Wolves, Waffles, and a Winner!

Hey guys and happy Friday!

I hope you all had a fantastic week!

Last night, I met up with my best friend, Sherri, my mom, and my sister, Tori for the Breaking Dawn Part 2 premier…

#noshame

I may not be a Twilight groupie…of course, if I had to choose, I’d go with Team Jacob just because Taylor Lautner has such incredible abs….I mean seriously, I’d take a sledge-hammer to my front loader if it meant I could use his stomach to wash my wardrobe.

Hmm, could I go to jail for saying that?

Nope! Just checked…he’s twenty! πŸ˜‰

Anywho! Like I was saying…I read the book series just before the first film was made, and it just became our “thing” to go and see each movie when it came out…however horrible the acting was.

BUT,Β I will say, out of all five movies, this one was by farΒ the BEST!

Great special effects, a couple of twists and turns, and ok, there was still a good amount of bad acting, but hey, you get a sex scene within the first 10 minutes! πŸ˜€

After the show, we followed up with a tradition we started last year

Waffle House!

As soon as we sat down, I knew exactly what I wanted…the latest menu addition…

The pumpkin waffle!

Oh, and a side of bacon! πŸ˜‰

Instead of it being made with pumpkin puree like I was expecting, it was a traditional batter with bits of pumpkin “nougat” (waitress’ words, not mine) spread throughout. I was a little skeptical…but then I had my first bite…

It’s official…I want to live in a bucket of pumpkin “nougat”

And then came this genius idea…

Pumpkin Bacon Wafflewich!

Dipped it in a little syrup and the sweet salty combo nearly had me on my knees!

But that’s not even the best part. That came today with the leftovers…

A pumpkin bacon wafflewich with CHOCOLATE SYRUP*

1 Tbsp cocoa + 2 Tbsp maple syrup = pure and utter deliciousness!

Seriously, Waffle House, get on this!

To #foodcoma!

And speaking of pumpkin…

I was BLOWN AWAY by the number of entries in my Arctic Zero giveaway! But not at all surprised by how many of you were wanting to get your hands on the pumpkin spice flavor! Well guess what…

We have a winner!

Congratulations Katarina! I’m emailing you now!

Thank you all SO much for entering! And don’t forget, if you can’t find your coveted flavor of Arctic Zero in stores, you can always check out their Amazon page! πŸ™‚

What’s your favorite sweet/salty combo?

Any big plans for the weekend?
I’ve got a sushi date tonight with some girls from work and tomorrow, I’m hanging with Allie in Nashvegas!

I miss Waffle House. Okay, I never really ate when I went. I just love the idea of Waffle House, and I love waffle-wiches!

Aww, you gotta give the big WH a try at least ONCE in your life! If anything, just order hashbrowns and listen to them as they shout it to the cook! πŸ˜‰

  2. Bacon and chocolate? And here I was thinking that you couldn’t come up with any new combos that would surprise me. I apologize for underestimating you πŸ˜› When it comes to favorite sweet and salty combo, I’d have to say mine is probably hummus and jam, or hummus and honey. And between Edward and Jacob, I’m definitely with you on Jacob… I prefer dark, mysterious, and bad-boyish over… clingy and emotional. Although, to be perfectly honest, I wouldn’t say no to either of them πŸ˜‰

    • kissmybroccoli says:

What?! You’ve never had bacon and chocolate together? Omg girl, it’s insanely good! Definitely up there with the hummus and jam…you just reminded me that it has been TOO long since I’ve done that combo!

And I’m totally with you on the dark and mysterious…Edward could stand to do a few bench presses if you ask me! πŸ˜‰

  3. im amazed you took leftovers home from waffle house! ha. but, i do love what you made with them. and can i just say that i’m super bummed not to have won this giveaway – guess i’ll just have to buy it on my own. πŸ˜‰

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Awww, so sorry love! I so wish everyone could have won…just drown your sorrows in chocolate covered bacon! πŸ˜‰

  4. I love that idea for a chocolate syrup!

My favourite sweet/salty combo is salted chocolate. I had this salted chocolate mousse cake earlier in the summer and I swear it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! I love mixing sweet things with bacon too though – I had a sticky toffee cake with bacon at a food festival once and it was amazing!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

I’ve tried salted chocolate before, but never really was a fan…I like salty tasting things like bacon, but straight up salt is a bit much for my tastes. But hello! Sticky toffee with bacon?! Oh my gosh, I would die!!

we are so anxious to go and see the new movie! as we loved the books and have enjoyed all the movies!!! glad you like it πŸ™‚

  6. A wafflewich. What a fabulous idea. Think of the possibilities; they’re endless. Perhaps, we shall see wafflewich Saturdays from you.
    Have a great weekend!!

  7. Heather won’t take me to WaHo!!! I’m standing in her kitchen begging her.

This is what I want when you come next time. I’ll even cook the bacon. That’s true love, friend.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

I am totally dubbing you my official bacon maker! Damn! I should have had you make me your maple bacon cookies while I was there!

  8. #Foodporn to #Foodcoma haha, fabulous! I don’t think I’ve everrr been to Waffle House but I always see it on highway exit signs- I’ll have to keep it in mind next road trip [and pack a jar of chocolate sauce to slather on my meal]… I hope they don’t think I’m too cray cray πŸ˜‰
