the package said) even though I thought that was kind of a long time…turns out it was supposed to by 10 minutes at HALF power! Who does that??

  2. I have totally done that to my oatmeal and it was hard to recover from after I took a bite! YUCK! I’m glad you’re back to the land of the living! Good luck with the car shopping. I hate buying cars!

  3. Considering your BBQ tofu/jelly experiments, I’m surprised you didn’t gobble your garlic accident right up! πŸ˜‰ Thinking happy thoughts for you on the test drives… may you find your perfect car match!

  4. Oh gross man.. I have done something similar before! I put cumin in my oats instead of cinnamon once… trust me, not good when you are expecting something completely different! Shudder haha
That bread sounds great, love the nutrition facts and that they are big and fluffy!
Good luck with the car shoppin

  5. Ahh gross! I once had a similar mishap… I accidentally put garlic powder instead of ginger powder into my zucchini bread oatmeal! It was disgusting!

    Good luck with car shopping!

I wouldn’t have batted an eye if you *had* eaten pb and garlic toast πŸ™‚ And really what *doesn’t* Pinterest have?!

  7. Lizzi says:

I cannot express how much I want that banana peanut butter.

    …. and that protein cereal.

…. AND THAT MUSTANG. HOOOOOLY CRAP.

  8. Lee says:

    Oops!

I have a Honda Civic (an old one) and if I got a new car, I’d probably just want another one, maybe with more features, but I like my Civic.

  9. If I got a new car, it’d probably be a mid size SUV. A CRV or something. My little Nissan Maxima “Baby Blue” has been through hell and back with me (back bumper knocked clean off in hit and run) and she holds a lot, but I need just a little more space for my canvases.

BUT I do love the old classic cars. Mustangs are awesome!! My godmother had this beautiful red 1960s convertible mustang with white top roof. Ugh, I so loved that car so much. When she took us out, I thought we were the coolest chicks around, driving around Santa Cruz wearing star shaped sunglasses. I was 8. πŸ™‚

  10. OH NO! That would be a shock to taste garlic with the peanut butter instead of cinnamon….yikes!! When my oldest was only a couple of weeks old, I was very sleep deprived and we were using the bottles with the drop in liners, I had just warmed up some water, poured it into the bottle and realized I forgot to put the liner in…ugh.

Out of those cars I like the Element and the Pathfinder..

I never hear good things about Chevy HHRs..

  12. Hahah sounds like something I would do! That must have been quite the surprise =O
