Flashback Friday: California Randomness

Happy Friday my friends!

So a few pics seemed to sneak their way out of the California Friday posts and since it’s been a looooooong week, I feel I deserve to indulge myself in a little flashing back to WARM, sunny days, airplane rides, and pirate sightings!

My favorite of all the “in-flight” photos

Snacks on a plane!

Not quite as shocking as snakes…until you look at the ingredients in those cheese nips! πŸ˜‰

I have no idea what’s with the face, but I can’t help but laugh!

Behold the wall of kombucha…

And I’m still kicking myself for not grabbing the grape flavor! πŸ™

Boardwalk birdies…the one on the left was practicing his “tree pose” πŸ˜‰

And well, what’s life without taking a few chances…like possibly getting your head pecked off my a mammoth-sized pelican!

Local avocado honey at a roadside veggie stand

Posing with Captain Hook

I asked for his autograph, but he had a hard time with the pen! πŸ˜‰

An entire store in San Fran dedicated to those creepy Russian dolls
(I was too afraid to go in…so many little eyes!!)

The “underwater” bathroom at The Blue Mermaid

Yes I took a picture of a public restroom, but c’mon, LOOK at it…it’s gorgeous!

And just because it couldn’t hurt to see that glorious meal again…

Oh how I wish I could blink myself back there right now and sink my teeth into those parmesan crusted scallops again!

Ahh, that’s better…great way to end a week!

And now…for bed…at 9:00pm…because I’m just that hardcore!

Any weekend plans for Halloween?
A friend and I are thinking about going out…still up in the air since we decided last minute and have to see about things going on around town.

What are you dressing up for this Halloween? If not this year, what was your favorite costume in the past?
If I end up going out, I’ll probably cruise on down to the thrift store for some costume inspiration…or break out the school girl costume from a few years ago! πŸ˜‰

  1. You may be kicking yourself in the butt for not buying that grape kombucha, but I’m smacking myself for not purchasing that avocado honey! Looks like I need a trip back to the good ole’ Monterey… πŸ™‚ Great snap- shots! You still need to send me the pictures, when you have time, that is!

    Miss you! xx

    Mmm I want those scallops!

And some of that kombucha (another thing us Aussies can’t find in the stores).

And aww, that pelican is cute! He’s all fuzzy wuzzy! Also cool that he’s black. Ours are all white. Although….if you were concerned about his size, I don’t recommend you ever visiting a coastal area of Australia. The one’s here are easily the size of a 4 or 5 year old. They’re amazing to watch taking off though. Hard to believe such a massive bird can actually get into the air.

Oh wow, that big, huh? I bet it’s incredible to watch them take off! I didn’t realize you were from Australia!

  3. I love the in flight photo, too cool!!!
Not dressing up, but I will be taking my reaper, vampire princess and spiderman out for some trick or treating Monday night πŸ™‚

  4. Avocado honey?! That sounds so interesting!

No Halloween plans for me because I have a big midterm on Tuesday. πŸ™ Have fun if you end up going out!

  5. Snacks on the plane are the best! πŸ˜€

  6. Lauren says:

Avocado honey?! I would have bought some because I’d be so curious as to what that even tastes like! I could go for some Californian sunshine right now.

  7. Is that a pelican?? Wow, it’s so cool! Love the face it’s pulling, what a dude!
The in-flight picture’s gorgeous and I love your unimpressed face in the other picture… hope you had a great weekend!

    I like the bathroom πŸ™‚

I dressed up as a Fabulous Carrot on Friday and my husband was a bunny for Trunk or Treating at church. For handing out candy I will be a witch. My favorite costume was when I dressed up as Rose from Titanic and I had the bow of the ship in front of me πŸ™‚ I made it myself.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Wow, that Rose costume was pretty creative! I don’t usually include props in my costume because they end up getting on my nerves after an hour or so! πŸ˜›

  9. oooh avocado honey! sounds intriguing πŸ™‚

  10. Lauren says:

That looks like such a fun trip! I’ve never even been close to California so I’m just a tad jealous πŸ˜‰ And that bathroom is really cool-love it!

  11. janetha says:

Love the flashback! I am going to Cali this weekend. CANNOTWAIT.

  12. Confession… I LOVE those creepy Russian dolls and have always wanted a collection of them but never bought any or had any bought for me. πŸ˜‰

  13. Rach says:

Aww it all looks like so much fun!! Picture with Captain Hook is fabulous! And I totally used to have a set of those little Russian Dolls. My dad got them for me while he was in Russia one year. πŸ™‚
