Well, hello there my little cookie monsters!
Sounds like I’ve got a good amount of cookie crack addicts out there! And FYI, I made a little edit to yesterday’s post to include changes for different flours and protein powders. BUT if I didn’t manage to win your heart over with myΒ Thin Mint Cookie Pancakes, just wait until you see NEXT week’s stack…
They’re…shall we say…deLITE-ful?
Or perhaps so good you’ll want…some-moas? π
Butttttt (haha, I said butt) for now…how about we take our minds OFF pancakes and ON some Marvelous Monday action?
Join me, my favorite diva, and all the rest of the crew in doing our best to bring the weekend marvelousness into the week!
Since the man-friend had to go out of town for some business this weekend, I had a full TWO and a HALF DAYS all to myself!
And after finding out thatΒ my surgeon had “accidentally” been double-booked for Monday, thus postponing my knee surgery until this Friday,
I looked at the positive side of things and didn’t let it piss me off get me down…
Then I went to the gym and picked a fight.
Mr. Rubber Man never stood a chance. π
Afterwards, I came home, and (since it was SNOWING?!) decided to throw on some cat hair-covered yoga pants and live in them for the rest of the weekend.
Then I popped in this movie (and by “popped” I mean, clicked off of Netflix), lit my new favorite candle…
Seriously, I want to EAT this!
And did something I’ve been wanting to do for some time now…
I fixed my light box!
After re-tissue-ing the box and playing with the lights a bit, I got it back in action JUST in time for dinner…
Marvel at the light of day at 8 o’clock at night! π
Needless to say, I was a little excited. π
I spent the rest of the night hovering over my new toy chilling on the couch, catching up on blogs, submitting MORE pics to Foodgawker, and I even managed a trip to zombie-ville!
The next morning, I woke up to this…
Have you ever seen anything so beautiful in all your life?!!?*
*And this is what happens to me when my days are filled with old chewing gum-colored days and below freezing temperatures for weeks on end.
While it only got up to 45 degrees and I was still feeling pretty comfy in my yoga pants, I decided to raise up a couple of windows, push up my sweatshirt sleeves, crank up the tuneage and…
Demolish my kitchen in as little time as possible! π
And the survivors amidst the wreckage?
But for now, I’d like to give a shout out to my inspiration AND motivation, my girl β₯Meghanβ₯
Oh, and at the end of all that, I finally changed clothes…
Into DIFFERENT pair of cat hair-covered yoga pants!
To go run errands…because that way everyone will just think I’m on my way to the gym instead of the fact that I just hate wearing ACTUAL pants! π
Do you like wearing pants?
What was something MARVELOUS from your weekend?
Wow, it’s a montage of my eats, or a version of them anyway.
I think I just shed (not in a cat hair kind of way) a tear or two. I’m definitely a little misty so yeah, you can call me your girl. I’ll even be your body guard if you call me Al. Na, na, na, nah. Na, na, na nah. Pretend that was in tune.
By the way, I must make one of these boxes. It’s so much better than running outside in freezing temps to take a picture of my food and essentially chilling my dinner.
Thanks for a great weekend even miles apart. π
Awww, I wish I could hug you right now!!! Thank YOU for a great weekend! How’s the mouth doing, love? Do I need to come puree you up some Thin Mint pancake mush? π
PS, Lightbox…UBER easy! I used this tutorial: http://www.edibleperspective.com/home/2010/11/29/photography-101-the-light-box.html
I HATE wearing pants! I feel anxious/uncomfortable & all I can think about is changing back into cat-hair covered yoga pants. Haha
I realllllly hope the next pancakes are Tagalongs. I’m just sayin’…
Pants are overrated. If I could live in yoag pants of flannel PJ bottoms, I’d be one happy camper.
Seriously!? After those TWO hints, you’re thinking Tagalongs?! Did you just look at the pictures? π haha!
I need to make a light box!!!! Is it super easy?!
I am sorry to hear about the knee surgery, but I know all will be ok on Friday!!
I am loving the rubber guy! Mike and I saw that at dicks and talked about purchasing one!
Happy Monday love!!!!!!!!
Thank you sweetie!!
And seriously, the lightbox was the EASIEST! Came together in NO time! I used Ashley’s tutorial from this post: http://www.edibleperspective.com/home/2010/11/29/photography-101-the-light-box.html Definitely worth the “work” π
In my dreams I go to work and to the cinema and the opera and shopping in workout clothes (read – Yogapants). Who invented pants? Except the one who invented DIESEL should be covered with unsweetened chocolate sauce.
Hey, we should have join each other this weekend, really! My kitchen looked the same/worse and I was ALONE all weekend (I don’t even have a cat). Now I can only write, I forgot how to speak (it’s pretty scary when the only person you talk to for 2 days is yourself). Hmmmm, that veggie-pie!!!! That would be my dinner!
Watch out tomorrow’s blog, my friend. There is something JUST for YOU.
Happy Monday!
Hahaha! LOVE it! And actually, come to think of it, I didn’t talk to anyone for like 36 whole hours! That’s gotta be a record for me…I’m such a jabber-jaws! π
Aww, I’m off to check it out now!!!
