Hey youuuuuuu gaaaaa-EYES!!!
Sorry, I may or may not still be riding the high that was my weekend! I sincerely hope that each and every one of you had as great a time as I did! Even without an INKLING of a plan, I was surprised to see that this weekend was yet another deserving of the title of wonderful…perfect…and yep, you guessed it, MARVELOUS!
How about…HOW ABOUT?!?! I transitioned from holding crow pose for a few seconds…to a minute…to getting into a FREAKING HEADSTAND without falling ONCE?!?!
When I saw this puppy on the menu, I couldn’t resist!
Strawberry Bliss Roll: Tempura shrimp, snow crab mix and avocado topped with fresh strawberries and strawberry sauce sprinkled with finely chopped peanuts.
Umm, I’m sorry, but can we say P-B-AND-J?!?!
Seriously, last meal worthy!
I thought the first movie was good…I’m a sucker for Nicolas Cage so I wasn’t really sure if the sequel was going to be any good without him, but OMG, my friend and I laughed our ASSES off!
Chloe Grace Moretz…keep an eye on that girl…she’s going places!
Ok, so I’ve been saying for YEARS that Clarksville really needs a GOOD Mexican restaurant…well, we FINALLY got one…and they have CHEESY mashed potatoes…in a serving the size of a small child!
I’m not complaining! 😉
They also have 21 ounce ITALIAN margaritas…as in with amaretto…as in I was basically licking the ice cubes when I was done!
After MONTHS of not seeing this girl, after a quick text Thursday night, we realized that our work schedules would finally sync up! I volunteered to work an extra (day) shift on Saturday, but after I got off at 8pm, Tori and I met at the casa for some MUCH NEEDED sister-sister bonding (and picture) time.
And since she just got promoted to bartender at the restaurant where she works, I just HAD to have her show me some of her new talents!
The “Dory”: Coconut rum + Curacao + Sprite + pineapple juice = YUM!
Just keep swimming! 😉
What can I say? You guys should know that this happens EVERY time we together…I promise we weren’t even drunk! Lol
Aka redemption! 😉
I’m SO excited I got to see my bestie this weekend! She invited me over to Easter lunch with her family yesterday and it was so much fun! After watching the kids go crazy stumbling all over the yard looking for eggs, we sat down to one HECK of a meal…her mom is one of the best cooks and has been for as long as I remember!
Our Easter spread was absolutely delicious…the most tender and juicy roast I’ve EVER had, cheesy squash casserole, cheesy spinach, cheesy macaroni, and a dinner roll to soak it all up! The only thing missing? Deviled eggs!
I seriously can’t even remember the last time I had cool whip…I mean strawberry shortcake…omg, I love cool whip…I mean STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE!!
Before the “workweek” started last night, I made sure to soak up the last bits of sun (it got up to 86F (30C) yesterday!!) while I savored each and every ounce of that coffee!
The perfect end to the weekend: A free Redbox rental code emailed to me yesterday! Seriously, if you haven’t seen this movie, you need to rent it right NOW! I laughed, I (almost) cried, I basked in all the girly glory and painted my nails while I watched! 😉
Yeah, so I triiiiiied the whole “one word” thing, but that didn’t really work out, did it?
Describe your weekend in…THREE words!
So much deliciousness in your post I feel like I don’t know what to call out love for first. Actually yes I do my heart always lies with sushi and the pb and j style kind you had sounded amazing. One day I will live out my dream of eating true American style Mac n cheese as that looks delicious!
I’ve not heard of About Time but you’ve made me intrigued to want to watch it now.
Three words: Cooking, Cleaning, EATING!
Oh girl, you HAVE to see the movie…it’s so good I think I’m gonna buy it! <- And that is REALLY saying something since my movie collection is pretty particular! 😉 I tagged you in a sushi post I found on Instagram...I hope you see it...pornorific for sure! Lol And I'll give you a bit of advice on the traditional mac n cheese...try a stovetop version. The baked ones almost always end up dried out...in my opinion anyway!
OMG…I’ve had sushi like that before and it was to die for!!! SOOOOO good!
My weekend in three words: cooking, family and eating!
Ah I hear About Time is supposed to be good!!! You and your sis look so much alike! Glad you were able to have some sister bonding time 🙂
Aww, really? You think so? I think as we get older, we start to have more similarities…but when we were kids, you’d never have guessed we were related (because I was a blonde!). And omg, you HAVE to see About Time! You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll thank me later! 😉
Nama-freaking-STE! I love you, girl!
So I want that sushi. And that drink your sister made! I will definitely be recreating that last one, it sounds amazing.
Three words?: warm, relaxing, lazy!
Oh my goodness, that sushi sounds SO AMAZING. And those margs… oh yeahhh haha sounds like a great weekend!!
I saw you post about that margarita on instagram I think and I looked up about a thousand recipes for it BECAUSE I MUST MAKE IT MINE
Seriously…this is my new favorite margarita combo! Of course, I’m pretty sure you can put amaretto in ANYTHING and it’ll be 1000 times better! 😉
Holy buckets that’s one heck of a weekend!! I LOVE cool whip…might have to add that to the grocery list this week haha. Not sure what I will use it for..aside from eating it with a spoon..
