Peaches ‘n Cream

I could never pick just ONE
favorite when it comes to fresh summer fruit,

But I have to say peaches are pretty high up on my list!

And when combined them with a creamy mix of almond infused overnight oats, a sprinkle of cinnamon, and some candied nuts?

Well that just makes me wanna sing!

Wait a minute, they’re not talking about breakfast are they?

Well, they just don’t EVEN KNOW what they’re missing! ;)

So why don’t you get out some oats and yogurt, throw a few chia seeds around, and dance with your blender?…or you could just make this parfait….

Singing is optional, but highly recommended!

  1. My dear prom date, how did you know I stopped at the grocery store on my way in from the airport tonight and bought peaches and Greek yogurt? Stalker. ;)

This will be happening as soon as they have a couple of days to ripen. You, my friend, rock.

  2. Jessie says:

Ugh.. another amazing recipe that involves peaches. Can you believe I’m allergic to them :( :(

  3. You always know how to make your food so pretty. I swear I just toss mine in a bowl and snap a picture (if I remember) with my iPhone. I’m such an awful foodie… ;)

  4. This look soo good. So pleased I bought some peaches yesterday I might give this a go, but I’m sure mine won’t look at pretty hehe.

  5. This looks awesome! But it reminds me of the pureed peaches we serve to patients at the hospital… I didn’t think I would ever want to eat them, but this breakfast makes me want to! :P

  6. OMG. I was totally singing the song the moment I saw the title of this come through my Google reader XD TOO FUNNY. Anyway, you take the most beautiful photos of foooood. I wanna try this. I haven’t been big on peaches (or “mushy” fruit in general), but I think I could get behind this.

  7. Meg says:

why do you keep doing this to me love!? I cannot keep up with these amazing recipes your busting out! I need to try this! When I was younger, I would have a bowl of nectarines and cream (real thick heavy cream) with sugar sprinkled on top for a snack. :)

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Oh my, that sounds absolutely fabulous! I need to get my hands on some good nectarines. And it’s funny that you say you can’t keep up, because I just said the SAME thing to Laura last week! Haha!

I made your microwave cake today…err, yesterday? Ugh, night shift kills! It was FABUUUUUUULOUS! And it’ll be in my WIAW post this week!! :D

  8. hahaah i used to love that song!

  9. I am so with you- peaches are the best!
This is totally a “lauren” recipe here. I was like “I seeeee chia!!!!”

  10. Oh boy, that Peaches and Cream video brings back some memories! And this breakfast looks delicious – LOVE peaches right now!

  11. HOLY CRAP. How good does this look?! I want one. Now.

  12. Hehe, this just cracked me up so much.

I just tried overnight oats for the first time earlier this week and I’m definitely a fan – this looks like an awesome variation!

  13. Hahahaha maybe it IS what they’re singing about. Maybe?

    Ok. Doubt it.

That looks so incredibly delicious, and perfect for summmmah!

  14. This looks so amazing!! I just picked up some new greek style almond milk yogurt… so going to try it with that!!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Ohh, Greek style? I’ve heard of the Amande brand of almond yogurt, but I didn’t know they had a Greek style. Sounds interesting!

  15. *drops mic*
You crack me up. Loves it. I’m thinking peaches and (ice) cream.

  16. Helene says:

Ms. Heather – I am glad you are a nurse because if I fall off my chair at the computer one more time, I am going to need medical care. Traction? OMG, I swear I looked at this incredible recipe with its luscious pictures and started to have hot flashes. I am fairly new to being on a healthier diet but this is right up my alley. I can’t stop drooling. You recipes are totally faboo, and I cant get started quick enough.

There aren’t many things that will get me out of bed early on a Saturday morning – but NOW YOU’VE DONE IT!!! I’m going right to the farmers market at the crack of dawn (about 8 AM to me) to buy the biggest, juiciest peaches I can find – scurry home and start the lusciousness! I may even do the Ren and Stimpy Dance of Joy with my cats. I will send you further details…………

    • Helene says:

UPDATE: While I did get up and out to to the incredible Farmers’ Market and got lovely peaches, I have to wait until my next shopping trip later this week to make the Peaches and Cream. Why? Because I forgot the chia seeds. I am such a dufus! I have to remember patience is a virtue (?)

      • kissmybroccoli says:

Awww, poo! You could still do it without them, but honestly, I think chia seeds MAKE overnight oats…you just can’t beat the thickness they create! Can’t wait to hear what you think next week! Keep me posted!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Oh Helene! You just made my day! Although I’m not a nurse, but if you happen to bump your head in that fall, you have yourself a CAT scan tech at the ready! :P

Just picturing you dancing with your cats with peaches held up in the air…I can’t help but giggle! Lol