I’m so excited for Spring so I don’t have to wear pants anymore. Yoga pants, shorts, skirts, leggings and dresses are where it’s at. :-p
I HAVE to make a light box! Actually, I think my husband would totally geek out on making one of those. He loves making things.
I wear yoga pants daily! I’m a stay at home mom so that’s my go to attire π
Marvelous was the cup of coconut coffee I just enjoyed with a little coconut milk and coconut oil. Holy coconut overload! Ha! Have a great Monday doll!
Ohh, that sounds like a cup of pure Heaven right there! Yum!
I used Ashley’s tutorial for the lightbox from this post: http://www.edibleperspective.com/home/2010/11/29/photography-101-the-light-box.html It came together in a snap! So easy!
I do like wearing pants. Thank you for asking π
That sucks about the double booking. Hmmm…. Double booking usually applies to things like hair appointments, not surgeries, right? Lol. I bet that rubber man was bleeding some plastic when you were done with him π
Your weekend looks super productive with all of those yummy-looking recipes.
How did you like Cake? I’m always looking for recommendations on new movies to watch on Netflix, but I don’t really trust the reviewers on there.
Haha, yeah, he was definitely wishing he had arms by the time I was done! Lol
I thought the movie was pretty cute! I really like Heather Graham…she’s so quirky! And I loved Sandra Oh in it…her character was hilarious!
i prefer yoga pants over jeans any given day. im excited for the pancake now.
Good luck with the knee surgery! I went through it last year, and its no fun. Can’t wait to see recipes for all that yumminess.
And you’re so right about pants…they’re a terrible invention.
Wow, I’m impressed by your lightbox – and jealous. I seriously need one of these because my flat is weird in that the rooms are well-lit but not enough for food pictures. Doesn’t make sense, I know.
Ugh, stupid hospital for delaying knee surgery. Don’t they have their priorities straight?! I hope everything turns out well on Friday and good for you knocking out Mr. Rubber Man :D.
Oh girl, I’m driving my mum crazy with my refusal to wear – and consequentially shop for – pants :D. Hey, tights and dresses can be worn all year round, too, right?! It’s totally different when we’re talking running pants, though. Well, running tights, actually, so I’m not sure that counts … Sorry I’m not sorry for still wearing them more than one hour after returning from a run ;).
Um, yeah, so those yoga pants may or may not have been the same ones I wore to the gym…and I may or may not have “forgotten” to shower until like 36 hours later…MAY or MAY not! π
Running tights…tights…leggings…all I see is C-O-M-F-O-R-T!
And I know exactly what you mean about the poor lighting…my house seems like it’s well lit, but the kitchen is the worst! So many dark corners! The lightbox is SUPER easy to put together! I used this tutorial in the beginning and it only took about 30 minutes to come together: http://www.edibleperspective.com/home/2010/11/29/photography-101-the-light-box.html π
So that’s how you get your food to look so pretty! And that sky! I thought it was fake…
I definitely am not a fan of pants, and only wear them at home, because I have a roommate. And yeah, I mean, I prefer not to wear them at all, and walk around in big oversized Ts. And no bra. TMI?
That’s my girl! Pants-less and bra-less is the way to be! Hey, those hippies knew what they were talking about! π
And I know, I couldn’t believe the color blue…when I uploaded the pic I thought it looked fake too! Lol
I hate wearing real pants too! If I’m at home there’s a 99% chance that I’m wearing leggings or yoga pants. And I love Mondays because I have class, so I can get away with wearing leggings/yoga pants to it. But other other days I go to work so I have to dress like a real human being, and I hate it. π
Also the results of your cooking extravaganza look darn delicious! I haven’t made homemade granola in ages because I’ve had like a zillion boxes of the packaged kind in my cupboard. But I’m getting low, so I need to make some soon!
Something marvelous from my weekend was going out for tea with a friend. I had a flavour called Lime Fizz and it was so good!
Oh I need to make a lightbox – that’s been on my to-do list for ages! Want to make me one? π
Haha, sure! I’ve been putting off fixing this thing for ages! I can’t believe it only took a matter of minutes before I had it up and going! The first time I made one from scratch though, I swear it only took like 30 minutes! I followed Ashley’s instructions from this post: http://www.edibleperspective.com/home/2010/11/29/photography-101-the-light-box.html Soooo simple!
Excellent resource – thanks!
I am so thankful that I am not the only one who has a kitchen that looks like that on occasion!
I live in yoga pants. I am sure my BF thinks I am lazy, but really? I have to dress up for work every weekday.. on the weekends, I just wanna be comfy!
Haha, then what’s MY excuse!? I wear SCRUBS to work…I mean, they are basically glorified pajamas! Lol
I haven’t even smelled that candle and I want to eat it!! That rubber man looks so mean, it would be really hard NOT to punch him in the face!! Can’t wait for those recipes!!
