Fifty Shades of WeekENDing

Hey guys!

So…remember how I said I am late to EVERYTHING? Well, I’m just gonna use that as my excuse for going MIA yesterday.ย Or maybe I was just worn out from all my
dark and dirty confessions on Sunday.ย Or MAYBE it was the distraction of this on-the-edge-of-my-seat movie during a much appreciated slow night at work! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Regardless, I’m here today and ready to share my “what’s up”…my “happenings”…
My holiday weekEND in review!

Week-In-Review-Button

And since Meghan loves me almost as much as she loves lists, cheese, and mad monkey love, I think she’ll forgive myย fashionably lazy lateness! ๐Ÿ˜‰

The week before the Fourth was kinda humdrum…while I continued to put away my fair share of salacious salads, I wasn’t really accomplishing much else…unless resorting to my teenage years and using every opportune moment to sleep counts. What am I saying? Sleep = Sanity…that TOTALLY counts!

With my sleep stores replenished, I had plenty of energy to hang out with the man-friend and do fifty shades of things

Mall Shopping

Like mall shopping…

Bars

Bar stash replenishing…

Sephora Makeup

New addiction finding…

Whole Foods

Whole Foods happy dancing…

Sushi

Sushi loving…

Famers Market Haul

Farmers’ marketing…

Redbox

Movie watching…

Looper = freakin AWESOME and Django = Quentin Tarantino…um, need I say more? ๐Ÿ˜‰

TJ Maxx

HomeGoods prowling…

Still no peanut butter ginger chews! ๐Ÿ™

Suitcases

Trip preparing…

PizzaPizza noshing…

The Man-Friend Shadow

And finally, some park walking!

12 bars, 4 indulgentย pretties, 2 snacks, 3 plates of yum, 8 market goodies, 2 movies, 3 jars of stuff I didn’t need, 2 things I really DID need, 3 cheese-filled dishes, and 1 mysterious
shadow couple!

Wait, what did you THINK I meant by “fifty”? ๐Ÿ˜‰

‘3 jars of stuff I didnโ€™t need’ – that’s ME!! Haha, not only jars, but bags, and pantries FULL of stuff I don’t really need but want.
Your weekend sounds so full of fun and yummy eats! And you just reminded me that I need to start eating my Questbars, if I keep hoarding them, they might get covered with green fur soon, hahaha….remember something?? Still feel so bad!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Haha! Awww, don’t feel bad love! It happens! Sarah (Smart Kitchen) sent me some scones once that did the same thing! Oh and I will begin my shopping spree for you this weekend since I’ll be back in Nashville where all the fun goodies are…how much you want to bet I end up coming home with at LEAST three more jars of stuff for ME?! Lol

  2. haha you’re adorable! I loved The Call! I saw it twice already ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I thought you did 50 different things, which you pretty much did! I always buy stuff I dont NEED but want, its a terrible habit, but I am getting better at it!

  4. That caramel sauce sounds amazing!! And I finally admitted to myself that my bar stash is out of control. I am not letting myself buy anymore for awhile!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

I know the feeling…I cut myself off for a couple of months until I ate through some of my collection. It was starting to get a bit ridiculous, but I can’t help it, I’m always so curious to try new brands and new flavors! Lol

  5. Yummm now I want sushi for lunch! that looks GOOD. and YES- “Sleep = Sanityโ€ฆthat TOTALLY counts!” i couldn’t agree more, that’s my kind of equation right there. and i gotta tell ya- in the “3 jars of stuff i dont need” i beg to differ- i think everyone needs the orange ginger coconut sauce, that sounds soo yummy, i want some! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes are the BEST!!!!!! I could play with the colors all day long!!!!!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Oh my gosh, I never knew until now! I’m always seeing Amanda from Running with Spoons talk about it so I just had to check it out…it makes me feel like a makeup artist! I’ve always just bought my makeup from the pharmacy, but now I can’t go back! Lol

  7. I think you needed that dulce sauce…because I know I certainly do ๐Ÿ˜‰ And Django was amazing. I’m a huge fan of Tarantino, and I think Christoph Waltz is one of the best actors around these days. Looper was good too, but I will say that about anything with Joseph Gordon-Levitt…one of those guys I could just look at all day!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Wasn’t it SO crazy though to see JGL in all that make up? I couldn’t get over the resemblance! And although Django was the first movie I’ve ever seen Chritoph Waltz in, I think I’d have to agree with you! I loved his character! I’ll have to check out more movies with him!

