Thinking Out Loud: Bum Bacon Booze!

Hey guys! I hope you are all having a great week. No time for intros today…it’s time to Think Out Loud!

Sunrise

I guess with Daylight Savings Time about to come to an end, I’ll have to trade out all my sunsets for sunrises. But after seeing this one on my drive home Monday morning, I can’t say I’ve got a problem with that!

Metal Art

While I’d love to say I’ve been super productive in the last four days that I’ve had off, I think my subconscious was trying to prep me for the next five days (and another 50-something hours) I’ll be working starting tonight.

Of course, I do have ONE thing to be proud of: I hung some art in the living room! Also part of my retail therapy shopping experience last week, it was one of those pieces you don’t really know why, but you just have to have…ya know, kinda like that eighth jar of nut butter! 😉  And before you go discounting my moment of pride-uctivity, I will inform you that it took me a good three MONTHS to hang these pictures above the couch!

Oh but hell, I can’t forget that marathon I ran…

Captain America

Of the Marvel variety! I like a cheesy rom-com as much as the next girl, but I can’t help my wannabe comic book geek self when it comes to superhero movies. And with all that action, it’s basically like a workout…though instead of wiping sweat from my brow, it’s drool off my chin! Lol

Bacon Cinnamon Roll

And speaking of drool…I know I’ve already told you guys that Tori deserves the Sister of the Year Award under the category of Petrified Rodent Handling, but now I’m gonna have to find a way to make her a freaking trophy…because this bacon-wrapped cinnamon roll was ALL HER! Seriously…it’s like she’s known me for 22 years or something! 😉

Root Beer Oreos

As the still self-proclaimed Oreo taste-tester, when at the store with a friend the other day and they suggested we try this new flavor, I couldn’t say no. While I’ve never been a huge root beer fan, we all know I have my moments, so…?

After multiple tests, I’ve concluded that they are more FUN than they are actually good. It’s kinda crazy how close to these flavors, Nabisco can get, but until they come out with a mocha latte flavor, I think I’ll save my drinks for drinking.

Coffee Patron

Especially when they taste like THIS!

Do me a favor. Head to the liquor store (if you are of age, of course!), buy this unbelievably delicious coffee-flavored tequila, and mix yourself up a TiramiShooter! You will NOT regret it. And yes, this is just another reason for me to break out the bottle of Rumchata…like I need a reason!

Just like I don’t need a reason to share with you another favorite from the new Sir Sly album…seriously guys, I think I now know at least half these songs forward and backward! Love them!

Thinking-Out-Loud

Be sure to hop on over to Spoons and check out all the random musings for the week! If I get a chance to breathe within the next few days, I’ll “see” you next week! Wish me luck!

Do you have a favorite comic book character?

What’s the best thing you’ve eaten/drank this week?

  1. Root beer?! That’s taking it too far. I want the rumored Red Velvet. NOW.

That Patron… I have the BEST drink recipe ever using that. My mom has it actually… I’m going to have her share it. Totally crave-worthy.

Beautiful sunset! I see you talking about the pumpkin Oreos, but I can’t find them. 🙁 Have to keep searching. Have a great day, Heather!

  3. LOVE that piece! I would need to have it too! lol

  4. I’ve never been much into the comic book movies, but they’re a good crowd pleaser if you’ve got a diverse group of people or something! 🙂 And ehhhh I don’t know how I’d feel about those Oreos! Haha. Totally feel you on the sunrise thing, too — gorgeous! =)

  5. Can I pick Sailor Moon as my favourite comic book character? Was Sailor Moon ever actually a comic book? Probably not…
And I am drooling over that cinnamon roll!

  6. Oh holy guacamole I want, nay, need that coffee liqueur in my life! Going to hunt it out… Please be in the UK!!

  7. You guys get all the fun flavours down there! I don’t even think I’ve seen anything but the normal flavour Oreos up here… Le boo. Actually, I think we -might- have had the birthday ones? I can’t remember. And I was never so much into the comic books as I was into the video games… with Link from Legend of Zelda being my biggest crush… err… favourite 😉

  8. Comic book character? Err.. next question -or Quest-ion 😉 – please?! I’ll blame the fact we had all of four TV channels when I was a child none of them showing cartoons. Needless to say I was really excited whenever I got the chance to watch some at friends’ houses. And the only comic books in our house were my brother’s Donald Duck stories. Lame-o. Just like the Oreo selection over here. I’m not even going into it because you’d be shocked.

  9. Umm hey does your sister want to send some of those cinnamon rolls up here? 😉

My favourite comic book character is Archie! Does that count? Haha.

  10. I want to come over. Bacon wrapped cinnamon rolls. Oreos. Patron Cafe. And that art. I love it. I totally need to hang things on my walls.

I had a really amazing ham, apple and swiss pastry the other day. Totally worth every bite. 🙂

Ohhhh, sounds like sweet and salty perfection! Come on over, I’ll pester my sister for more cinnamon rolls and we’ll dip oreos in Patron-spiked coffee while surfing Pinterest for wall art ideas (which basically describes what I do on my days off! ;))

  11. Root beer and oreos….I just can’t mesh them two together. I could get on board with anything that goes well with sweet stuff but…yeah, I think ‘fun’ is the right term.

Now I think your sister needs to guest post on those beauties. Sweet AND salty perfection.

  12. Bacon wrapped cinnamon roll…..decadent, indeed!

I personally have a hard time getting too excited about the various flavors of Oreos. They are usually more novel than genuinely good…..like you said.

They come admirably close, but never seem to replicate the texture and mouthfeel that you come to expect from those dishes. As a facsimile they’re not too bad.

Jonathan! I was just thinking about you the other day! I owe you an email! Do me a favor and if you see any Reese’s Oreos, promise me you’ll give them a try…because they are amazing! 😉
