Marvelous Minutes

Happy Monday, kiddos!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Although mine was pretty low-key, I have to say that nearly every MINUTE was jam-packed with MARVELOUSNESS!

2040 minutes…

Alarm

Of sweet delicious slumber acquired in four days πŸ˜€

5 minutes…

Spinach & Chicken Roll with Cheese

Spent trying to decide what to order for lunch at Joey’s House of Pizza UNTIL I spotted this roll of carby, cheesy, spinach, chicken, and olive-y goodness!

9356256 minutes…

Gladiator Pizza

Of the man-friend’s life shaved off after finishing a slice of “Gladiator” Pie πŸ˜‰

15 minutes…

Airplane Wing Table

Spent oogling over this airplane wing table I spotted at a salvage market…until I then spotted the $500 pricetag 😯

12 minutes…

Selfie

Of Home Depot aisle-cruising with the man-friend before I got bored and started taking more narcissisticΒ selfies.

30 minutes…

Treadmill Walk

Of PAIN-FREEΒ treadmill walking at the gym Saturday afternoon.

60 minutes…

Massage

Of pure, drool-on-myself bliss Saturday night.

20 minutes…

TemperatureSpent hovering over the thermostat at different times yesterday trying to decide wether or not to turn the heat on.

For the record, my stubborn self decided to pull the electric blanket out instead! πŸ˜‰

15 minutes…

Pancake Fail

Taken to prepare my latest and greatest pancake creation FAIL!

3 minutes…

Pancake Fail with Peanut ButterBefore this entire plate was licked clean!

*peanut butter and chocolate sauce fixes everything!

MIMMAs always, a big shout out to the lovely lady who makes Mondays a bit more bearable…and as always, the alliteration award goes to the author! πŸ˜†

How did you spend YOUR minutes this weekend?

Anyone else out there refusing to turn on the heat?
Hey, just another alternative to exercise, right Carly? πŸ˜‰

  1. Very marvelous spent time indeed girl! I am happy you had a great weekend and the food looks delicious like always – actually, those fail pancakes look like mine when I consider them as successful, bahahaha πŸ™‚
I spent 2/3 of my Sunday with the man in the kitchen CLEARING UP! I can not admit for how long this was needed but now my kitchen AND ME feel superclean, love it!

  2. I have not yet turned the heat on either…I’m wondering who will crack first, me or the roomie! lol

  3. Lucky me, my apartment complex is completely sustainable, zero net energy, so all of our utilities are included in rent… Which means we’re crazy with the heat. If one of us so much as senses a goosebump, we crank it. Love.

Home Depot is probably the most boring place on Earth, so I don’t blame you for choosing to look at your hot self rather than roaming aisles of nails and pieces of plywood.

  4. Selfies > Home Depot. One of the most boring stores out there. Annnnnd most of my weekend minutes were spent recovering from family Thanksgiving on Saturday. So.much.cake….

  5. calee says:

You’re one of a few people who will appreciate this and not freak out on me for saying this:

Pretty sure I just came when I saw that slice of pizza.

  6. PB definitely fixes everything..and I bet those pancakes weren’t a fail. They probably tasted quite delicious! πŸ™‚

Also, I don’t eat meat, but that pizza looks freakin’ amazing!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

They WERE pretty tasty…only they would better be described as a pan-scramble instead of a cake! I couldn’t for the life of me get them to stay together! Lol

And seriously, that pizza would have put me in a coma! The entire bottom layer was sausage and pepperoni! 😯

  7. No heat for me yet either. Who needs it hen you have a nice, warm massage table? πŸ˜‰
(Just kidding – I’m a wuss and will crank it up as soon as it gets too cold here.)

Your zucchini pancakes were awesome. I’d even eat your fails. Long live the narcissistic pancake queen!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Omg, this was the first table I’d ever been on that was heated! I didn’t want to leave afterward! Hmm, wonder how much they’d charge if I just wanted to sleep on the bed? πŸ˜‰

I’m so glad you liked the zucchini cakes! And really, this new combo was pretty damn tasty…just wish the little buggers had held together! Back to the drawing board!

