Recipe Roundup: Fall Favorites

Hey you gaaaaaaa-uys!

Sorry, did I fail to mention that Thursday with the sis involved a night with the Goonies? I swear I’ve been quoting it non-stop ever since! Ha! N-E-waaaay, I thought I’d pop in and “see” you guys before all the fun, food, and festivities begin with my favorite carb-loving foodie! So…What’s up? How ya been? Week going well? How’s the weather?? 😉

I’m not sure if it’s the cooler temps we’ve been having AND my new-found freedom with food, but I’ve definitely been feeling the itch for the kitch lately! I know I was pretty much double-fisting summer berries every day last week, but now that my fridge is cleaned out, it just feels time to bust out the fall flavors.

Today, I thought I’d share some of my favorite KMB FALL RECIPES along with a few from blogs I’ve been drooling over lately in case you guys are feeling the same way…and don’t worry, not ALL of them are pumpkin! 😉

Seriously guys, you have NO idea how hard it was to narrow those down. I work really hard on my recipes and love them ALL…it’s like asking a mother to pick her favorite child! Ha! And as for the children of other mothers I’ve been looking to kidnap recipes I’ve been stockpiling and drooling over lately?

Nicole’s Pumpkin & Fig Pie

Madison’s Apple Chunk Cinnamon Rolls

Amanda’s Pumpkin Spice Scones

Sarena’s Roasted Kabocha Custard

Amanda’s Fig & Goat Cheese Muffins

Well, that’s it…for NOW! I’m seriously not even joking when I say my Pinterest boards are about to explode! I’ve just been so inspired and motivated lately. Only thing I need is a good kitchen booty shakin’ session…but I’m sure that will happen at least once over the next couple of days! Hope y’all have a great Tuesday! I’m off to beg Meg for a blueberry sandwich! And don’t worry, I’ll be sure to document ALL our mouthgasmic moments! 😉

  1. that smoothie looks AMAZING!!!!

  2. It took me a good minute to figure out what N-E-way was. Haha. You’re too smart.

Meghan will definitely be glad about the Fall recipes without pumpkin. She was who I had in mind for my last Fall WIAW post. 😀 I think you need to make it your mission this week when you’re here in Ohio to convert her.

Mouth watering. Those pictures are all incredible and I want to make them all right now. Especially the oatmeal, pancakes, and french toast. So basically- almost everything 😉

Thanks so much for sharing one of my cinnamon roll recipes! You have a nice variety going on there. I think the only other one I hadn’t seen was the fig pie so I checked that out and it looks so good.

Well ya know…what can I say? *brushes fingertips across chest* I happen to be OH so clever! And pretty modest too, no? 😉

But seriously, thank you, Madison! You are SO sweet! And I can’t WAIT to try your cinnamon rolls! I have some apples in the fridge at home just WAITING to be wrapped in cinnamon deliciousness! Ha!

  3. Jessie says:

You should feel honored.. wanna know why?? Of course you do! Well, this post just so happen to not only get saved but it has it’s own folder titled “mouthgasm fall recipes”.

  4. I’m *obsessed* with the magical, beautiful, fated-to-be marriage of ginger and pear. I make very spicy gingerbread topped with caramelized pears. They get all sugary in the oven. (But the rest of my family doesn’t love it because I use 3x the required amount of ginger.) Those granola bars are pretty attractive, too.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Thank you, Sarah! And wow, that is one SPICY gingerbread indeed! But you totally had me with the caramelized pear topping! Sounds amazing!

  5. Literally everything looks amazing but THANK YOU for the vegan french toast! 🙂 yay I’ll let you know when I make it because it sounds/looks delicious!!!

  6. Just because you CAN make something other than breakfast doesn’t mean you should. Your pancakes make me swoon. But I’m sure I’d love your “regular” food too. 😉

I want to make this Tamarind Eggplant & Chuickpea dish: http://tastespace.wordpress.com/2013/10/08/tamarind-roasted-eggplant-and-chickpeas/
And the Sweet Potato Pizza Crust Kat made for her guest spot on my blog: http://www.sprint2thetable.com/2013/09/sweet-potato-pizza-crust/

AND… your zucchini pancakes from Sunday before last!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

My “regular but forever strange” food you mean? 😉 That Indian dish sounds great! I actually have a jar of tamarind paste that I picked up FOREVER ago and have yet to do anything with! And there just happens to be a sweet potato waiting at home on the counter for that EXACT pizza crust once I get home! 🙂

      Go make those pancakes!

  7. All of your recipes sound really good, especially the kale salad! I’m really trying to get myself to eat more kale. It’s so good for you and I really like it as long as it’s prepared in a way that helps to get rid of some of the bitterness. As a major granola lover your apple pie granola also sounds right up my ally! Thanks for sharing my pie too!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

You’re welcome! I seriously can’t wait to try it…I’ve been looking for a good, clean pumpkin pie recipe for years now…and I’ve had a LOT of duds! I definitely recommend the saute! With the tart cranberries and that little bit of maple syrup, it totally cancels out all of the bitterness from the kale!

  8. Lucie says:

What?? Wow now…..I am overwhelmed. I don’t know which one I want the most! But I need to pick the ones without pumpkin spice, because….YES. No pumpkin spice in Switzerland. Give me crack.
Oh, I want to join that booty shakin’ kitchen session with you ! I bring the kitchen playlist! Deal??

