When I last left you guys, BB and I were about to go dive head first into a big plate of my Granny’s Chicken Stuff at my parent’s. Dinner couldn’t have been better but it ended with me indulging in a bit too much apple pie and BB and I having to stay the night (whoops!)
FYI: Don’t drink and Instagram…
The following are uploads with captions over a 3 hour time period following dinner:
Homemade apple pie!
Cornbread Tetrus
Getting drunk with the parentals…so much fun!
Don’t ask me why my mom has a coffee filter on her head. 😉
Kissy Kissy
Yep, pretty sure I’m feel right now! Lol
And by “feel” I obviously meant “drunk”
Mom
What?
Gotta love my dad!
Nice Appel dipper dined caged <3
Drunkeness and auto correct don’t mix but the pineapple upside down cake was pretty darn tasty!
After that, my phone was confiscated…
Which was probably a good thing!
This gem didn’t make Instagram but I just love my dad’s face and had to share
You know what’s funny about Instagram?
You can’t delete captions!
I swear I’m not a lush!
My weekend DID include sober other festivities…complete with a sushi dinner, trucker hats, fro-yo, and Trader Joe’s, but I’ll save that for tomorrow! 😉
Can I still call you guys punkins if it’s not fall? Hmm, winter squashies just doesn’t have the same ring to it 😉
So since I had the day off today, I was sure to kick it off in as productive a way as possible…and you know what? It just keeps getting better and better!
The morning started with this bowl of deliciousness:
Peanut flour oats with strawberry jam, a small banana, and chia seeds
And the peanut flour had only been in my possession for oh, about 5 minutes before this bowl was made, photographed, and devoured!
I’ve been waiting ALL week to receive my order from netrition.com and it finally came in!
I love shopping with them…can’t beat $4.95 flat rate shipping! *And no, they didn’t pay me to advertise for them…they don’t even know who I am*
After my oats and a cup of coffee, I got into crazy lady cleaning mode! Anyone else tend to get a burst of energy right after breakfast? I always do after a bowl of whole grains and I LOVE it when it happens on the weekend ’cause I always get a crap-ton of stuff DONE!
After three hours of total house clean-down, it was time for a little snack:
But not just any snack…my old faithful PRE-RUN snack!
After all that cleaning, can you believe I still had the itch to go running? In 40 degree weather?? I know…I must be crazy!
But it was a CRAZY GOOD run!
I was only shooting for 5 miles, but when I realized that I was only about a half mile away from that, I just knew I wasn’t done yet. I went back and forth from listening to The Ting Tings station that I have on Pandora to just having silence and time with my thoughts…nothing but the sound of my breathing and the Vibrams hitting the pavement (well, that and my near-constant sniffling…gotta love the cold!)
After I got home and took a super hot shower (had to do something to get the feeling back in my hands…ugh, I’m such a pansy), I needed food and I needed food NOW!
Thank God it only takes veggies about 5 minutes to saute!
Behold my pile of veggies topped withveggie burger (yep, same ones from all week) and a perrrrrfectly drippy fried egg!
After the pic I covered it in a blanket of nooch and more red pepper flakes!
Mmm, spicy cheezy deliciousness!
While I was eating, I checked Twitter and it totally made my day when I saw this tweet from Chobani!
Yep, looks like the burgs made it to Pinterest…they are officially famous! 😉
Oh, and speaking of Twitter, I love that Missy took the time to inform me of a VERY important holiday tomorrow…
Any guesses?
Don’t worry, you didn’t forget about Mother’s day or anything…it’s more important than THAT (just kidding…hi, mom!)
Pancakes aren’t just for Sunday people! Who’s gonna celebrate with me?!
And finally, I brushed my hair!
I rarely straighten my hair these days since it takes so long, but when I curl it, I can’t get a comb through it to save my life…and well, today I just felt the urge to get out the hairbrush!
Check out how LONG it’s gotten!
Hmm, maybe I should do pig-tails? 😉
Now I’m just sitting around relaxing and waiting for BB to get off work. We’re going over to my parent’s house for dinner tonight and my mom is making one of my favorite’s for dinner…
Saw this on Pinterest a couple of weeks ago and couldn’t help but laugh!
So, I hope you are all having a great week. I’m so so glad to finally say that my week is over. I’ve been working my late shift this week (9:00-7:30pm) and I swear not one single day has seemed to go by fast.
Example from today:
Please note this is AFTER I have explained everything about the scan the patient is about to receive.
Me: Ok, so…do you have any questions before we get started?
Patient: Nope!
Me: Ok then, here we go…*goes to step out of room*
Patient: Well, actually…
Me: I told you that already…remember?
Patient: Oh yeah, I remember.
Me: Alright, let’s begin the exam!
Patient: Now is this the kind of test that…?
Me: Well, like I said BEFORE…
Patient: Ok, now I’m ready!
Me: Ok!
Patient: Wait, one more thing…
Me: *starts thumping head into side of doorframe*
Proof that sometimes you just have to laugh!
Anywho…howabout that post title, hmm?
You guys should know by know that I kinda have a thing for alliteration…rhyming…and well, all the other things that fascinate school age children. So I thought what better day than to do a “three something” post than on a THURSDAY??
It took a little thought, but I finally found a connection to make this post possible..and yes, I’m a little proud of myself for that! 😉
NUMBER 1:
Spaghetti Squash!
I will have you guys know that I, with the help of BB, some safety goggles, and a pickaxe (kidding…sort of), cracked open this behemoth spaghetti squash TWELVE days ago and it has fed me many a day since then!
Sauteed with portobellos, red onion, and asparagus and topped with nutritional yeast, a perfectly fried egg, and a good drizzle of ketchup!
There were so many amazing flavors in this bowl! The savory egg yolk, the cheesy nooch, the sweet red onion…I was in Heaven for oh about 10 minutes…before it was devoured!
Looks like it’s time to pick up another squash! 😉
Number 2:
(Chocolate Covered) Sunflower Seeds!
I picked up a container of chocolate covered sunflower seeds on one of my last visits to Trader Joe’s. I just happened to “rediscover” them last week (aka found them in the back of the pantry) and since then I swear these little guys are finding their way into just about anything…a bowl of oatmeal, a pint of ice cream, the palm of my hand…
And every time I eat them, I can’t help but think of Sixlets…remember those?
Ahh, childhood memories! 🙂
Number 3:
Sweat!
Like I said the other day, I’ve been doing great about getting up early and getting my workouts in before work each day.
I’ve been mixing it up a bit with my circuits…combining moves using dumbbells, resistance tubes, and my own body weight in order to keep myself from getting bored.
Known fact:
Boredom KILLS motivation any day…no paper covers rock bull…I mean straight up,
homicide…cut into tiny bits, Dexter-style.
I can definitely tell a difference in my level of motivation from last week…and a few of my workouts have left me sore…which I actually love!
C’mon, don’t tell me you all don’t have some bit of masochism in you. We all hate the actual soreness…but we LOVE to complain about it! 😉
What are three things in you life you’re excited about right now? (alliteration & rhyming optional, but encouraged)
