A Noodle-ly Foodie [Pen Pal]

Hey guys!

I know I don’t normally post on Wednesdays, but today is a special day…

It’s Foodie Pen Pal Reveal Day!!

A HUGE thank you goes out to Lindsay from The Lean Green Bean for putting so much work into this program! I’ve been participating since March and have had SO much fun!

This month, I got matched up with Brooke from Brooke Not on a Diet…if you’ve never checked out her blog, definitely do! Having lost over 140 pounds the RIGHT way, she is so much of an inspiration…and such a beauty! 🙂

I was super excited to see the goodies Brooke sent me this month…especially the Mrs. Renfro’s salsa (my absolute favorite one…how did she know?) since I can NEVER find it around here!

It made the PERFECT addition (along with some Greek yogurt) to my
Southwestern Cheessy Egg Cups for breakfast the other day!

And as you saw on yesterday’s WIAW post, the cobwebs NOODLES were definitely put to good use. I’ve tried them before, but forgot how fun they are…I love the texture!

And topped with bat wings, eyeballs, and zombie skin, it makes for one spookalicious lunch! 😉

I debated on saving the hummus packet for whenever I’m traveling, but I couldn’t resist.  I’m a total sucker for anything with a sun-dried tomato flavor!

Spinach, TJ’s harvest grain mix, grilled turkey breast, tomatoes, tomato basil almonds and a good drizzle of hummus…

DEEEEEELICIOUS!

I also adore the teas she picked out! I’ve always liked the Tazo Passionfruit flavor, but the Stash Pomegranate Raspberry was a new one for me and it was SO good…definitely more of a summertime tea as it tasted better iced, but I’ll have to keep that in mind for next year!

Along with my foodie goodies, she also slipped in a bar of all natural tea tree soap from her local farmer’s market.

It smells like Heaven and has actually been helping with some recent breakouts I’ve been getting.

Thank you so much Brooke for my package!

As for MY pen pal match, I was hooked up with blog reader, Pamela. After she told me how much of a chocolate lover she was, I did my best to pack up a box FULL of
chocolately goodness!

Bam!

Here’s what she had to say about her package:

“This month I received a package from Heather. I got an assortment of bars and and chocolate. My favorite was the justins hazelnutspread. I like it better than my usual go-to nutella. It is a lot healthier and I enjoyed it on top of a banana for a snack. I travel a lot for work and the bars were a good pick-me-up after a flight. I also tried my first spinning class this week and I had one to recover after class. Thanks Heather for introducing me to a ton of products.”

I’m so glad she liked them!

I love that you even found chocolate tea!

  2. Khushboo says:

I LOVE the idea of a foodie swap! If only location wasn’t an issue, I would so be down for taking part (unless any fellow bloggers in India are participating)! Your loot looks delicious…hello bar heaven :)! Have you tried that the Nutz Over Chocolate flavor Luna Bar? I usually buy the Cookies ‘n’ Cream or “White Choc & Macadamia Nut” variety but decided to branch out. I have high hopes because let’s be honest, chocolate & nuts is always a good idea (that’s what she said ;)!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

That IS what she said, isn’t it? Hahaha! I used to be OBSESSED with Luna bars so I’m pretty sure I’ve tried every flavor out there…I’m not a huge fan of macadamia nuts, but love the C&C and the nutz over chocolate. Have you had the peppermint stick? It’s amazing…tastes JUST like a thin mint!

  3. Sarah says:

Yum, yum, yum! Everything you got from your foodie looked fabulous for Fall! I love Tazo Passion tea. Hope you enjoyed too!

  4. Really thinking I need to try the foodie swap! It’s such a good idea – plus if I can tell people how much I love chocolate, that’s just a massive win for me :-p

I’ve yet to find a pre-made hummus I don’t like! Sabre’s always been my favourite though, I usually go for Supremely Spicy or Sundried Tomato. I haven’t found the chipotle version around here yet, which is too bad because I love anything chipotle!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Sabra makes a sun-dried tomato?! Why have I not discovered this yet?? Gah, I would probably demolish the entire tub in a day! Lol

You would LOVE Foodie Pen Pals! It’s so much fun to be introduced to new delicious snacks/treats!

