Sushi Eating Zombies & Chuck Norris

T….G…I…F!

Even though my weekend technically started yesterday, I couldn’t be more excited for today…because now YOU guys get to join me!

The night shift has been…well, the night shift. Let’s just say that as soon as I think I have the hang of the whole sleeping/awake/zombie thing, I get a friendly reminder…

And that “friendly” reminder is usually me hitting a brick wall!

To say this week has been interesting would be a bit of an understatement…

I can’t make this stuff up people! Lol!

I have to say, the cliental is a bit more entertaining after the sun goes down! πŸ˜‰

Yesterday, I woke up at about 3:30pm and met up with my mom, my sister and her boyfriend to celebrate Tori’s TWENTIETH birthday…
Still not sure where all the time has gone. I swear she’ll always be the little snaggle-toothed 10 year old I left once I moved out of the house!

Ugh, now I feel old!

Anywho! We met up at Hananoki (no surprise there since we all LOVE it!) and while everyone else ordered Hibachi grill entrees, since this was technically my breakfast (remember, I JUST woke up), I kept it a bit lighter and ordered from the appetizer menu.

Pork shumai and seaweed salad!

This was my first experience with the steamed pork dumplings and I’ll definitely be getting them again! The wonton wrappers they were in were soaked wasabi and were perrrrrrrfect!

Unlike my last experience with wasabi! πŸ˜‰

Tori and I also split a rainbow roll…California roll topped with sashimi!

Topped with a bit of wasabi and some ginger!

Somehow, Tori weaseled her way into getting FIVE out of the eight rolls, but I had to forgive her…

Especially after she posed for this picture like three times! Lol

Happy Birthday Tori!

Oh and it looks like TODAY is somebody’s “birthday” too…or at least it will feel like it! There was a sudden change of plans the other day so unfortunately BB won’t be able to come home for another week,

Baaaaaaa-ut he and Chuck Norris were kind enough to stop by for the announcement of the NeoCell giveaway winner!

WithΒ over 15o entries, the winner of the free tub of NeoCell Collagen Sport is…..

Mmmm, ice cream!

Congratulations Jordan! Be on the lookout for an email from me shortly! πŸ™‚

Thank you all SO much for entering!

Any crazy stories from work/school this week?

What are your plans for the weekend?

Ah I am so craving sushi now! It looks amazing. I’ve had some bad experiences with wasabi in the past too where I’ve gone a bit ott on homemade sushi – not good. I loooove it though when it’s done right.

Haha, it sounds like you have a very interesting job–especially at night:D This weekend has been a busy one so far; today I have my ballet summer workshop performance, which I am VERY nervous/excited about!! Yesterday we went to the Veggie Fest Chicago (technically in Naperville), where I enjoyed a ton of delicious food–Indian dosas, samples of Manna bread, sweet potato fries, and many other things:) I will definitely be doing a veggie fest recap post on my blog as soon as possible!

  6. Being a nurse is perfect for accumulating stories! Even during my 3 month full time internship at a hospital last fall (I took the semester off), I accumulated all sorts of great stories. There was the crazy 4′ tall elderly woman who did drugs and threw her pureed lunch down my scrubs, the bloody 20-something guy who ended up having to get lots of serious surgeries following a late-night accident in a supermarket parking lot involving lots of alcohol/grocery cart racing, and the woman who got a concussion having very vigorous intercourse with her husband. Oh, good times πŸ˜›

I’ve been craving vegetarian sushi from this amazing macrobiotic restaurant allll day long and, after reading this post, I don’t think I can deny myself any longer. haha.
You and your sister are both gorgeous! What a fun birthday celebration…despite your weird sleep schedule. I don’t know how you do it!

I hope the end of your weekend was just as lovely as the beginning. (:

    Happy Birthday to your sister!!