  8. haha 12 minutes is way longer than I last in home depot!

  9. Chocolate and peanut butter sauce DO fix everything! All kitchen fails can be fixed this way! I just told Tony to put on more clothing because he is cold. I’m the one that will walk around in a tank top and shorts refusing to turn the air on and the one that will wear 5 sweatshirts before I turn the heat on. I see the bills and refuse to make these changes so soon! Do jumping jacks!

  10. YAy for pain-free walking! The heat was turned on months ago for me…and by months ago I am definitely referring to the summer because I am so damn cold all the time! Not to self: re-evaluate living in Canada.

I spent almost all my minutes either eating or cooking. But I did manage to squeeze in a bit of social time. And yes PB and chocolate are the cure-all!

  11. Looks like you had a great weekend! I spent my minutes at the gym and watching copious amounts of Breaking Bad! I am well and truly addicted..I’ve only got season 5 left to go! Exciting!!

  12. 475895040957 minutes throwing a tantrum trying to avoid going back to work after an amazing week and a half off!
And 394793837 complaining about how cold it is (72) compared to Mexico (92) and demanding someone bring me a hot drink (ummm…I’m all alone, so request was unheard)

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Hahaha! Omg, I’d give anything for 72 right now! I don’t know what the hell happened, but last week, the rains came in and we haven’t seen a day over 65 since! So I’m right there with ya on the tantrumming!

  13. Khushboo says:

Pancake Sundays may be a thing of the past around here buuuut clearly you are still THE pancake queen- OMG! PB & Chocolate is always a good idea, even more so when carbs are thrown in ;)! As for my weekend in minutes: 2,880 minutes FLOWN BY!

  14. YES to still refusing to turn on the heat! I’m lucky ’cause I live a little higher up in a condo so the building kind of keeps my place a little warmer, but I’ve still had to pack on a few extra layers in the last couple of weeks. Can you believe that a lot of our trees are already lacking leaves?! I’m pretty sure we’ve enjoyed our two weeks of autumn and are getting an early start on winter. Gah. Canada… I love you, but you’re a cold b*tch 😑

And I’m sorry, but I have to disagree with your statement about PB and chocolate fixing everything… AB and chocolate, on the other hand πŸ˜‰

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Haha! Right! Don’t be going and offing yourself trying to fix things with peanut butter! πŸ˜‰

And I totally feel ya girlie! I think we got one good week of “fall” and now it’s 60 degrees, rainy, and gloomy! I was just thinking yesterday that it’s probably going to be a lonnnnnnnnnnnnng winter…the depression is already setting in! Gah!

  15. great post love bug! so happy you got yourself a massage πŸ˜€ that makes me so happy πŸ˜€ let’s make a chat date soon xo

  16. Peanut butter and chocolate sauces really DO fix everything. I approve of that message.

  17. Looks like a marvelous weekend indeed! I love topping my failed pancakes or baked good with almond butter or peanut butter and chocolate. too! Nut butter and chocolate make anything taste better!

As far as the heat goes, we haven’t turned ours on yet, since it hasn’t gotten that cold. It’s chilly at night, but not cold enough (though, I’m secretly wishing it gets really cold soon!).

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Well, I will GLADLY send all our cold your way in exchange for a few 70 degree days…WITH some sunshine! Ugh, I’m SO not ready for winter! I’m already bah-humbugging it! Lol

  18. I MUCH prefer Lowe’s to Home Depot. I could spend HOURS in there. Good thing b/c I have a feeling there will be many trips there while building the house! I’m totally jealous of your sleep time and your massage time. I need both of those!

  19. Last night I slept with winter ski socks, sweat pants, long sleeve t, two (yes 2) big down comforters and my own little heater (dog). It’s pathetic how much I hate wasting electricity! Surviving 1 min in Home Depot is a huge accomplishment… I wonder if the boy feels the same when I drag him to all the grocery stores. But really, how can you not love grocery shopping:)

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Haha! Right? I mean it’s food…anyone can relate because EVERYONE eats food! πŸ˜€

Ok, now I don’t feel so bad for wearing my sweats and hoodie under my big fluffy robe UNDER my electric blanket as I slept yesterday! I hate the cold SO much, but I’m just too damn stubborn! Lol

  20. Haha, that is gold- taking selfies at a hardware store. Legend.

I was drooling over those pizzas on instagram and I’m drooling again now- I’d give up 9356256 for a slice of that perfection.

