Shaking Things Up

Happy Sunday, friends!

I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend!

So I thought I’d switch it up a bit from our regular Pancake lovin’ posts…emphasis on the “lovin'” from last week’s little escapade! 😉 and share a few words on some AMAZING products I’ve been able to try recently. Thanks to being a Fitfluential ambassador, I had the opportunity to sample some new protein supplements from Designer Whey.

Designer Whey Package

A couple of weeks ago I received a box FULL of goodies including protein bars, protein powders, ready-to-drink shakes, and even some to-go mixes!

Since it’s no secret how much I LOVE my snack bars, you can bet that was the first thing I tried out of my little box…

Designer Whey Protein Bars

Out of all three of the bars, I liked the chocolate one the best. I SWEAR it tasted like they took a Rice Krispie treat and coated it in Whoppers!

Designer Whey Chocolate BarMmm, come to mama!

The caramel one was my second favorite, but unfortunately, I didn’t care for the peanut butter…though I do tend to think I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to “healthified” peanut butter-flavored protein/bars….I just thought it tasted kinda fake.

Next up where the Protein 2 Go mixes…

Designer Whey Protein 2 Go At only 50 calories a piece, they certainly aren’t considered a meal or even a substantial snack, but I love having them around for whenever I accidentally let myself get to “chew your own arm off” status and need a little something to tide me over while I fix up the “real deal meal”! 😉

Designer Whey To-Go Shakes I thought the orange had a bit of an aftertaste, but the lemonade and the berry were both fantastic!

007 Tip of the Day: [Mixes] Better when shaken, not stirred! 😉

As for the powders…

Designer Whey Protein Powder

I was SUPER excited to try out the white chocolate flavor since, even though I prefer dark chocolate now, I used to practically WORSHIP Hershey’s Cookies and Cream bars when I was younger! Unfortunately, even though there is only 2g of sugar (sweetened with stevia) it was WAY to sweet for my sensitive tastebuds. 🙁

Designer Whey Shake But hey, at least it LOOKED pretty! 😉

The French vanilla is a bit better in my opinion, but still a bit sweet so I’m thinking of adding a little to plain Greek yogurt to try…the tart of the yogurt usually helps cut the taste of overly sweet-tasting things for me.

Designer Whey RTDs The only thing I didn’t try was the ready-to-go shakes since I like to keep those on hand for emergency situations, but I’ll keep you guys posted on what I think when I do try them.

Thank you SO much, Designer Whey, for the amazing package and a chance to try all your fantastic products!

Disclaimer: While I did receive these items free of charge, all the above opinions expressed are of my own. I was not compensated in any way for the review of these products.

Have you ever tried any of Designer Whey’s shakes or bars?

What is your favorite high protein snack?
I love my bars, but lately I’ve been totally obsessed with Oikos’s Toasted Coconut yogurt!

Strange and Eggy

Hey, hey, HEY! Happy Friday! 😀

Who’s up for some #strangebutgood breakfast this morning?

Strange But Good S2TT

Can you believe it’s been over a MONTH since I contributed to Laura’s link party?!

Crazy, I know, but let me ASSURE you I have yet to quit my strange eating ways. Nope, I’ve just been hoarding them for a few weeks! I’ll be sharing some amazing oatmeal creations very soon, but as far as today?

Today it’s ALL about the eggs…duh, note the post title! 😉

Eggs

As you guys know, I’ve been getting my fill of the yella stuff for the last few weeks, BUT it hasn’t been ALL about the yolk (just mostly! ;))

1Who says white guys eggs can’t jump be pornirific?

Hmm, too much? 😉

I woke up with a craving for eggs…and cheese (nothing new) but this time I wanted something a bit different…something sweet! Well, since I just happen to be the proud owner of a log of cranberry goat cheese, it took me all of about 30 seconds to for me to start drooling on myself come up with a recipe!

Spinach, Walnut, & Cranberry Goat Cheese Breakfast Wrap

Grilled Spinach, Walnut, & Cranberry Goat Cheese Wrap

Midway through cooking, I started thinking of Morgan’s breakfast on the run wraps so I couldn’t resist pressing mine panini style. Of course, you can always fix yours as a normal wrap, but I swear, grilling/pressing takes it to a whole new level of YUM!

And jusssssst in case my little sweet and cheesy eggs are straaaaaaange enough for you, I thought I’d share another little egg white creation that happened a couple of weeks ago…

Eggs in a Jar + Coffee

Chocolate eggs in a jar, anyone?

Allow me to explain my thought process here (it DOES actually make sense)…

I FINALLY finished off my jar of cookie butter so OBVIOUSLY I had to have breakfast out of it. I was freezing that morning and all I could think of was getting warm, but I didn’t want oatmeal…I really wanted cereal…but again, I was cold.

Sooooooo I scrambled up some egg whites with cocoa powder and almond milk, threw it in my jar, topped it with cereal and banana, added a bit of almond milk,
and grabbed my spoon!

