Thinking Out Loud: Look Spring, No Pants!

Thank GOD, it’s THURSDAY!

*Insert witty intro here*

I just want to say, I’m seriously proud of all of you out there who sounded willing to try theΒ Sweet Pea Smoothie from Monday’s post! If I didn’t know any better, I’d say my #strangebutgood-ness is rubbing off on your guys! Muahaha! πŸ˜‰

Ok, so I’m still going hard on the whole Spotify thing…I’m telling you, I’m seriously in love with this website/app! I’ve been making playlists left and right, my favorite being “Wine O’clock” which is full of chill tunes and basically ANY song by Lana Del Ray.

This one in particular has been on repeat for over a week now…apparently, I just really like singing songs with the word “fuck” in them! πŸ˜‰

Fancy Pants Wine.jpg

And of course, what good would having a playlist with a name like that be without some “Fancy Pants”? Although I prefer to enjoy my wine SANS pants on most occasions! πŸ˜‰

PS, I totally bought this wine solely for the label and it actually ended up being pretty damn good! #bam

Book - The Orchard

I also frequently judge books by their covers. I picked up The Orchard by Theresa Weir at the bookstore the other day for a whopping THREE dolares after I found myself being sucked into that beautiful green garden!

Red Lipstick

So this is the lipstick that I bought last weekend…that took me like FOREVER to find since for some reason my complexion makes most classic red colors look purple. I was so proud of it, I had to take a picture…and then since I’m so used to using chapstick, without thinking, I totally put the cap back on without rolling it back down.

Park.jpg

After having some pretty chilly days this week, I was more than excited to see it get up to 64Β°F (17Β°C) yesterday, which obviously called for a celebratory trip to the park!

Oh, by the way, happy first day of SPRIIIIIIIIIIING!!! πŸ˜€

Walk at the Park.png

Where I could continue to amuse passersby with my amazing multitasking abilities. I still don’t see what the big deal is…I mean, I am literally like the clumsiest person I know! I swear, it’s all about the peripheral! πŸ˜‰

Hello, my name is Heather and I’ve been living off leftovers ALL week long…oh and cheese, lots and lots of cheese, but back to the leftovers…I’ve officially polished off all the “stolen” injera, bulgogi, and curry, but I saved the best (and previously UNpictured) for last…

Tom Kha Soup with Shrimp

A bowl of Tom Kha soup that I ordered to-go because it is one of my absolute favvvvvvvvvve-or-rites! I added some spinach and it was DEEEEvine!

Thank you Amanda for giving me a reason to give my brain its weekly break/flush! You guys be sure to check out Spoons for all sorts of randomness today because Thursdays are forrrrr…

  1. I am seriously glad to read that I am not the only one who is clumsy and especially clumsy with their lipstick…..
AND we’re having spring temps here as well! 22Β°C!! Woooot! I feel like running around in my bikini!! Ok, maybe I wait until I am out of the office for that……

  2. So it’s Spring…but it’s snowing outside right now. WHATTHEHELLWEATHER. Not cool.
    And that soup looks awesome!

  3. Tom Kha soup is zeeee best!!! Send some good weather my way please. It’s yucky here πŸ™

  4. We’re not talking about spring. We’re just not. We had 1.5 weeks of absolutely gorgeous sunny weather, and then on the first day of spring, we get hit with a freaking blizzard. Well played, winter. Well played indeed.

ANYWAYS. Red lips. SO hard to pull off. People think red is red, but there are actually about 127840 different shades/tones to choose from, making the process of buying a red lipstick extremely time consuming but very rewarding.

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Omg, so true! I never realized how hard it would be to find the right color…and then I wasn’t really sure I could pull it off, but it’s growing on me. Kinda like whenever I wear heels…it’s like I think people I pass on the street are going to know that I’m some sort of impostor and have no idea what I’m doing/wearing! Haha!

Ugh, hope it’s warmed up for you lady! Sounds like we’re not the only ones who have had an incredibly harsh winter!

  5. Eric says:

I’m starting to wear shorts to work! YESSSSSS!

It’s hard to find lipstick to match my complexion too.. haha

  6. YAY…it’s spring!!! I couldn’t be more happier that we are moving on from winter, and I can’t wait to starting wearing my capris and sandals!

  7. If this is called “living of leftovers”, girl, then I seriously need to move in with you. Your leftovers might just look better than all what I have cooked up this week πŸ˜‰ Oh and I do also totally judge books by their covers. Especially now that I am in France and mostly don’t even understand what the title says and have no time to make my way with a dictionary through the descriptive text on the back.

  8. I am obsessed with Lana Del Rey. Such a beautiful soul with some amazing music! πŸ™‚
I can get lost in bookstores roaming the aisles for some interesting books.
I cannot wait to start reading outside by the blooming flowers. πŸ˜€

  9. on the contrary.. don’t you hate when you try a wine with a cool name or label and it tastes like sh*t – glad this one did not πŸ™‚

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Haha! I’ve actually only had that happen like once I think…it was a red called Vampire-something or other…that’s what I get for getting “sucked” into my Twilight phase! Haha!

  10. I always pick wine based on the name/label:)

  11. I wish I could figure out how to wear red lipstick! It just never seems to work on me – the closest I can do is a wine coloured lipstick.

  12. Sarah Pie says:

Look wine, no pants… that’s not right but who cares there’s wine, in an awesome bottle no less. That playlist sounds pretty sweet too.

  13. I love that talent you have- seriously, epic.

I also judge books by their cover and often find I’m not disappointed- then again I miss out on many gems too!

On my mind- Carnival squash is disgusting. How DARE people say it’s as good as kabocha. It’s tasteless. What a waste!

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Carnival squash? Sounds kinda “funny” if you ask me…now stop “clowning” around and tell me what the real name is! Bahaha! #imsopunny

  14. Stop talking about Spring dammit. It was 18 degrees here today, and I’ve had enough. Slams iPad down, stomps off…..

Big sigh…sorry about that. I’m fine now, just a little tired of winter and uber jealous of your wralking picture. I want to be in that spot with a book. Will you please take me there? I’ll pay you in cheese. I have a special Coconut Gouda in the fridge right now? What say you?

    • kissmybroccoli says:

Coconut gouda?! Did you get it from a unicorn salesman?! Holy schnikey! <- Um, yeah, exotic cheeses make me say the damndest things! πŸ˜‰

  15. Tom YUM is my favorite. There is a reason it has yum in its name. [And not because that is a Thai word for ‘hot and spicy’ or something like that…]
