Thinking Out Loud: Ridiculously Happy

TGITeeeeeeee!!

Oh my gosh you guys, I have SO much to talk about! Guess it’s a good thing it’s Thursday…no sense wasting time trying to come up with a witty intro…let’s get right to it!

Selfie

Things have been abso-freaking-lutely disgustingly happy around here…you know, if you couldn’t guess by the ridiculous smile on my face! 😉 As you guys know, I usually have a problem getting back to “normal” after vacation, but the fact that I have slid right back into place…or possibly an even BETTER place with my diet and exercise has me pretty darn excited.

After about a MONTH away from the mat, I’m back in the studio and loving it more than ever. I was actually really surprised with how well I did on my first day back…not near as wobbly as I thought I’d be. And yesterday? How about I attempted birds of paradise for the first time? Granted, my bird looked a bit like a clumsy one-winged stork, but STILL!

Gym Selfie - GPP Also, I’ve been in the gym not once but TWICE this week! On Tuesday, I woke up with an itch that only throwing around some dumbbells in a weight room full of dudes could scratch…and since then, I’ve let out a little wimper every time I’ve raised my arms above my head! Ha!

Kombucha!! I made sure to set up another batch so that it would be ready for Farmer Heather to harvest after getting back from Blend. AFTER a quick run to the store, I played around with some new flavors and they are ALL winners!

Homemade Kombucha

Lemon ginger, blueberry, peach ginger, and lavender lemon!

Speaking of a “quick” run to the store…after yoga the other day (yes after…as in I was a sweaty beast and really hoped no one got close enough to smell me), I ran into TJ Maxx for a matter of EXTREME importance: buy the bag of cookies & cream coffee that for some idiotic reason I did NOT buy when I picked it up last week (what’s the word for the opposite of buyer’s remorse??). Anywho! I found my coffee…the LAST bag might I add (whew!) but then, I found THESE!

Lesser Evil Snacks - Nacho Cheese

Impulse buy at it’s absolute BEST! Omg, I’m totally going back for more!

Selfie with the Besties

But it’s not just what’s in my hand on my plate or where my sweat is falling, I’ve been LIVING! Like I mentioned last week, I had another girls night scheduled with the besties last weekend and it proved to be another one for the books…stuffing our faces with LOADS of fondue, laughing our asses off, and drinking way too much wine!

Also, I hung out with my music soul mate again last weekend and I gotta give myself a lil’ pat on the back for the level of impression my taste in music seems to have…my current song obsession that wow’ed? This remix from Flight Facilities…

I’d like to think that if Bumblebee made music (wait for it at…1:08), this is what it would sound like! 😉 Oh and how cool is it that I first discovered this song in yoga? Ha!

What’s making YOU happy right now?

Those lesser evil crisps are SO good! I have only had the green flavor in those, must go to tj maxx to see if they have them at mine!!

    Love you!!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Yay! Always glad to spread the joy…especially to someone who never fails to brighten MY day! Love you, lady! xoxo

  2. Lena says:

“I woke up with an itch that only throwing around some dumbbells in a weight room full of dudes could scratch…” – this line totally made me happy right now 🙂 🙂 🙂 I can definitely relate!
Good to see you so happy!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Haha! Glad to know I’m not the only one! Hard to remember the “old days” when I was scared of even stepping FOOT in the weight room! Lol

  3. Awww, I love to see you so happy girl!!
And oh – girls nights are the BEST, fact!! Fondue and Wine are just the cherry on top (or the kirsch in the Fondue??)
I’m happy cause well…..the sun’s shining, I move in 2 weeks, I am single (which is a GOOD thing meanwhile :-)) and in 1 hours it’s weeeekendnnndndndndndn!!!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

It’s all about the little things…accepting changes…big or small that map out the course of our lives…and making the MOST of them! So happy to hear you are in a good place, love! SO HAPPY! Love you!

  4. Your smile is making me happy right now. You can’t fake that! Such a beautiful smile.
Loving all your Blend stuff. I have been making notes of all the great blog conventions. One of these days I am going to have to attend one! 🙂

We just joined the Y this week, so I am happy about getting in to some water aerobics and general low impact goodness to get this body back on track!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Thank you, Chrystal! And I have to say, although I may be a little biased of course (ha!), but I think Blend is THE best of the blog conferences…at least in terms of socializing/networking. I love that there isn’t a rigid schedule to adhere to…the laid back atmosphere makes it just feel like a huge getaway!

And yay for the Y! I love having my membership…even if I’m only now getting back into the habit of using it (what yoga addiction? Haha!). I really need to get back in the pool! That’s sounding all sorts of good right now!

  5. your happiness and smile is contagious! — so thank you! 🙂

  6. This post gives me all sorts of energy! I love it! (And need it!) So happy to hear YOU are happy and things are going well this week. Fondue + wine – what could be better?!!?

  7. Aww girl! Reading about how happy you are makes ME super happy… as does that song. I fell in love with it when you first posted it, and yeah… so good.

