My First MIMM!

Hola amigos!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

I’m so excited today because I’m finally getting around to posting my very first
Marvelous Β in My Monday!

I’ve been wanting to join in on Katie’s Monday celebration for WEEKS now but have never gotten around to it, but this week I just had to jump on the blogging bandwagon!

Besides Sunday morning’s MARVELOUS pancake breakfast, there were a few other things that topped off my weekend!

Like I mentioned on Friday’s post, BB wasn’t able to return home this past weekend. Although I would have loved to have him home, I’m actually thankful for the time I had to myself.

Sound odd? Well, since I started the night shift, I feel like all my days run together…with trying to figure out how to cram in workouts, meals, and blogging into the few hours I have each day outside of work, it’s always go-go-go during the week.

So this weekend, I took a mental MARVELOUS break!

After tending to the boring stuff that HAD to be done (cleaning, yard work, CLEANING!), I had the rest of the weekend to do what I wanted. I still got in my workouts, but I also laid around the house watching Gossip Girl (guilty pleasure), caught up on some blog reading, and oh yeah…I went shopping!

Because, you know, that’s what I do when BB’s away! πŸ˜‰

I got a heck of a haul at the farmer’s market on Saturday morning which also included a little something special…

Grain-free, gluten-free, all natural cupcake anyone?

I’m not a huge chocolate fan, but after the first bite, I thought…

Eh, it’s ok I guess…

I could take it or leave it…

I might get it again. πŸ˜‰

I’ve got a FULL review coming soon on all the latest Nerdy Birdy flavors and word has it, there are only a few more hoops to jump through before they will be able to ship out of STATE!!

Wouldn’t that just be MARVELOUS?!

On my way home from the market, I stopped by Big Lots and scored a MAJOR bargain!

Puffed Kamut for $1.50?! Heck yes!

This should last me…oh, about a month! πŸ˜‰

But of course the shopping didn’t end there… oh no, I was JUST getting started!

Pretty makeup…

Mascara (LOVE it) and all natural lip balm (LOVE that too!)…

GORGEOUS nail polish colors…
The OPI is called “Mer-MAID for each other” and it was MADE to be mine!

You know, because I don’t have enough already! πŸ˜‰

A new snazzy phone case…
to replace the one that decided to break after it’s 50th tumble to the floor!

Grains and sauces…
I think you can tell which one I like the most! πŸ˜‰

Can’t wait to try this!

And finally, some peanuts!
The pesto ones were just alright, the BBQ ones were better, but the tomato ranch? Well, let’s just say, I drove BACK to TJ Maxx today and bought six more! Lol

And throughout ALL of that…

Can you believe all weekend, I only had ONE cup of coffee?

Who am I?!

What made your weekend marvelous?

And I think you might see me in a couple of months…you’re going to Foodbuzz, right? πŸ˜‰

  3. I need to make your dreamsicle pancakes- especially since I have all of the ingredients in my home! Well… except an orange (easy fix though, right?)
I love puffed kamut. I like to mix it with “real” cereal to bulk it up, and sprinkle a little cinnamon and stevia on top and add almond milk. OR- use it as a smoothie topping. YUM.

  4. Love your haul! Like you, I love looking at what other people buy at the store πŸ˜‰ Curiosity gets the best of me, hehe, I still can’t believe you don’t like chocolate though. But that cupcake does look aaaaamazing so no wonder you ate it. And check OUT your orange pancakes… holy moly! And you say you still need to improve your photo skills….? GIIIIIIRLLL PLEASE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-i7rz9CsIM lol

HAHAHA! Love it! But umm, maybe you could do me a favor and join the panel over at Foodgawker so some they’ll except my latest entries already?? πŸ˜‰

  5. I’m glad you enjoyed your “me time” this weekend. It’s always so nice to have a weekend with nothing planned every once in a while. I like to spend weekends like those shopping too. πŸ˜‰ Especially at the farmer’s market! Mine doesn’t have cupcakes like those though. Jealous!

My weekend was marvelous because I got to cover the easy floor at work and I went out for lunch with my roommate, who I haven’t seen all summer!

  6. i so want a gf cupcake now! Good thing I have some in the fridge from Luvy’s birthday!! πŸ™‚ But those are Tennessee cupcakes, so I’m sure they are better!

  7. De-lurking to say hi again πŸ™‚

That’s definitely a marvelous haul! Good food and fun makeup… some of my favorite things! It’s nice to have a weekend to yourself sometime, especially when your week is crazy. I’ve been trying to milk summer for all it’s worth and packing my weekends with tones of things to do, but I think I kind of overdid it because this last weekend, all I wanted to do was stay at home and lounge around in my PJ’s, and it was glorious…

Oh, and Gossip Girl is one of the best guilty pleasures, imo πŸ™‚

    • kissmybroccoli says:

AMANNNNNNNNNNDAAAAAAAAAA! Omg, I’ve missed you SO much!! You can’t just pop in after almost a year and comment on makeup! How have you been?!…well, besides overdoing it and then recovering in your pj’s (which I can totally get behind…as long as you have fuzzy slippers to go with!) πŸ˜‰

  11. Your farmers market finds look phenomenal. Love the colors. How can anyone eat badly when healthy looks so pretty!
I made a ginormous salad tonight, inspired by your build a bowls, with roasted shredded sweet potatoes, hard boiled eggs, red onions, cucumbers, blue cheese and sprouts, of course. It was out if this world. Thanks for the idea; love the layering technique.
    XO, XO gossip girl.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Ha! Love your sign off! And for the record…you sounded JUST like her in my head! πŸ˜‰

Mmmm, roasted shredded sweet potatoes…why have I never done that?! Mmm, I’m drooling just thinking of all those flavors together in one bowl…I bet it was fantastic!

  12. Robyn :) says:

The Circus and Balloon Fest made my weekend marvelous! BTW, the circus only had one clown and he was not a scary clown, imo.

I want one of those cupcakes. And that nail polish, but it may be a little too extreme for work lol.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Oh, ok…well that’s good. I swear I was scarred by Stephen King at a young age! Lol

And the polish? Girl, that’s what toes are for! πŸ˜‰