Eggs in a Jar

You say strange…I say good DELICIOUS!

Now hop on over to Sprint to the Table, give Laura a holler and see what kind of strangeness the other gals are getting into this week!

Are you a fan of sweet eggs?
Before you judge…tell me, what’s a crepe?? 😉

Any big plans for the weekend?
Tonight I’m having dinner with my two best friends from high school and Saturday I plan to live it up as best I can before having to go to work on Sunday night…duh duh duuuuuh!

Thoughts on Being a Lobster

Liebster Award

Wait, no…a LIEBSTER!!!

Umm yeah, that’s what I meant! 😉

So I know Thursday’s have been of a more serious nature lately what with me sharing my thoughts on my Intuitive Eating journey, but you know what? I don’t really feel talking about cravings or food guilt or hunger cues. I don’t really feel like trying to decipher the thoughts and feelings hidden behind the jar of pickles, bowl of leftover squash, and crackerfuls of nut butter that I just felt COMPELLED to shove in my face last night.

Nope, today I’m going to pretend that all my days are exactly like last Saturday. No thinking, just living. No guilt, just eating.

So instead I’m going to leave the thinking to someone else, while I answer some questions created by two very lovely ladies back in AUGUST when I was
FIRST nominated for the Liebster Award!

From Sam @ Better with Sprinkles:

1. Treadmill or outdoor running?
Outdoors! And ha, I only WISH I could run right now!

2. Would you rather watch a movie or a (commercial-less) tv show?
I LOVE watching movies with other people, but I don’t know what it is, when I’m alone, my ADD kicks in and I just can’t stay focussed! Give me a show that’s 30 minutes or less and I’m good, otherwise I will have found eleventy million other things to occupy my mind!

3. PJs, yoga pants or housecoat for lounge around the house sort of days?

Bed HeadDefinitely my big fluffy robe…unless I’m booty flaunting in front of the man-friend, then I have to go with the yoga pants, obviously! 😉

4. Regular or egg white omelet? Or no omelets at all?
I could really go either way…as long as there’s CHEESE!!!

5. Favourite chip flavour?
Smartfood Select’s Feta Herb Hummus Popped Chips…one word: ahhhmazing!

6. What’s the best way for you to relax?
Give me a park, a woody trail, or an abandoned railroad…as long as I’m outside, soaking up the sun, and listening to the stillness around me, I’m happy. There is just something about being submerged in nature that truly relaxes me. And bonus points if I have my camera!

Nature

A collage, Roz would certainly approve of! 😀

7. Favourite chocolate bar in existence?
Hmmm, I don’t think they’ve come out with it just yet. It’s called a PeanutbutterpretzelBACONcookiedoughdieandgotoheaven Bar 😉

8. Shorts, full length pants or capris to work out in?
Thanks to my long and gangly legs, shorts AND pants tend to be too short on me. Thank God for capris!

9. Red or white wine?
I’m a white girl through and through…I’ve even got dance moves to prove it! 😉

10.Favourite colour to paint your toenails?
Depends on the season, but lately I’ve been rocking the pink for spring!

11. Sweet or savoury breakfast?
Sweet…and maybe a bit strange? 😉

Cranberry Goat Cheese Breakfast WrapRecipe coming tomorrow!

From Kristin @ My Mission Impossible:

1. What is your dream job?
Cookbook author/Food Photographer? Hey, a girl can dream, right?

2. Favorite form of cardio and how often do you do it?
I REALLY like circuit training…strength training AND cardio in one!

3. How long have you been blogging?
2 years, 4 months, and 4 weeks…TODAY!

4. What is your favorite fitness class and why?
I don’t go to classes often because I kinda like to just wing it and do my own thing, but I like jumping into a Body Pump or yoga class from time to time.

5. How do you relax?
See #6 above.

6. What do you listen to while working out, if anything.
I usually set my phone to either my workout playlist or my latest favorite station on Pandora….as long as I have something upbeat that makes me wanna shake my white girl booty! Lol

7. What website do you spend the most time on?
Damn, you caught me…

Lobster Me

PicMonkey! [Original Source]

8. Do you work out at home or in a gym?
Mostly at the gym, but I’m loving that the weather is FINALLY starting to warm up so that I can take my physical therapy outdoors!

9. What is #1 on your bucket list?
Travel (and EAT) my way through Europe…bring on the carbs!
Crepes…hot toasty Italian loaves…pitas…mmmm!

10. Favorite food and least favorite food?
Favorite: BREAKFAST…don’t make me choose just ONE!

Breakfast Least favorite: Raw Squid

11. Do you have any morning rituals?
Every morning afternoon when I wake up, I check my phone for texts and Twitter/Instagram updates and then end up scrolling through my IG feed for a few minutes before starting breakfast.

What’s the best way for YOU to relax?