Glad you had a great Easter weekend! I got home to Nebraska to see the family and it was so good seeing everyone…especially my nephew who is the cutest kid I’ve seen in my life.
Haha! Omg, I thought I was the only one! Actually…I’m not sure the last time I bought some and actually used it for a recipe! Lol
Aww, so glad you got to spend Easter weekend with the fam!
Three words: Prague, Shopping, Snowboarding!
Aww, this post screams fun and happiness!! SO perfect!
And aren’t sibling – selfies the best? I swear, my bro’s and mine are too silly to be shown in public. Without any alcohol. Lol.
Oh and congrats on crow pose and headstand!! Good work!!
Thanks, lady! And yes, it’s ridiculous how crazy me and the sis can get when we’re together…and to think, we used to not like each other when we were kids! Lol
Girl look at you kicking that yoga’s ass!! That’s some mad skill woman! And what a fun filled weekend…. sisters AND beasties?! Majorly jealous of that, especially since my sister left last week and I haven’t seen my beastie in a month. [sad face]
Three words to describe my weekend??? Grace filled life
Awww! Best three words EVER! I love you, girlie! xoxo
OMG I almost totally went psycho on the comments section of your Easter food on IG. I thought it was funny in my head and then I just knew someone would get upset…;)
But it had something to do with “omg is that vegan, gluten free, grain free pound cake with fresh organic locally sourced strawberries and dairy-free rice whip?!” and I know only YOU would get our joke so… 😉
And I would’ve been like, “Gurrrrrrrl, don’t you know the controversy going on right now with GMO rice? I’m sure….I mean you HAD to have meant coconut cream…because then of course it would be perfectly paleo too!” 😛
Three things I am jealous of: sushi, popcorn, Dory drinks. I’m glad you has such a nice weekend! My weekend: Greek food overload.
I looooved About Time! Definitely one of the best chick flicks in recent years… is it just me or do they just not make chick flicks like they used to?!
My weekend in three words: Food. Hiking. Girls (the tv show… I totally binge watched it this weekend!)
No, I’m with you on the movie thing…they’re almost to the point where they’re just so predictable. I feel like if you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all. I really liked the twists and turns in this and how the love story wasn’t actually the MAIN story but you didn’t feel shortchanged.
I LOVE sushi and that looks AMAZEBALLS!
You literally had the best eats this weekend! I am in love with cheese right now and all of that looked amazing!
I need that strawberry shortcake in my life, along with a triple of one of those delicious blue draanks.
You can tell this weekend was marvelous. It is oozing out of every picture and word you wrote. It sounds fantastic and I’m thrilled for you. Sister and bestie time is super important, almost as much so as cheese. Speaking of, I think I’d get along great with the bestie’s mom. You need to hook us up, and I’ll take two Dory’s please.
Omg, WOULD you?! You would absolutely DIE if you had her Tex Mex spread…she’s from Houston and cooks just like a Meximama! O-freaking-LAY! 😉
Oh my gawddd dat sushi looks so so so good!
Weekend in three words: Food Coma + Family.
Hey you didn’t say anything about symbols counting as one of the words 😉
Haha! Nice. Way to beat “the system” girlie! I must be rubbing off on you! 😉
I love the strawberry shortcake coffee! Congrats on your feat – I am so terrible at crow pose – my jiggly upper arms prevent my legs from staying!
I actually want to see Kick Ass 2. This would come as a bigger shocker to you if you were with my brother and I when I was forced to watch the first one. Such a good story line but just a tad too much for me. And sans Nicholas Cage might actually make it a little more appealing for me. Sorry, he’s great, but I prefer him in standard heroic roles (National Treasure for instance) and not as some psychotic hero/dad. Haha.
That Easter spread does look amazing. We had Chinese on Easter. Yes, really. Since my grandparents are getting older we have started eating out on most holidays (except for Christmas).
Awww, haha! Well, all that really matters is that you’re together as a family, right? And hey, I bet there wasn’t any wait at the restaurant! 😉 I’m with you on the heroic roles for Nicholas Cage…or the sappy love ones like Family Man! Ahhhh! But really, Kick Ass 2 was sooooo much better than the first one!
Strawberry Bliss Roll… WHAT?! This sounds absolutely fantastic. And your weekend sounds pretty darn amazing! I also watched About Time this weekend… twinsies! I thought it was super good, and I almost cried as well. Oh, and sister selfies are a total must – always! Xoxox
Right? Omg, there was no WAY I, being the peanut butter and jelly junkie that I am, could pass that roll up! Lol! And that movie…I seriously have to watch it again! Rachel McAdams! <- Need I say more??
That weekend sounds absolutely epic- so glad it panned out well for you my friend.
Well, I guess anything with cheese and potatoes works well- but that’s just standard! I find it fascinating that you’re savouring the coffee- When I cut something out temporarily and brought it back, it really did highlight the ‘savour’ factor.
3 words- Home sickness cured. Or Saffron Chicken overload.
Woo HOO!!! So glad you got your fill…um, I mean got to see your mom!! Oh and you should know that I saw an article about cooking with saffron in a magazine the other day and immediately thought of you! 😉