My maths is as good as a chicken to even begin working basics out…but 14 hours x 60 minutes = 840 minutes I slow cooked beef barbacoa. So good!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Mmmmm, slow-cooked meat is the best! And seriously, you are so not alone…I had to whip out the calculator this weekend to figure out a tip! Ha!

  21. Julie says:

I’ve definitely spent time mulling over my thermometer to figure out it works!

  22. I loved the lay out of this blog post! Haven’t seen one in this layout before.. cool idea!

  23. Marvelous is getting a good night’s rest (I took a cat nap today), massages (I’m jealous in a non-bitter way), and working out pain free (again jealous in a non-bitter way. My new gym finally opened this week and I have working lunches every single day. Grumble, grumble).
That table is pretty bad ass. One of a kind really. I think you should buy it regardless of that price tag.

  24. Emily says:

That pizza and your roll…be still my heart…

I’m glad you had such a lovely weekend and that you were able to get some much-needed rest. You deserved it! xoxo

  25. Ahh that 60 minutes spent getting a massage sounds like the best 60 minutes of your weekend. Or at least, it would be the best 60 minutes of mine! I looove getting massages. Unfortunately the only professional ones I’ve had recently (read: ever) are my sports massages for my legs. Sometimes I wish I could give my upper body a little attention too, since my back and arms get SORE after I lift weights!

And hurray for catching up on sleep! Such a good feeling, eh?

I spent my minutes this weekend cooking/baking, catching up on Grey’s Anatomy, having lunch with a blog reader, going to the farmers’ market, and working out.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Oh honey! Massages are soooo much better when they don’t hurt! You seriously need the experience of a spa relaxation massage…there’s nothing like it…well, next to popping a couple of Vicodin! Lol

And yesssss! I feel like an entirely different person after catching up on sleep this weekend…it still amazes me what the power of a good night’s rest can do for the body, mind, and soul! πŸ™‚

Sounds like you had a pretty fantastic weekend! And I hope you went back to that amazing farmers’ market you visited on Thanksgiving! I’m STILL jealous of that!

  26. i allllllllways see the number 12:34 on the clock..and it alllllways reminds me of this: http://youtu.be/OwU32Fa_Mko yep, it’s like that πŸ˜›

  27. Bahaha love the breakdown. I laughed out loud at your thermostat photo. Story of our life lately!! We’re at such an in between stage, weather wise!!

  28. I went to Sydney this weekend with Nick and we ate and drank and ate and drank oh and went to the zoo!!

You need to teach me selfies I always feel awkward and silly taking them and then they always turn out looking odd or just plain silly!

Sounds like a marvelous weekend drooling at that pie your man friend consumed and still drooling over your pancake fail, it looks amazing!!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Please don’t tell me you went to the zoo drunk! Wait, no…tell me you DID! πŸ˜†

And oh girl, you don’t even want to KNOW how many shots it takes sometimes to get ONE selfie! Lol Seriously though, it’s all about finding your best angle…try left, right, and looking up at the camera…never down, that makes you look like you have three chins! πŸ˜‰

  29. That airplane wing table would have been incredibly cool! I hate going to a flea market or thrift shop and then things STILL being out of my price range πŸ™

I unfortunately am not in charge of the heat at home or in my dorm room. Whenever I change it, it gets changed back right away. My feet are cold.

  30. Sarah Pie says:

I love the by time breakdown, it makes you seem even more accomplished πŸ˜‰
I think those pancakes look amazing (though that might just be the chocolate talking) and an massage sounds like absolute nirvana!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Right?! I thought so too…especially on the whole sleep thing! πŸ˜‰ And actually, the pancakes tasted delicious…they just looked like trash! Gotta figure out a way to keep them together because it’s definitely a flavor combo I want to share! πŸ˜€
