M-A-R-V-E-L-O-U-S!

Selfie Thumbholes

Me time…

Much more needed than realized and made complete with plenty of sleep and siestas and savasanas! πŸ˜€

Advancing in Yoga…

After over a WEEK away from my band of koolaid-drinking hippies, I seriously had to hug the instructor on Saturday when she helped me break finally down some mental walls and get into CROW! πŸ˜€

Slippers

Relaxing…

And reading and lounging around the house in my fluffy robe…and ok, maybe there were four (?!) loads of laundry also involved and maybe that was all I HAD to wear, but still!

Veggin’ out…

I thought for sure I would’ve given up on the cleanse by now, but I still haven’t really had any cravings for anything in particular and after a short trip to the grocery store this weekend, I may or may not have gotten a little overly excited when I spotted some parsnips and turnips!

Eating…

Some DAMN delicious (and perhaps a little strange) dinners!

Green Beans, Carrots, Purple Sweet Potato

Green beans, carrots, and a purple sweet potato topped with avocado, banana, and cinnamon

Laura's Raw Red Pepper Soup

Laura’s Creamy Red Pepper Soup

Peas & Kabocha with Avocado

Kabocha, peas, and avocado MIXED WITH banana

#dontknockittillyoutryit πŸ˜‰

Game of Thrones

Lords and ladies…

And knights and dragons and scary blue people and blood and guts and omg, why can I not stop watching this?!

Ohio phone dates…

That last for hours and hours and make me smile from ear to ear! And end with me successfully convincing Meghan to sign up with Twitter! <- Click and follow, people!

Unfortunate fails…

Lentil Fail

That while tasting delicious, look like cat food mixed with dryer lint!

Surprising myself…

By finally FINALLY finding my kitchen mojo!!

Spaghetti Squash with Avocado Sauce & Peas

Peas and…

Carrot Cake Chia Pudding

Carrots…

Carrot Cake Quinoa

MORE carrots…

Lentil Burgers

And cat food/dryer lint turned BURGERS! πŸ˜‰

Recipes coming soooooooon!

Pick and letter (or two) and tell me somethingΒ MARVELOUS from your weekend!

  1. My husband and I are big fans of Game of Thrones! Such an awesome show!

  2. Eric and I are going to watch the season 4 premiere tonight..ohmygod so excited! And something exciting from my weekend: I’ve joined the ginger tribe πŸ˜‰ (i mean, obviously dyed/fake ginger, but the ginger tribe nonetheless :-p )

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Ugh!! I can’t believe in all my #broccolibombing earlier tonight that I never once said anything about your new do! I love it! And I think you should most definitely stay a ginger…with the nose ring, you are a total badass! πŸ˜‰

  3. Lisa says:

I made Laura’s red pepper soup too! Twinsies.
And I am happy I’m not the only one carrot obsessed. Like I think I went through a giant family bag in about 3 days. It’s becoming a problem how much I love them.
Wahoo to more me time! I need to get better at that, and really work on my sleep! Sleep has not been my friend these days, but what else is new.
I need to start watching Game of Thrones. I wanted to get through the books first, but I’m beginning to become to tempted to just watch it and finish the books later.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Oh man, NOW I don’t feel so bad…even though I just noticed the other day that my palms are starting to turn orange! 😯

I never in a million years thought I’d read the books (mainly because they are FRICKIN HUUUUUUUUGE!), but I’ve got a friend who almost has me convinced! Haha!

  4. Woo hoo!!! I thought I might give up on Friday, but I powered through and I’m feeling awesome today.

So glad you liked the soup. Isn’t the creativity these “rules” bring awesome?! Except that I made cat food crumbly pancakes. Doh.

