So Long June!

 Happy Monday peoples!

I hope everyone had a good start to the week today.

Since it is now July (seriously, where the heck is my year going?), I thought I’d do a little recap of my June goals. Wanna see how I did?

Ovvvvvvvv’ COURSE you do! 😉

Finish reading Mockingjay…

Although I found the ending very disappointing, I’m happy to say that after a MONTH I finally finished the book. Then I handed it off to my sis who had it done in just TWO days! Lol!

Paint a picture (without a tutorial)…

While I didn’t paint a picture, I DID get some Crayola action going on!

Ahh, the smell of a fresh box of crayons…

Unplug for a one full day…

BB was out of town this weekend for work, so there’s no way I was going to miss out on the occasional text, but I did go a FULL twenty four hours without tv, internet, or any kind of social media.

The results?

Oops? At least BB’s happy! 😉

Of course, the next day, I went straight back to my old habits…

Before yesterday’s Pancake Sunday celebration, there was the most exquisite breakfast sandwich made of sourdough bread, Vegemite, tomatoes, cottage cheese, and a perfectly fried egg…I mean seriously, HOW could I not share that on Instagram?!

Juice every other day…

Can I interest anyone in a tasty beverage! I had so much fun breaking in my new juicer and I can’t wait to share some of my favorite combinations with you guys!

Aim for 4 liters (128oz) of water each day…

Strength training at least 3 days a week…

Not only have I been doing strength training, but I’ve also been experimenting with different circuit training, cardio workouts (the TKO Workout from Lindsay’s Tuesday Trainer is my new favorite…and I HATE kickboxing!), and enjoying some of the classes at my gym…love me some Bodypump and Vinyasa Yoga!

And apparently, I also love making awkward faces at the gym…AND taking pictures of myself!

Run 5K at LESS THAN a 9:00 pace…

Progress…

Take THAT! Woo hooooooooooo!

Host a guest post on KMB…

REAL guest post coming soon…from this girl…get excited!

And totally not her fault it didn’t make it up in June! I WILL get those questions emailed to you soon Katie…even though I’ve already said that TWICE! Lol

Finish reviewing NuNaturals liquid stevia AND post the giveaway…

If not, then click >>HERE<< for your chance to win!!

So how’s THAT for kicking some goal booty? I think setting those goals and holding myself accountable for them was JUST what I needed. I was just thinking during yoga class tonight how great June was to me.

I had so much fun experimenting with juicing and different workouts, and pushing myself toward something…I can honestly say that I feel 100% better than I did when I wrote
this post and I’m so excited about that.

I don’t really plan on making any goals for this month. I just figure I’ll keep doing what I’m doing since it seems to be working so well!

What about you? Have you made and met any goals lately?

Anyone out there as addicted to social media as me?
Please make me feel better about my…ahem, “condition”! 😉

I am a complete social media addict. I log on first thing in the morning, and it’s the last thing I do at night. It’s a disease!! Let me know if you find a cure!

  2. Nice job on all your goals! That’s awesome about unplugging for almost a full day – I need to do that.

I didn’t set any goals for June, but I’m making up a list for July. So far I have down that I want to go canoeing/kayaking, finally go to a yoga class, and go on a day trip somewhere!

Yay for yoga! I felt ridiculous in my first class, but now I LOVE it! And you know how I feel about canoeing/kayaking! Woo hoo, your goals sound great!

  3. Way to go with your goals,Heather! I especially admire you for unplugging – since I got my iPhone, that’s become impossible for me,seriously…
I was pretty disappointed with the end of Mockigjay, too,by the way. In my opinion, the first book was still the best. The last two sort of spoiled the awesomeness a bit.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

AGREED! I honestly think they could have just ended it all after the first book and I would have been perfectly okay with that!

  4. Haha you did awesome on your goals! And unplugging for a day would NOT be easy! Heck, even when I spent all day saturday in a truck, I still used eric’s mobile hot spot to log onto my computer 😉 haha

  5. Way to go–you did awesome with all of your goals! I’ve seen so many bloggers posting about monthly or summer goals–I think I may just have to sit down and hash out some goals of my own!

I’m toally addicted to social media–my husband always jokes that my iPhone is meerly an extension of my hand! Between Twitter and Instagram, I can run my battery life down pretty quickly–I actually have to keep an extra charger at work so I can re-juice mid-day!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Oh my gosh, I totally feel you on that one! I have to always carry a charger around with me…it never fails, after all my Instagram stalking, the battery is always nearly dead halfway through the day. I actually think Instagram is my biggest addiction…it’s just too easy to get lost in all those pics!

You should give the goal thing a go! I’m not usually one to make goals/resolutions (mainly because I know I won’t keep them) but if you need a little something to get you going in the right direction, it’s perfect! Just don’t get too many going at once…I’m so guilty of that and then give them all up in no time! Lol

Congrats on your nine minute miles! I am so addicted to electronics. Seriously I had to get my Macbook repaired this week and now I have to use the family computer (the horror; read: sarcasm because its an iMac lol) but I kept looking for it before I realized that it was in the shop. I mean I just read blogs while I eat, use pinterest to make my meals and theres just too many links on everything to click on! Talk about information overload! Oh and p.s. I love me some Vinaysa Yoga too! I just took my first class last week and I loved it! too many exclamations sorry (:

Actually…I’m quite fond of exclamation marks so go right ahead! 😉 Glad to know I’m not the only one who suffers from technology withdrawals! Haha!

And yeah, I’m totally digging the new yoga class! Before, the class had a flow that was really slow and boring, but with this style, I always feel challenged. I’ve been going once a week on my rest days and it’s helped so much to get that stretch time in and to also work on my core strength and flexibility! 🙂
