Music Monday: Spilling It!

You GUYS!

Seriously? I mean, SERIOUSLY?!

I love you…each and every single one of you! I just finished reading through the comments on last week’s posts and wow, just…WOW! You all really know how to brighten a lady’s day! Thank you all SO much for the compliments on my photography, the hurrahs on my latest goal accomplishment, AND of course all the praise for pumpkin-ified goodness out there! After a weekend I would NEVER want to relive, I really REALLY needed that! *hugs*

Ok, with a brighter spirit in the air, let’s get onto today’s post!

I’ve been tossing around the idea of a music-themed post for a couple of weeks now so when I saw the latest topic for Arman’s Spill It Sunday link up, I took it as a sign! I LOVE discovering new artists and music genres and sharing music tastes with people I meet! I have Amanda and Sam to think for my love of Pentatonix and just the other day, a coworker introduced me to Kangaroo Court by Capital Cities!

So how about I share a shameless selfie of me this summer jamming out in the car and then answer a few questions, huh? 😉

Selfie

What is your ALL TIME favorite musical artist/band?

My tastes seem to change with the seasons, but one thing that has remained constant since I was twelve years old is my love for Green Day.*

*Each link will coordinate to one of my favorite songs by that artist/genre.

What is your favourite genre of music?

REALLY hard to narrow it down, but at the TOP of the list are: Alternative, Rock, Alternative Rock, Indie RockSinger/Songwriter, and 80’s…always 80’s Bon Jovi!

Which genre of music could you skip over on the radio?

Country…sorry, but unless it’s some old school Reba or Garth, it just ain’t happenin’! I’m not that big into rap either…again, unless we’re talking some old school…can never say no to Salt ‘n Peppa or Marky Mark!

Most embarrassing musical admissions/tastes?

I’ll admit that while I feel my taste in music is a bit more refined now than when I was in high school, I do succumb to some of the candy-sweet, poppy, just has that damn beat that you can’t get out of your damn head songs. My latest and greatest lowest? Come and Get It by Salena Gomez…and yes, I hit repeat! 😯

And now, in no particular order, here are five songs that I’ve been cranking up on the radio and Pandora lately…

Love Don’t Die by The Fray…seriously, I’ve loved these guys since I had How to Save a Life repeating on my Myspace page!

Say Something by A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera

Until the End by Breaking Benjamin

Tear Away by Drowning Pool

Living Dead Girl by Rob Zombie

Hey, like I said I had a shit-tastic weekend…and the only cure for that was nonstop Korn Radio…and some pretty sweaty gym sessions! 😡

What is your favorite music genre?

Favorite artist of ALL time?

Oops, I did it again? 😉

I know you’re probably not all that surprised to see the combo of peanut butter and pumpkin on the blog AGAIN, but you know I just can’t help myself! Though I REFUSE to put this in the category of just another boring food phase because this wrap…oh my gosh, you guys…SWOON-WORTHY!

Peanut Butter Pumpkin Banana Wrap - A decadent treat filled with all your favorite flavors and drizzled with cocoa sauce! www.kissmybroccoliblog.com

This was IN FACT a mouthgasmic moment.

With its sweet creamy filling, the smooooooooooth drizzle of coca sauce, and my GENIUS decision to top it off with peanuts and cereal “sprinkles”…hmm, I should trademark that…I was ohh’ing and ahh’ing my way to bliss…all the way up to the moment where I licked the plate clean. 😉

Feel free to omit the pumpkin if you’re crazy enough not to be a fan of my favorite winter tanning ingredient (coughMeghancough) and just use peanut butter if you don’t have any peanut flour handy. Then you can head on over to iHerb with my promo code (QQQ940), order up a bag (or ten), and then you’ll FINALLY see why I’m not even kidding when I say I want to be buried in the stuff! 😉

Peanut Butter Pumpkin Banana Wrap - Strange but most DEFINITELY good! www.kissmybroccoliblog.com

Just please, for the love of all things holy, DO NOT leave out the chocolate or the “sprinkles”…because well, those make everything better!

Strange but Good Pumpkinified

And so does joining up with my long-lost #strangebutgood foodies! Oh and look, I got to use my favorite vandalized button again! 😀 Be sure to head over to Sprint 2 the Table and check out all the other creative concoctions for the week!

