Snowpocalypse 2015

Helloooo from the icy tundras of Tennessee!

Selfie Sticker

Have I told you lately how much I hate winter?

Because I do…with a passion. Anything below 65 degrees Fahrenheit (18 Celsius) is winter in my book. Sorry I’m not sorry, but gone are the days of little Heather frolicking in the white fluffiness making snow angels and building snowmen. Give me back my summer dresses and flip flops…dammit!

Winter storm Octavia rolled in Sunday night while I was at work. Luckily, I heard about it before going in so I was able to hit the store for a few staple items for the week…

Got Milk?

That is…everything but milk!

I couldn’t help but laugh (and snap a pic, of course) of the milk cooler at Publix. It kills me how people in the south hear the word “snow” and all of a sudden it’s a fucking SNOWPOCALYPSE (duh duh duhhhhh)!! Quick, hide your women and children! Fill up on gas! Buy all the perishables items?? 😯

Snow 2015 - Drive Home

The roads weren’t actually too bad on the way home. It probably helped that most of the idiots who can’t even drive in the rain hadn’t really made it out though. What really sucked was waiting for my windows to defrost while I froze my ass off in the car.

Ice Selfie

Obviously I had to make an executive decision on which windows got scraped and which did not. Everyone, say it with me now, “peeky holes for the win!”

Snow 2015

After celebrating my successful drive home with one raging nap party, I awoke to see what the weatherman was calling eight to ten to twelve inches <- yeah, make sense of that! And this is only ONE of the examples of how men can’t freaking count. Yeah,uh huh,  surrrrre it’s that big. Lol.

Let it be known that Tennessee snow isn’t really snow…just frozen crystals. It doesn’t clump together, it just lays there, eventually melts a little, and then turns into one giant sheet of ice!

Shot of Coffee Selfie

So, if you’ll excuse me, I have blankets to crawl under, Netflix to watch, and many many mugs of hot stuff to drink for the rest of the week!

Are you one for snow-tivities or would you rather
watch from the inside?

  1. We got like 6 inches here in Richmond (which is a LOT for Richmond!) so we’re just bundling up with sweaters and blankets today and working from home!

  2. I love the selfie in the beginning. Consider my day made.

I don’t mind the snow so much, and I’d even like to go tobogganing this winter. It’s the cold which gets me and considering it was -5 F this weekend, and that doesn’t count the wind chill, and we actually had a wind chill warning in addition to the below freezing temps…yeah, then I don’t leave the house. I make a fire and eat cheese with the cats. Kind of like every weekend come to think of it.

That’s what gets me the most too…and it hasn’t even been THAT cold here. That’s the kind of cold that goes to the bone! Oh girl, I can’t blame you for hoarding up inside with the kittos. (ha, see what I did there?)

  3. Snow in the east is such a disappointment. That’s why god made Colorado and Utah.

  4. I am with you — winter is soooo miserable! I grew up in Pennsylvania and had ENOUGH last winter. I flew south – to Austin, TX. Loving the weather here — the coldest it’s been has been the mid-30s. 🙂 There is something to be said for bundling up and watching Netflix — buuuut I can DEFINITELY live without the cold.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Oh yeah, definitely! I’d love it if I could fly south for the winter…I could never survive a summer in Texas! haha

  5. We’ve been getting SO much snow here too. And even worse than the snow are the -30 degree Celsius temperatures. I’m DYING. I seriously cannot handle this. Also I just read on the Weather Network website that March is going to be colder than average too. I give up on you Canada.

Oh…my…GOD! Ok, I take back all my whining and complaining. I’m going to start digging a tunnel to C-land to come save you! Lol

  6. As long as the cheese section was well filled, that’s all that matters!

I’m ashamed to be complaining to others that it’s freezing here (for Summer) that it’s 23 degrees (Celsius) today and I have a hoodie on. Fail.

  7. Hi Heather – good luck with the weather. Hard to imagine that snow here – it’s high summer! I just stopped by to let you know you’ve been featured today over at Carole’s Chatter. Cheers

  9. Living somewhere where snow doesn’t happen much (and when it does it’s kinda pathetic) I always long for snow but I can imagine having tonnes of it all the time sure can get frustrating! But cosying up inside can be kinda fun 🙂 for a while at least!