  5. love a good dryer lint burger πŸ˜‰

  6. S! S is for social because I’ve been taken over by the queen of all things social and I actually put on real pants and ventured out of my home. These evil spirits are scaring me. I’m ready to be a homebody again.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

But you sound like your making such a name for yourself out there! Who knows, you could be nabbed up one night by an agent just looking for someone who knows how to shake her booty like a pro on top of a bar! Coyote Ugly 2 extra? Just sayin’! πŸ˜‰

  7. Avocado mixed wtih banana, eh? It certainly sounds interesting..but it totally has the sweet/savory thing going on (which I LOVE), so I am going to have to try it!

  8. Looking forward to those recipes!!!

  9. I like the catfood pic! I bet it was delicious.
Me time is best. I spent my Saturday night in the oldest sweatpants I own and I felt fancy.
I envy your kabocha!! I even forgot how it tastes!

  10. Time out, Meghan is from Ohio?! That’s where I’m from, and I’m going back this weekend! haha πŸ™‚ I’m glad you had a good weekend and YAY for some much needed relaxation πŸ™‚

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Yes ma’am! She lives in Cleveland! One of these days I’m gonna get back up that way to see her…she makes for a fabulous tour guide/host! πŸ˜€

  11. Sarah Pie says:

Love love love Game of Thrones, and all the craziness that goes with it! I’m also super jealous of your cozy robe, laundry or not I’d take a day in that any day!

  12. Yay Game of Thrones! I watched the season 4 premiere last night and it was awesome! How far along are you??

Some marvelous things from my weekend were: M – meeting my friend for lunch, S – sundaes and wine on Friday night, and E – enjoying the weather with a nice walk downtown with JZ!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

As of today, I am four episodes into season 2…and I’m pretty sure once I’m all “caught up” I’ll have to pester my friend for her HBO go password because I will most likely DIE if I have to wait a year for the DVD’s! haha!

Sounds like you have one PERFECT weekend! Can’t get any better than good friends, good food, and walks with the man! <- you should know I'm saying that in my most annoying "lovey dovey" voice. πŸ˜‰

  13. Yay for crow! I still struggle so much with it and am happy when I can hold it for a second or two. Can’t wait for those recipes!

  14. Marvelous is certain phone dates with friends in Tennessee. Know anybody around there? πŸ˜‰
I’m so glad you got some You time, along with some siestas. Those are my favorite, especially when they involve big fluffy robes and Crow pose. Yep, I’m a funny sleeper, although I will say the robe and the cat food burgers lend to a certain crazy cat lady image. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Go kitchen mojo; the pictures are looking super fly too.

  15. Avocado, banana & sweet potato is a clever mix. I would never have thought of that!

  16. You always have the most amazing looking food, I swear.
    Can’t wait for the recipes!

Always nice to sit back and relax. πŸ˜€

  17. That carrot concoction looks yummy πŸ™‚ Glad you’re finding your mojo again! I haven’t been able to do crow in a while. I really need to get back to the mat.

My marvelous weekend moment was being able to work on some garden stuff. Outdoors, with my dog, cats and the husband resting on the couch. Happiness.

  18. E is for exciting because that’s what I hope our phone date on Friday will be!
And V is for the small victory my ability to walk around the lake close to my appartment for the first time in forever – damn hip – was. Which would obviously fall into the M for marvelous category, too.

  19. Elizabeth says:

The red pepper soup looks DElightful!

  20. Kitchen mojo back in an UNDERSTATEMENT.

I honestly don’t even know where to begin. Oh wait, I do. You know I love my #stangebutgood variations. I do. But….avocado AND banana? I will try this out the moment they become a reasonable price.

I only just realised how amazing carrots are to snack on at work (at piss off your co workers). I think I like them even more now. R. Revenge.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Yes! Dooooooo IT! I’ve been mixing the two forever now but only just rediscovered my love in the last couple of weeks…on toast, rices cakes, sweet potatoes…wait, you don’t like those, nevermind! But seriously, the sweet/buttery taste is amazing!

I can’t help but laugh to myself as I picture you walking around biting into a carrot next to people’s ears at work! Lol