Ok, just one more pic before I go…

Peanut Butter Pumpkin Banana Wrap - Is it dessert or BREAKFAST I'll let you decide! www.kissmybroccoliblog.com

Gah, WHY do I have to be out of tortillas now?!

What is your plan for this weekend? Will it involve PUMPKIN? 😉
Please tell me I’m not the only one still eating it!

I’m Sexy and It’s Snowin’!

Hey hey to all my FIIIIIIINE ladies and gents out there!

It’s Thursday…it’s cold…and my mind is POPPIN’! So let’s hear it for our girl Amanda for giving us all an excuse to let loose and GET LOUD!

PARTY ROCK!

Sexy Tee Selfie

1. I swear I will eventually shut up about the weather, but seriously, it was BELOW freezing all last week. This weekend, it got up to nearly 60 degrees (Fahrenheit)…I wore SHORTS to the gym (and this top I forgot I bought when on vacation)! And now, as I draft this post, there are snow flurries blowing around outside. Umm, is it the end of the world? Did I miss the memo?

2. I don’t know if it’s the stress of our impending armageddon, or what, but my face is STILL revolting against me. First it was dry skin, next was an acne flare up (Really? Aren’t I a bit old for that?!), and last night, the skin between my upper and lower lips cracked…OUCH! I don’t know what else to do…coconut oil, exfoliators, facial masks…seriously, this is not helping with my sexiness!

3. I may be hating my skin, but one thing I’m loving? Baby muscles! After all the walking/running/whatever I’ve been doing lately, I looked down yesterday and noticed that my side calf (not to be confused with half CAFF) is like BAM, IN YO’ FACE!

Gym Leg Machine Rep Counter

4. Speaking of workouts, remember how I mentioned the new equipment at the gym? Well, I think I’m in love with the lower leg machines. They have little rep AND time counters on them. Oh and we got one that looks a lot like this and omg, it’s awesome!

Nora Roberts Inn BoonsBoro Trilogy

5. Besides gaining mutant-sized calf muscles, I’ve been FLYING through some pages at the gym lately! I just finished reading the first of the Nora Roberts books that my mom loaned me last week…and I only started it FOUR DAYS ago! Side note: aren’t they gorgeous?

6. I decided to get a book light. Since I have so much trouble in the sleep department, I figured it would help to have less light around me when I’m reading before bed. Turns out the cute little clip-on ends up causing more frustration than its worth…and that tiny LED light freaking blinded me!

7. With all this time spent getting back in touch with my inner bookworm I’ve gotten SO behind on my blogger “responsibilities”. Blog comments, emails, and letters need responses and well, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t purposefully making excuses NOT to open up my blog reader with its 200+ unread posts! 😯 *gulp*

Kiddie Cereal

8. Oh and there’s been no time to “waste” in the kitchen either. I basically haven’t eaten anything that takes longer than 5 minutes to “assemble”. Snack plates, tortillas any which way I can wrap ’em, and of course, cereal. Hey, there was a sale annnnnd what can I say, I’m an equal opportunity cereal-killer! 😉

Peanut Butter Pumpkin Banana Wrap

9. While I’m not really complaining about my hodge-podge meals, I feel it doesn’t really help in the food blogger aspect of my life. Baaaaaa-HUT I did manage to whip up something on the fly yesterday that I’ll be sharing tomorrow in my first #strangebutgood link up in like two months. Hmm, January is quickly becoming the month of LONG lost LINK UPS, no?

10. Of course, there HAS been bit of behind-the-scenes blog work. Maybe you’ve noticed the addition of the Glam ads? Yeah, it only took me THREE months to get them up! Ha! I’ve also put on my big girl pants and gotten back to submitting pictures to Foodgawker…I got my feelings hurt after like TEN declinations last March and gave up. Since last week, I’ve submitted nine…only TWO have been accepted. Ugh, are you guys SURE you want photo-tips from me?! 😉

Thinking-Out-Loud

While you ponder that, why don’t you hop on over to Spoons, check out all the other links of randomness today and maybe even leave some of your own in the comment section? As for me, I’m off to find out where I can get a pair of rainbow animal print shorts!

Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle YEAH! 😉