Girl, I love how you and I eat similar concoctions of food (breakfasts especially) because I don’t feel odd when Jesse asks why I can’t “just eat a bowl of cereal”. Psh! Clearly we know the greatness of multiple toppings.
My weekend was quite boring but TODAY was marvellous because we found out that Jesse’s visa was approved and he’s moving to Australia!!
OMG, KRISTY!!! That’s INCREDIBLE!! Aww, I’m so happy for the two of you! And maybe, since you’ll be spending SO much more time together you can get him to come over to the dark side…er, I mean, enlighten him in the ways of cereal toppings! π
If my clothes aren’t covered in dog hair, then something isn’t right with the world LOL. That little critter is so hairy! Unrelated: can I just mention how much I LOVE your handwriting. Ok that’s not meant to be a creeper comment, but srsly, your handwriting is so pretty! OH! And let’s have a bloggy meetup so we can box together. HOORAY!
Aww, thank you sweetie! And don’t worry, I don’t think you’re a creeper! π And HOW could I forget that you are Miss Hardcore Boxer Lady?! Omg, it would be awesome if the two of us could gang up on Mr. Rubber Man…he’d never even see it coming! Muahahahahaha!
our light box broke… reminds us that we need to fix it π
love wearing yoga pants, live in them it feels like, haha
Yoga pants are so neat!
Said just about every guy in the universe…while the drool forms at the edges of their mouths! π Lol
One of the guys who works in the bulk department of Whole Foods totally called me out for how often I am in there the other day. The worst part, however, is that I am literally always wearing the same pair of workout pants, my fake Uggs, and my hair up in a ratty ponytail as I’m usually either pre-or-post-gym.
We even ran into each other at the grand opening of another grocery store.
And I was wearing the same outfit.
Omg, this seriously made me laugh out loud! Did you at LEAST give him one of your Nutty Butter cards? That’s a potential new customer missy! π
The only “pants” I wear are have the words yoga in front of them or just leggings all together. lol. I HATE regular pants or jeans for that matter. And whatever clothes I wear are usually covered in cat hair or dog hair or even my hair since I shed just as much. haha.
I need to make a light box. It’s kind of dark in my kitchen. Or have the husband make it. Engineer at work. π
Something marvelous from my weekend. I saw and toured Alcatraz for the first time ever. And I ran 10 miles. the most I have done this year.
Haha! Love it! Yeah, I can’t really complain about the cat hair TOO much since I shed just about as bad as Tiger! π
Seriously, my first lightbox only took me like 30 minutes to make…it really comes together fast! I used Ashley’s instructions from this post: http://www.edibleperspective.com/home/2010/11/29/photography-101-the-light-box.html
That’s cool that you got to visit Alcatraz! I went to SF a couple of years ago and saw it from the Fisherman’s wharf, but wasn’t able to get over there for a tour! And CONGRATULATIONS on the 10 miler! Back when I was a big runner, 10 was the furthest I ever did…ONCE! haha!
I am late but that kitchen!!! I hate to clean up so that is why I hate to cook! π Thank goodness for food bloggers with great recipes!!!! π
Need a light box too! I am not a great pic taker..
Pants are me. I have bed feet so can’t wear cute shows which means pants & casual!!!
PS: I can’t find a tweet button on your site. Am I missing something?
Oh my gosh, Jody, thank you SO much for calling that to my attention! I just realized that both my Facebook AND Twitter buttons are missing! π― Ahhh, ON IT!!
Ugh, I hate the cleaning part…I swear one of these days I’ll have my own personal kitchen cleaner! I think they’re called…kids? π
Holy cow!! That candle sounds AMAZING! That would definitely be a “must buy” for me ;).
Okay, had to share this with you, Heather. At school today during snack time one of the kids had cheetos (spicy cheetos, mind you) and another brought cupcakes. The kid put some spicy cheetos right in the frosting and ate that cupcake like that!! He loved it.
Omg, LOVE…IT!!! Hahaha! I only wish I had started my weird foodie ways sooner…my younger self was surely missing out on chocolate covered Cheetos! Lol
I hate wearing pants! They are the bane of my existence. As soon as I can (regardless of whether or not I SHOULD), I WILL be wearing booty shorts everywhere. Bring on the spring! Like, this weekend please. I mean, seriously, 65/70 degrees this weekend?? Might be time to hit the park. Love that you got your much-needed “me” time π
I know, right?! I JUST heard the weather report yesterday! Makes me a bit bitter since I know I’m gonna be laid up on the couch all weekend after my knee surgery…grrr! Here’s hoping that I won’t miss ALL the nice weather in the next couple of weeks.
ok. i have no excuse not to have decent photos.need to quit being so dang lazy and make a light box already. π
hope surgery goes okay.
I know, it’s SO easy! I just can’t believe it took me THIS long to make the simple fixes to get mine working again…seriously took me like 10 minutes! When I originally built the box, I this tutorial post of Ashley’s: http://www.edibleperspective.com/home/2010/11/29/photography-101-the-light-box.html
And thanks girlie! The surgery went well…but I swear I’m going to throw these crutches across the friggin ROOM!! Gahhhh!
