Thoughts on a Thursday

Warning: This post is going to be COMPLETELY random!

First off, could this little guy get ANY cuter?!

Go on…I know you want to…here, I’ll do it for you…

Awwwwwwww!

Ok, now that we’ve all had our daily dose of Tiger cuteness, on with the randomness that has been my mind lately:

Someone puhhhh-lease tell me how on Earth I CONVINCED that I can keep a plant alive for more than a month…

Here’s what Mr. Rosemary Tree looked like almost exactly THREE weeks ago:

No photo editing…he was really that green.

Key word = WAS! 🙁

Is it just me or is it a bit early for these guys? I mean, can’t we make it to Valentine’s Day first??

The new PB Cheerios are pretty rockin’…

But the Dulce de Leche ones are even better…
especially with the new apple cinnamon flavored Chobani!

Let’s just say I was in a state of pure and unadulterated bliss this morning…ok, Christin, I guess your safe from my shenanigans for now…just don’t find the blood orange flavor before me!

Where…

has all…

this…

mouth-watering food been coming from??

Oh yeah, that would be MY KITCHEN!!

I have to say BB has definitely motivated me to get back to flexing my cooking muscles lately…can’t be feeding my man the same boring things all the time! 😉

I’m just sorry I’ve been keeping these from you guys…I swear if it weren’t for Instagram, I’d have hardly any pics at all!

Dinner by candlelight tastes 110% better!

Sometimes the best advice comes from a bottle of Riesling.

And sometimes? Sometimes you just need to let off some steam on facebook…

And then go to the gym…

I just hope I can walk tomorrow! 😉

And with that, I’m off to bed…

Tell me, what random thoughts have been going through your head lately?

Awww your little fuzzy man looks so much like my little fuzzy man!!! Too adorable!!!!

And I’m hankering for some of those cheerios. YUM! We get 1 flavour of cheerios in Australia (I suppose I should be grateful….5 years ago we didn’t even *have* cheerios in Australia).

You have my empathy on the rosemary. Black thumb of gardening death…..I has it. I currently have 2 tomato plants and 6 spaghetti squash plants in my backyard which are suffering some kind of white mould issue. On the bonus side, they are providing a city for white fly to breed. I’m sure my neighbours love me.

My rosemary is actually growing. It is the only thing that is growing. My kale is being eaten by green catterpillars as I type this. I’m devastated. Not that I should be. You’d think I’d learn. I kill cactus. Nothing can survive me!

  2. Lexie says:

HAHAHA, that tree. I understand. I feel like such a bad mother. Poor tree. I feel gutted when people tell me all plants and animals have some type of feeling…My currently rosemary survives whilst my bunny sits ontop of it all the time? Maybe she has, erm, a magic touch.

  3. Hahaha I suck at keeping plants alive too! I had a basil plant, but I killed it after two weeks. I guess that’s what happens when you don’t water plants at all? 😛

Running is my favourite way to blow off steam! I love how I can run SO much faster when I’m ticked off. 😀 I hope you’re feeling better about whatever it was that made you angry!

  4. Kate says:

haha that poor little tree. I am going to ask that if you post pictures of food, that you send me a bite so I can really have a deeper understanding 🙂

  5. Eric says:

It’s never too early for cadbury creme eggs. I wish those were made year round!

  6. I’ve been DYING to try those PB cheerios. The b-friend thought I was crazy for wanting them. He doesn’t understand my addiction to all-things-peanut butter.

Which led to the question: “Babe, if I was allergic to peanuts, would you still date me?” To which I answered: “Of course I’d still date you. There’s always almond butter…”

    😉

  7. Heheheheh I’m game for your shenanigans any time… bring it! 😉 Glad you found the apple cinnamon Chobani, it’s heaven! I hate that I can’t try the new Cheerios. I’ve been tempting the gluten fate a little too often lately and I am miserable as a result. I’ve gotta stop it. :/ Your shrimp and grits needs to happen right in my mouth though, like right now. Everything looks soooo good!!

  9. Dang you have been cooking up feasts! I miss my kitchen lately. I am about to become one with my old friend again really soon! Sorry you’ve been so frustrated this week. I hope things got better after that workout! Have a great weekend Heather!

  10. Kelsey says:

I am excited to try peanut butter cheerios and delicata squash (I have yet to try it!).

And don’t fret: I kill plants, too.

    Happy Friday 🙂

  11. Amber says:

Those cheerios look amazing! I am not usually a cereal fan, but love me some granola and yogurt… may have to try these!

  12. jenna k says:

    all that food looks wonderful!!
i love the pb cheerios, and i definitely want to try the ducle de leche ones and that new flavor of yogurt! yummmmm!
p.s. i may have gasped out loud at all those cadbury eggs. they might be my favorite candy on earth.

  13. Props to you for even *trying* to parent a plant! Practice makes perfect, right? By the time you have a real child, I’m sure you’ll be fab! 😉

I need to get my hands on a box of peanut butter Cheerios! However, the problem I have with peanut butter-flavored anything is that it leaves me wanting more peanut butter. I’d probably need at least a quarter cup on top of my cereal to feel satisfied!

And cheers to domestic diva-ness! You’re rocking it in the kitchen, girl! Care to share your shrimp and grits recipe? Yummmm.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Oh yes, pet…plant…then child. I’m working my way up the responsibility ladder! 😉

I think the PB Cheerios are pretty satisfying…of course I treat them more like a topping for yogurt or a dry snack with some fruit more so than having a bowl of it with milk…I’m notorious for finishing a bowl of cereal and being like, “oh look, I have a good amount of milk left…I should add more cereal.” Then I add to much and have to get more milk…it’s a viscous cycle! Haha!

The shrimp and grits were seriously done and ready to eat in like 10 minutes. I cheated and used instant grits…cooked them up with some water and added some shredded fontina cheese (of course just about any cheese would do). Then I added a couple of tablespoons of nutritional yeast, stirred that up and topped it with the shrimp that I just cooked in a little bit of olive oil, smoked paprika, and S&P!