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Well that’s an EASY fix! Just mix up some ginger, nutmeg, and cloves with double the amount of cinnamon…BAM! Homemade pumpkin spice! I make it all the time! Orrrrr better yet, just come over with that playlist and I’ll give you some of mine! 😀

  9. Girl. I thought we were friends. Why are you doing this to me? First the crazy sandwich from yesterday, now all the delicious fall eats? Gah! That s’mores oatmeal looks out of this world…

But I know what you mean about it being hard to narrow things down at this time of the year… I think that has to do with the fact that te kitchen is one of the best places to be as the dad get colder and shorter. Personally, I know most of my recipe making happens I the fall time… Which is part of the reason that I love it so much 😉

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Awww, don’t hate! If I bring you a few (or ten) cans of pumpkin, will you forgive me?! 😉

And yeah, I have to agree with you on the fall cooking…once it gets dark and cold out, nobody wants to do anything outside! Might as well stay and stay warm with the oven on! 😀

  10. One of everything please! 🙂

  11. Ahh, these all look so delicious! Thanks for sharing all of these mouth-watering recipes! The pumpkin fest is now in full swing…

  12. i really appreciated this post! i just opened my first can of pumpkin today, OBVIOUSLY thought of YOU, and am excited to try some pumpkin recipes.

  13. God bless these recipes! Haha, this makes me even more excited for fall.. which I didn’t think was possible! Thank you! Can’t wait to try them out 🙂

  14. BRB WHILE I PIN ALL OF THESE. Yum. Have fun visiting Meghan! Hilarious that you’re going to Cleveland too (since I just got back from there!) 🙂

  15. I am SO making that pumpkin french toast! That pretty much sounds like heaven :).

  16. Oh My – these are all rediculously delish looking…cannot wait to try “Peanut butter and smores oatmeal” Gawsh!!! Scrumptiousness in a bowl!
    Thanks for sharing these 🙂

    • kissmybroccoli says:

You’re welcom, Shashi! The PB S’mores Oats are definitely one of my favorites! I just can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve made a bowl…obviously that needs to change very VERY soon! 😉

  17. Apple pie granola!! Whoaaaaa YUMMM!

  18. Dang! These all look awesome. Those smores oats are calling my name…. and those apple rolls. oooh!

Annnd now I’m going to be calling out sloth style all day too. My kids will think I’m nuts. Ok, more nuts.

  19. That peanut butter s’mores oatmeal…………. I am speechless. Well done, my friend. This post is perfection.

  20. Kat says:

LOOOOOVE me some Goonies!! My baby sister was addicted to that movie when she was like 5. We would watch it AT LEAST twice a day. Needless to say I have it memorized 🙂

And seriously, I hate you for this post. Im sick, cant taste or smell a thing, and all I want to do is eat everything on the screen. I just wanna taste my food again!!!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Oh honey! Still not better? Did you see my link to the Oscillococcinum I left on your blog the other day? Funny name, but I swear that stuff works MIRACLES!!

  21. So…I just ate lunch. And now I want to eat lunch again, but everything you posted :-p Going to check out that smoothie recipe!

  22. Are you God because I think I died and went to foodie heaven!?!?! Seriously, WOW. Girl you NEED to publish a cookbook! I’ll do your PR since we both know I’m kind of obsessed with you 😉

  23. I want all of this right now!! Literally, I’m drooling. How embarrassing! 😉

  24. Ok I seriously just want to make everything in this post. The ginger pear pancakes, the pumpkin coconut smoothie… I’m so overwhelmed I don’t even know where to start!

Some of my favourite fall recipes are Amanda’s pumpkin chocolate chip loaf (http://www.runningwithspoons.com/for-spoons/chocolate-chip-pumpkin-bread) and this pumpkin cornbread (http://tastykitchen.com/recipes/breads/pumpkin-cornbread). And I’m sure the recipes in this post are going to quickly become my favourites too. 😉

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Oh yes! Amanda’s pumpkin bread is the BEST! I added nuts instead of chocolate chips when I made it, but it was fantastic nonetheless! I’ve tried a couple of pumpkin cornbread recipes in the past but have been less than impressed (they just tasted like regular cornbread) so I might have to give this one a go! Thanks for the link!

  25. Emily says:

Well, I’m now on a pinning rampage. That saute is seriously calling my name…
    YUM

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Thank you Emily! And oh my gosh, the saute is one of my most FAVORITE savory recipes! I can’t believe I’d almost forgotten about it! 😯

  26. Have a blast with Megan- haha, blast. You guys can be the blast in a glass a la Jersey Shore- but white (and not 4 ft tall).

Ok, these recipes….mouthgasm, mouthwatering and phallic don’t even describe them.

I would do anything for that French toast. yes. ANYTHING.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Anything? Like travel to the US and celebrate Thanksgiving with me?!? You have just over a month to book your flight! 😉

  27. Everything looks incredible!! I still remember your apple pie granola as it looks so so good!!

I’m going to need A LOT of time off to make all these!! Make ALL THE THINGS! 😉

  29. Love the new profiler! 🙂

  30. Baby Ruth! I love the Goonies which probably makes me old, and I don’t care. Yep, you hear that. I’m over the age thing. How could I not be with all these delicious recipes. I remember your kale salad from last year (Thanksgiving right?); I wanted it then, and I want it even more now. Consider it pinned. I’m also coveting Amanda’s goat cheese and fig muffins. They sound De-Vine!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Yes ma’am! Though I’m the only one who actually ate any of it! Silly parents…they just don’t know what they’re missing! 😛
