Do Rei “ME”!!

Happy Monday to all my sweets!

You know what? It’s been more than a few WEEKS since I’ve linked up with Meghan and her “FEETS”! Last week, it was all about the serious speak, but today, I think it’s time to start listing some deets…

Week-In-Rhyming-Review-Button

And hey, if it all rhymed, wouldn’t that be kinda neat? Oh c’mon, I know I can’t be the only easily amused word freak! 😉

WorkoutsSo first up, I got on my feet and OFF my seat!

Oh yeah! I made it to the gym FOUR days last week and on Wednesday, since the weather was fan-freakin-tabulous, I headed down to my favorite park for some ralking
(reading + walking = Webster, get on that!).

I’ll admit, I had a few days where I just wasn’t feeling it. I’m mixing things up so I can find a good groove, but mostly I’ve been sticking to some light cardio warm ups followed by 20-30 minutes of free weights/machines/body weight exercises. I attempted some lower body moves one day that didn’t really work out so well, but other than that, I’d say it’s going well! I may or may not have made a point to complain to my coworkers about being sore JUST so I could tell them it was because I worked out! 😉

Granola FailThen there was a minor kitchen defeat…

On Wednesday, in an attempt to surprise my foodie pen pal with a homemade treat, I decided to whip up  burn the HELL out of some granola. Unfortunately, my little snafu prevented me from sending her package off a day early (which would have been a tiny victory for this procrastinator!)

Almond Joy GranolaBut luckily, there was a victory that turned out really frickin’ SWEET!

Recipe coming soon!

Essie Sunday FundayThere were a few moments of peace…

Much needed “me time” complete with a self-manicure, Netflix marathoning, the aforementioned “ralk” and TWELVE HOURS of sleep on Thursday night…
thank you Hay-Seuss! 😉

The Woodlands Indian RestaurantAnd some lunch without meat!

After raving about this vegetarian lunch buffet for months now, the man-friend finally got a chance to introduce me to The Woodlands Indian Restaurant. It was only my second time trying Indian food so I was excited to try a little bit of everything. I’m not a big fan of rice, but there were plenty of other selections that were incredible! They had a Mongolian cauliflower dish (the red stuff on the right side of the plate) that was to die for!

Besties

There were laughs with two girls who could never be beat!

BBQ Plate

At a party where we were served QUITE the feast…

Let’s hear it for the deviled eggs, right Sam? 😉

BBQ Dessert

Complete with some little treats…

Baby Feet

But my favorite part had to be the baby feets! 😀

And last, but certainly not LEAST, for yesterday, all the negative self thoughts came to a cease…I looked in the mirror and all I saw was ME!

SwimsuitsAnd I ended up indulging in a bit of a shopping SPREE!!

First store (I heart Khol’s), not one piece over twelve bucks, and I ended up with TWO (and a half) suits that fit quite nicely, play up the “girls”, and if I should go so far, make me feel kinda sexy! 😀

Tell me something from YOUR week…bonus points if you make it rhyme!

Your vacation in these beautiful bikinis will be a blast – you better hurry up and get to Florida fast!
Homemade Granola, oh holy yumm – I think I would mix them with some jelly and then they’d need to go directly into my belly!
Dessert platter is the star of every feast – as you show with 4 different yummers at least!!
Ok, that’s it – my Swiss-English-Rhymes got me really exhausted, holy crap – now I need a NAP! Hahaha, Happy Monday!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Omg, Lucie!! I love it! And I’m seriously laughing out loud right now! Those rhyming skills are seriously sick…you wouldn’t even guess English isn’t the first language for this chick! 😉

  2. Fran@BCDC says:

Great post, Heather! Sounds like a great week!!

  3. Baby feet 🙂 << If I could put in the emoji with hearts for eyes, I so would. I love that you bought sexy bathing suits. Go girrrrrrl. I bet you look killer in them.

  4. Missy says:

Love those bikinis, especially that chevron top! You did very good and I know you will be lookin so smokin hot in them!
Baby feet are my weakness, I love them!!!

  5. ….now I want deviled eggs 😉 I need to convince random family members to throw another BBQ or event, otherwise I’ll be waiting until (Canadian) Thanksgiving! Way too long for that awesomeness.

Oh my god, Indian food. I adore it but don’t eat it nearly often enough…although, I am planning on making chicken korma for dinner tomorrow night…the sauce comes from a jar, so I’ll just call it semi-homemade 😉

    Love the bathing suits!

  6. Haha how fun!! 🙂 And those suits are super cute. I’m sure you look amazing!

    Have a fantastic weekend, girl!