  5. Awesome package of goodies! That hummus does sound really delicious, but I’ve always been a plain hummus lover. It’s so so good the way it is!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Really? Aww man, the first time I tried hummus, I had it plain and HATED it…I swore I hated any and all hummus for years after that! Haha!

  6. Eric Sack says:

Is that the “Scent of the first lady” scent soap?? ;P

  7. Kate says:

Dang, I wish you were my Foodie Pen Pal! I love Pure bars. Can’t seem to find them around here. Definitely would love to try the trail mix flavor. And those TJ’s wafer cookies. Oh. Em. Gee. I see those every time I go into TJ’s and I lust after them. Just can’t put them in my cart. I might eat the whole bag in one sitting. Darn.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

You know…I used to really like them, but I’m not the hugest fan anymore (of course that was AFTER I bought like 3 boxes). If you’re interested, we could do a little swap of our own? Just shoot me an email and let me know! 😀

  8. Uniflame says:

I love how you put pictures on your blog of what you made with your package! So inspirational 🙂 And that package full of chocolate can come live in my house any day 😉 Lucky her 🙂

  9. Dudeee LOVE all the chocolate love you sent to your foodie pen pal. It’s like chocolate overload – heaven! So awesome, she must have been thrilled.

I recently bought the miracle noodles too but I haven’t made them yet. I’m scared. Kinda. Not really. But I’ll probably make them soon anyway. As usual, your photos are amazing <3

    Happy Halloween dear!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Don’t be skeered! I’ll be honest, they smell a little like plastic when you first open the bag, but once you heat them up, they have no flavor whatsoever! I just like the texture of them…like rice or “glass” noodles without all the carbs! 😀

  10. I got Tazo tea as well! I love that you show food you’ve made with your FPP goodies, that is so much more interesting to me! I pinned your egg and cheese cup, the husband is going to love them.

  11. Ugh. I’ve been getting breakouts lately too and I can’t figure out why. It’s really been bugging me though because now that I’m nearing 30 you think I’d be without acne.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Omg, I hear ya girl! Have you been keeping up with your ACV shots? I’ve been slacking here lately and I honestly think that’s to blame. Who knew it worked so well? 😉

  12. You make the BEST packages girl.

As soon as I saw the Mrs. Renfro’s I thought, “But it’s not the pomegranate!!!!” I can’t wait until I have the opportunity to send you another package. 🙂 [I need to find some more of those Erin Baker’s Breakfast Cookies. The one you sent me was AMAZING.]

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Check TJ Maxx or Marshalls! I’ve found them at Kroger before too, but they tend to be MUCH cheaper at the other stores!

I can’t WAIT until I get another of your fun packages! I still remember how cute and color-coordinated my last one was! You are too much girl!

…and obviously have a thing for exclamation points tonight!!!!!! 😉

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Yes ma’am! And it is soooooooo good! If you ever spot it in the store, you HAVE to get it! I love it with a little almond milk and it makes the best tea-infused oats! 😀

  13. Mrs. Renfros is one of my fav salsa brands, and Stash tea is one of my fav salsa brands. The other goodies? Well, I haven’t tried those before, but clearly I should!

  14. Brittany says:

I realllllyyy need to get on this foodie pen pal stuff!! This loot looks amazing!

  15. jodie says:

    I love Sabra’s pine nut!

  16. Stephanie says:

Any reason to have a cookie for breakfast is good by me! Looks like both packages were a ton of fun!

  17. Jessie says:

What an amazing package. Love the Mrs. Refreno brand. The pineapple salsa is to die for!!! I hate that I use it so quick 🙁

    • kissmybroccoli says:

You and me BOTH! I killed the last jar I had in like THREE DAYS! Obviously I’m saving hoarding this one for as long as possible! 😉

  18. What an awesome chocolate packed box you sent! I’ve been curious to try those miracle noodles! Might just have to give in and try them!

  19. Simone says:

I signed up! i’m super excited about it, thanks for the tip!
