Grocery Haul & Ninja Cookies

So I promised you guys some deets on the Trader Joe’s run from last weekend.

Well, I did a little shopping today too so I thought I’d just round everything up for one big grocery haul fiasco post!

Last weekend, I convinced BB that we absolutely positively HAD to go to Trader Joe’s…I lured him in with fro-yo

We both got cake batter and pistachio swirl and his looked like mine only without as much color….sprinkle hater!

Then it was off to TJ’s!!

I know, I know…WHAT was I thinking with those spreads? I’ve still got another 3 WEEKS until Easter!

And that is why they are buried in the deep dark depths of my pantry…but I swear they’re taunting me! 😉

Oh and that kalamata hummus is my new FAVORITE!! I’ve had to pace myself so as not to eat the entire container in one sitting.

In the not so sparkly (haha, get it…sprinkles?) natural food shopping, I hit up the local warehouse store to replenish my veggie bulk stash…

1 pound of greens, 3 pounds each of broccoli and carrots, 5 pounds of oranges, 24oz mushrooms and whole wheat English muffs x 2 (I’ve seriously been craving these lately…can’t wait to whip up some sort of drippy yolk sandwich!)

Then there was the other stop for the day…

I will have you guys know, I went into Food Lion JUST for the Chobani sale (yeah right…we all know my track record with keeping focussed in a grocery store) when out of nowhere, I was blindsighted!

I’m talking serious jujitsu pulled on me in the middle of the dairy aisle…

Marie’s all natural yogurt dressing, organic romaine x 2 (on sale for 99 cents yo!), my beloved Chobanis (2 for $2), cage-free eggs, green grapes, and…

BIRTHDAY CAKE OREOS?!

C’mon, I just couldn’t resist after being taunted with them for weeks on commercials, food blogs, AND Instagram!

I had a pretty tough week at work and Monday I actually went to THREE different stores looking for them, but couldn’t find them anywhere.

One whiff of the inside of the bag after opening and I swear my eyes rolled back into my head.

Then just when I thought my senses were overloaded with the sight of SPRINKLES,

I took a bite…

And then I passed out in the kitchen floor!

Ok, not really but seriously I believe it was fate for me to discover this cake cookie HEAVEN!

Confession time: What has crept into your cart lately?

Any grand plans for the weekend?
I had a very long and stressful week, so other than a housewarming party for a friend tomorrow, BB and I are just chillaxing around the casa!

Two things: I’m glad to see all you other BLEND Gals are just as obsessed with fro-yo (of the self-serve variety) as I am.

And two: I’m gluten-free b/c of tummy issues, and I could eat ONE cookie and not get sick, but there is no way in HELL I could eat just one of those babies. And I keep seeing them all over the interwebs.

Enjoy those a little extra for me. You know the moment when you’re like “I really shouldn’t have one more.” You should have one more for me. 🙂

Ahh, so good to “see” another Blend attendee! It’s getting closer and I’m so excited!

I will do the cookies justice…just for you m’dear! 😉

I love this. I feel so guilty when things sneak into my cart. Jelly beans crept into my cart last weekend… twice!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Oh gosh, I can’t even tell you how long I stared down a box of the gourmet jelly bellies last week at TJ Maxx! I was thisclose to carrying a box of the buttered popcorn flavor home with me, but somehow managed to find some restraint! Lol

  3. I have a problem with buying TOO much Chobani… I can’t resist a sale!! I definitely need to start freezing some soon before it goes bad – whoops!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Ha! You think THAT’S bad…check out yesterday’s post!

And just fyi, I’ve had Greek yogurt a month past it’s expiration date and been fine…couldn’t taste a difference at all. I think it has something to do with the straining process. 🙂

  4. You have some serious willpower to be able to buy nut butters even though you can’t eat them for another few weeks! I’m jealous of that chocolate almond butter… I can’t find any around here! If it starts getting to tempting sitting in your cupboard, you could always send it to me haha. 😉

  5. PB&Jenny says:

I admire your willpower. I would NOT be able to resist the allure of that cocoa almond spread. But technically the cookie spread isn’t made from nuts, is it? it should be fair game! do it do it do it!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Technically that would be right, but I included cookie based spreads as part of the deal…otherwise, I just would have gone to the store and picked up 18 jars of Biscoff the next day! Lol! I’m good…I’ve got this…plus, I’ve got all the avocado and birthday cake Oreos a girl could ask for…Hmm, maybe I should make some Oreo guacamole! Lol

  6. I LOVE TJ’s! I’ve also fallen in love with Costco lately. The amount of vegetables I can load up on is gross, but amazingly delicious! I love that my fridge is bulging with the good stuff. I’m hoping to find some time in the kitchen and some relaxation with my boys. First I need to get a few chores done!

  7. Natasha says:

I keep seeing these Oreo birthday cookies on peoples’ blogs, and I’m tempted to try them even though I don’t even like Oreos all that much hahaha!
    PS love your blog 🙂

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Haha! That totally sounds like something I would do! I just get so curious about stuff I see on other food blogs that I convince myself that I NEED to try it at least once…you know, like there is some sort of committee awaiting my final sign-off on birthday cake Oreos! 😉

  8. I NEED to try the birthday cake Oreos. It’s on my to-do list!! 🙂

  9. i know this is weird, but I don’t really like oreos… unless they’re IN something! Then I’m totally on board. Ice cream + oreos, oreo truffles, oreo cheesecake… all of those, I LOVE!

I didn’t know they made whole wheat Thomas’ English Muffins! I need those.

I found Biscoff Spread at our army commissary!! Last place I thought I would find it, but it was at the end of an aisle near the German foods. I just kind of stubled upon it. So that is what made it into my cart. And a 12 pack of Canada Dry Sparkling soda water.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Nice! I always get excited when my military friends ask if I want to go to the commissary…I found PB2 once, but I had just bought a crap-ton of peanut flour online, so I passed. I swear I could get lost in the international food aisle of any supermarket…I don’t know what it is that intrigues me so!

  12. Lizzi says:

I need those Oreos. And I need that cookie butter. I NEED THEM. I also need a Trader Joe’s in my STUPID GODFORSAKEN BULLSHIT FAILURE OF A COUNTRY!!!!!!!
    🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁

On an unrelated note, you have very nice thumbs.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Awww, I do believe that’s the nicest thing anyone’s said to me ALLLLL day…of course it is 12:59 in the morning…stupid back! >:-?

      Draw your picture woman!!