  7. Victory!!! Hooray!
Woman! Ok you have to look at your post and really look at it. You had an AMAZING week. You went to the gym FOUR times! It doesn’t matter if you crapped out early or did an entire routine, the fact is you made it there FOUR times and did something active. You made treats, ate treats, had fun with friends…girl, happy times!!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

You are SO right! And you know what? I think it was just me finding my groove because this week has been fan-freakin’-tastic! *jazz hands* 😉

  8. Lisa says:

    Love the bikinis! Pretty colors!
    I’m all about the brightness.
And what is it about baby feet that can make me smile. I can’t say that about adult feet…yuck.
And you are amazing for going to the gym for times! Good for you Heather! Looks like things are looking on the upside.
And most importantly you had fun!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Thank you Lisa! Things ARE looking up…I definitely am feeling more positive now! And I feel ya on the adult feet…don’t even get them NEAR me! Lol

  9. It looks like you had quite the week! Mine was rather low key and I actually liked it that way. I’ve realized that I just HAVE to put the rest of the world on pause at times and just breathe. I’ve never tried Indian food and this makes me want to even more. Unfortunately we don’t have much of a variety in our town so I’ll have to make a special trip to check it out soon. Speaking of travel, I went out of town and made my FIRST trip to Whole Foods Market!! Love, love, LOVE that place! I only bought a handful of items and am going to make it a point to go back again next month.

And congrats on finding bathing suits that are not only pretty, but that you feel amazing in as well! Bring that sexy on girl!

  10. Haha – you have fun playing up those girls!!! 😉

And 12 hours of sleep sounds glorious – I bet that did wonders for your mental state too.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Ok, ok…so maybe their not as voluptuous and buoyant as yours, but I know how to werk em! 😉 Heehee

And omg, it DID! Though I haven’t had more than SIX since then! Boo!

  11. That is my FAVORITE Indian restaurant! Lets go together soon… mmkay???

  12. Love the new swim suits & the rhymes! Mmm, that Indian food looks so darn good. I’m not a huge rice fan either, but some of that stuff is just so tasty!!
Looks like a great week!! 🙂

  13. If I had a dollar for every time I burned a batch of granola… at least the second batch looks like it turned out well! It looks like it contains chocolate and coconut, and with those ingredients it can only be awesome!

Mmm nothing like some good BBQed eats. I had some BBQ fare this weekend too… but no deviled eggs. Rats, I knew I forgot something on the menu. 😛

  14. you better feel sexy babe 😀 so happy for you

  15. I wish I could wear me a bikini! And kudos for getting all the workouts in. Doing much better than me!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Well, I was physically there…not so much mentally though! Yeah, I’ve still got some work to do…

How have you been, girl? Miss you!

  16. Travelling for work is such a jerk,
Can’t wait to be back home and all alone! (although really with my bf but that didn’t rhyme).

Your bikini is too cute! 🙂 Well done on the 4 gym visits and the 2nd attempt at granola.

  17. Damn, ralking! Now that sounds perfect for this walk loving bookworm!

Those bikinis are so so cute! I want to buy a new one for our Bali honeymoon – but since I never go swimming and worse my bikini maybe once last season I feel like I should just wear that one. Oh the dilemmas! Haha

This week has been crazy hectic! Mama SIL has turned into mum of the bride-zilla (I’m possibly too calm for a bride to be though haha) and is driving me crazy! She’s booked about 10 appointments this week for different things and I also have 12 articles to write for my clients and then have to keep up with the blog too! Crazy town, I tell you!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Oh honey! Sounds like you need a good ralk right about now! Just remember…one thing at a time, the blog can always wait, and don’t forget to breathe! And I’m thinking you are very much deserving of a new suit…I mean, it IS your honeymoon! 😀

  18. Whoo hoo! I knew you’d find a cute suit…now are you going to do some Sports Illustrated modeling on the beach? 😉

  19. calee says:

woo, woo, bikini success! and you’re killin’ me, smalls, with that indian buffet! I would murder somebody for some ethnic food right now.

  20. Sarah Pie says:

Those bikinis looks so cute 🙂 Stinks about the first batch of the granola but the second batch looks amazing!

  21. Seeing your gorgeous nails all the time has inspired me to go out and buy a new nail polish (that I don’t have a whole box full at home… I just never use them!) Now that that steps done, I only need to actually PAINT my nails 😉

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Too funny, I JUST finished painting my nails again…ANOTHER new color (and yeah, I’m pretending that box I have isn’t spilling over with bottles of “old/not so fun” colors)! I’m starting to think weekly manicures are just another way for me to express my ADD! Lol

  22. Thanks for linking up love and being a rhyming machine. Very cute. Speaking of cute, those nails, the baby feet and your swimsuits are adorable. I’m not a kid person, but you can’t resist baby feet. Sounds like a perfectly delightful week to me, and I love you are making granola now. I can’t wait to see all the amazing flavors you’ll concoct.