As for what’s making me happy… this morning it’s my extra large cup of coffee 😆 For whatever reason, I’m super tired today so the extra caffeine is much appreciated. Now to wait for it to kick in so I can get all sorts of hyper and productive.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Woo hoo! Gotta love a good hyper and productive caffeine boost! After years of trying to wean myself off decaf (like seriously, WHO does that?! Lol!), I’ve finally gotten to a point where I can have a FULL cup of caffeinated coffee withOUT feeling like I’m going to have a heart attack! #winning

And ha, I forgot I’d already posted about this song until just now…memory…goldfish…me! Yup! 😉

  8. It makes me happy that you’re happy! I’m going to go buy kombucha today when I hit up the health food store, because I’m still waaaay too intimidated to make my own. One day!

  9. Awwww you are GLOWING!!!! I love seeing you so happy 🙂 You are such a joy to everyone else, I’m glad you’ve got a whole-bunch-of-happy going on 🙂

  10. Heather you look radiant! I love your hair color- totally jealous over here:) And enjoy plenty of that kombucha for me:) It looks yummy but my poor system can’t handle the super powers of fermented foods so drink up for me too!:)

Glad you’re enjoying your workouts more now. I find that a change of pace or taking a short break always puts me back into the swings of things with much more gusto:)

    Have a great Thursday!:)

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Thank you, Heather!! You are too sweet! And oh my gosh, YES! I was just telling a friend how much more I “feel” my practice now after being away for a while…definitely appreciating what it does for my mind and body even more than before!

  11. I’m loving the positive vibes around here!! I always have a hard time getting back into the swing of things after vacay too but it sounds like you’re doing great. I’d say that trip to TJ Maxx was a score. Those chips look delicious!

  12. I’m glad you were able to slip back into your good habits…and I’m extremely glad you snagged that last bag of coffee ;-). I have been obsessed with that Flight Facilities song forever and just recently discovered the Adventure Club remix. Love.

  13. I’m happy YOU are happy! Endorphins and girls nights will do that for ya! Keep it up!!! <3

  14. So cute! Love our yoga obsession lately! Who woulda thunk it?

  15. You look absolutely RADIANT, friend! I’m so glad to hear life is treating you well. 🙂
I recently got back into my yoga practice too. It had been a few mos since my last sesh & I’m happy to be back at it on a regular basis.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Aww, thanks so much, Jo!! So great you’ve gotten back to practicing again…I missed it so much, but honestly, I think the break helped me appreciate what it does for my body (and mind) even that much more!

  16. I am thrilled to see you so happy and living it up, despite the odd of order kombucha. Don’t think I didn’t notice that.

I’m actually a tad bit disappointed I’m going out of town this weekend because I’m going to miss my Saturday morning outdoor yoga class…it’s right in the park by my place. Talk about convenient and incredibly Zen.

As for what’s making me happy…having the Hubby home. He made me Potato Salad with our fresh farmers market dill earlier this week and last night he washed, spun and got ready a giant head of lettuce from our CSA. Having my partner in crime back makes everything 1,000 times better. Seeing you so happy helps too. 🙂

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Bahaha! Actually, that was an accident…the picture I was initially going to use had the blueberry and the lavender lemon reversed but the light was better in this one so I switched it out at the last minute…oops! Sorry if I made your eye twitch, love! 😉

Oh my gosh, yoga in the park would be fantastic! They used to have one here in town, but I never got to check it out. I’ll have to do some Googling and see if they’ve brought it back at all!

Aww, yay! I know how friggin excited you are to have the hubby home…and I’m sure he’s a bit more useful than just for CSA food prepping! hint, hink…wink, WINK! Lol

  17. Kaitlin says:

That kombucha!! Looks so good! I’ll have to try out some on my own 🙂

  18. You’re going to love the ginger in the kombocha. I was adding it to everything I made! Peach lavender = brilliant!

Come to ATL for Matt Nathanson!!!

  19. Kat says:

There’s so much goodness happening for you right now! And I have yet to try kombocha, but yours looks and sounds too pretty to pass up on. Maybe I’ll have to go and pick some up…just to see….
Whats making me happy right now? MY KETTLEBELL! Im dealing with a bit of an injury at the moment, but my kettlebell has been keeping me sweaty and sore regardless. I love that thing enough to cuddle with it…which wont be comfy, but whatever 😉

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Haha! Girl, you’re a riot! I’m thinking we need to paint a face on Mr. Kettlebell…perhaps call him Wilson? 😉

  20. ah you seem so happy 😀 i love it Heather

  21. Look at that radiance- it’s not fake, false or forced- it’s 100% real. And that makes me happy.

You need to stop giving me S’mores envy. Seriously. Every time you have a girl’s night, I go on instagram and cry a river.

  22. Calee says:

I’m happy that I’ve been able to see some long-lost friends in the last few weeks. One of which makes me super duper happy because I’ve not seen him in so freaking long. Happy day!