PS, I’m afraid to open the dulce…I just know it’s going to be the best thing ever and then I’ll never be able to find it again! Lol

  8. Ahhh, now I need to see Looper again. Can we talk about the makeup job they did on JGL to make him look like Bruce Willis? Bizarre! But also amazing.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

I know, right?! In the scenes where they were sitting across from each other, I was like, “oh man, look at that…and that…and they even made that look like THAT!” Haha Yeah, I’m easily amused! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  9. I know exactly where to find those ginger PB chews in Atlanta!! I’d offer to send you some… but I really want to just tempt you to use that fancy luggage for a trip to ATL.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Haha! Well, as soon as I coordinate with Ashley, I will DEFINITELY be making my way down…I need another trip to IKEA…gotta find a new kitchen table to fill the awkward space that is my dining room now! Never realized how much I actually used it until I sold it! Lol

  10. Haha. You are super smart ๐Ÿ˜‰ Love that ending! ๐Ÿ™‚

I want to see Django Unchained because I think Leonardo DiCaprio is amazing. Did you like it? (Gosh, grilling you for movie advice two weeks in a row! Lol). My dad rented it without my knowledge and watched it, then deemed that I wouldn’t like it… But I have my doubts.

Are those suitcases seriously light? I bet it is kind of surreal to pick them up and expect the usual heaviness. And I had to click on your “trip” link to see what trip you were taking because I forgot. How could I forget though? Only the most fantastic opportunity ever!! I am so excited to read your recaps (assuming that you will have recaps?!!) and the recipe that you create with the Yoplait team ๐Ÿ˜€

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Haha! Oh Madison, you are TOO cute! First off, I will DEFINITELY be doing some recaps! Only trouble will be condensing it down so I’m not posting about it ALL week long! Haha! And as far as the movie goes, if you plan to expect the normal over the top explosions and bloody scenes Quentin Tarantino-ness and just laugh and roll your eyes, you’ll be fine! It’s a bit gory, but in a “that would NEVER happen” sort of way so it’s not as easy to be affected by it. Plus, any movie with Leo is worth it in my book! Have you seen Gatsby yet? I’m hoping to go this weekend!

  11. Kat says:

Ok seriously JEALOUS of everything in this post!! 1st off Ive never had a Quest bar, so curse you for not only getting some but getting a great deal on them!! And Sephora…good heavens that place sucks me in every time. I love makeup! Actually just products in general lol
And those suitcases are soooo cute!! I never travel so I just use my large soccer duffel bag whenever we go on trips (which are usually just to my daddys), but one day Id love some “big girl” suitcases!

  12. You can kid all you want, but I know exactly what you meant by fifty shades. Plus, your little numbers game at the end only added up to forty. Busted, you dirty birdie. ๐Ÿ˜‰
I watched Django this past weekend too, and I loved it. I’m a sucker for Tarantino flicks though.
I’m excited for your travels and I just hope Yoplait knows what they’re in for, and I can’t wait to see what you concoct.
P.S. Late or not, you are always welcome to the party. Bring the man-friend; we’ll make it a double date.

  13. Rachel says:

That orange, ginger and coconut sauce looks AMAZING!

  14. Dulce de leche is possibly one of my favourite things in the world! Especially on ice cream, or mixed into icing, or in cupcakes, or you know… just by the spoonful. ๐Ÿ˜€ I’m also really intrigued by that orange, ginger and coconut sauce! How are you planning to use that one?

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Oh my gosh, I’m only just rediscovering my love of caramel! I’ve been looking for a good one so when I saw this, I just HAD to have it, but now I have to resist just hoarding it for months! Lol

The sauce is actually a bit more mild tasting than I expected, but doctored up with a bit of extra ginger and some garlic, it made an awesome stir fry! ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. Tara says:

Mmm, that sushi and pizza looks damn good right now. Funny how I live in Asia and have yet to eat sushi here? Very jealous of your Whole Foods finds as well!! Glad you had a delicious weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. That orange ginger coconut sauce looks yummy! I’ve never seen that before! And YUM for pizza ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. You always find the best deals at TJ’s! I just found the peanut butter ginger chews at Marshalls! I picked up a bag even though I’m trying not to eat peanuts or sugar right now. Couldn’t resist, so good!

  18. Yum to that sushi and pretty much all the food pictures on this page!!!!

Actually the pizza is probably even better than the sushi, lets be honest here ๐Ÿ˜‰

  19. I was super disappointed to find nowhere offering 25% off boxed Quest bars lol. I did, however, share in the fig excitement this weekend! Grapes are also back in season which make me way too happy for my own good.

  20. The pizza looks SO good!

I love finding all kinds of things at HomeGoods, Marshalls and TJ Max! I’m actually taking my sister-in-law to HomeGoods tomorrow since she hasn’t been there. I’m sure we will come home with lots of random goodies!

  21. Mmmmm . . . sushi! Looks so good–I’m totally craving a good sushi dinner. Maybe this weekend. How cute is your new luggage?! Love it. Can’t lose those in an airport!!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

That was my plan EXACTLY! Buy the most obnoxious colored/patterned luggage I could find…CHECK! Plus, it helps me bond with my inner Punky Brewster! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  22. OMG you got some good shit! Those sauces from Home Goods look good! You reminded me that I need to order more P28 flat bread too. And I didn’t know they could make whole wheat sourdough. Awesome. My boyfriend will be happy!
